    And
And this is why Andor is true star wars. I almost feel it's star wars before star wars was released..the ultimate prologue. Does have a mid 70s feel which ironically is what George had said he wanted to get away from. I just think he thought of he went more escapist/ family friendly there wouldn't be a bigger audience and thus the merchandising rights. You can't have a revolution without money

This is exactly what I felt after watching Rogue One. That it was not only a direct prologue to A New Hope, but also on a meta-level, it represented a transition from hardscrabble earlier 70s cinema to the pop-myth-inspired cinema ushered in by Star Wars. And that’s also what I adore about the Vader hallway scene. That’s literally the transition path from gritty space war film to space fantasy.

Likewise. Though I don’t believe anyone used that term. Calling something real Star Wars often implies that other Star Wars content is not real Star Wars, while calling something true Star Wars usually just reinforces the Star Warsiness of something without casting aspersions on other Star Wars.

Then again, I am perhaps the only real, true Star Wars fan. I’m the only one with clarity of purpose.

Chicken or egg, was Saw in the Underworld scripts before he showed up on Clone Wars?

Yes he was, Filoni or GL mentions it in past interviews. Also Church of the force that TFA teased was in Underworld.

New animated TV projects confirmed for Celebration.

Every time I see a 20 year old Star Wars fan begging for a “Clone Rebellion” show on Twitter it activates my fight or flight response.

That being said, I think the most obvious thing at this point is that the Ventress episode of TBB was a back door pilot and we’re getting a Ventress animated show/maybe with Dark Disciple finally being adapted

Is it wrong that I both want the show in the TCW animation style but also in a 2D style like the Holiday Special short?

I think we'll get the 53rd clone centric show about them adjusting to retired life before that happens.

This. I don’t need the six hundredth clone show. I don’t need a Ventress show. Giv me Luke, Han and Leia or give me death!

There are so many different camps and it's so difficult keeping everyone happy. I think some OT era animation is actually a no brainer.

Realistically they’ll keep doing Clone Wars adjacent slop, but it would be really great if they actually tried to do something else. I know that’s a tall order, but it would be nice.

So you’re saying the reason they won’t do it is because it would be an extremely popular decision that everyone would love? That makes sense.

Yes or we would have gotten it by now.
Dave Filoni's is too invested and in love with his characters and shows to step into a full blown OT show with Han, Luke and Leia

Wow, I really like this interpretation. The tone of Andor always felt off to me and just not Star Wars, but this is a really cool way of contextualizing it. And I agree that Rogue One feels like a transition. I always thought of it more as a transition from the (relative) moral ambiguity of the PT era to the more black-and-white morality of the OT, but this works too.

This is a totally different reason then, “Everyone would love it so we’re not going to do it.” I agree that one of the reasons we haven’t gotten it before is that Filoni prefers his own characters. However, with him now more invested in live action maybe we’ll get it finally. Probably not but I personally would be way more excited for it than Clone Wars Part Sixty-Six or The Adventures of Ventress.

It’s such a total no-brainer that I can’t help but think they’re holding out for a live action version, perhaps when deepfake reaches a totally realistic level. I don’t know. I mean, they need to do sometime while the original OT audience is still alive!
Yup. Think of it this way, and Andor won’t bother you at all. In fact, Andor feels like what some thought Star Wars would be before it came out!

Yeah, that would be me. I'm old enough to remember in the '70s when there were rumors of a big new scifi movie called STAR WARS. What we got in '77 was much more mythic and fantastic than I expected. Of course it's still amazing and genre-defining, and I wouldn't change it now, but it was not what I would have envisioned just going by the title and ads. R1 is much closer to my expectations at the time.

I think from Dave Filonis point of view the fans love the clones, the fans likely express their love of the Clones to him so he will keep using the Clones because he feels there is interest. He also likely finds more joy in expanding on his own creations.

If we haven't noticed it yet, Filoni does have a personal attachment to his own stuff.

I think Disney or someone would have to show interest and ask him to do it. Even even push him a bit to do it. Otherwise it probably wouldn't be his first idea in mind to do a show about Luke, Han and Leia.
