I’d liked to have seen a Maul Live action show that filled in these gaps. We have had so much animated maul but very little live action.

 

Probably cause they what they get with Sam Witwer and not the stunt guy. And most fans know the animated Maul more and Dave Filoni can get more creative and crazy with animation.

I wonder if we get flashback of young Maul under Darth Sidious training him. See him take Maul. And Sam said there is a side to Maul we have not seen yet that surprise fans.

I think with Filoni he will want to tell stories characters from the Clone Wars and tie up loose threads before he does something new. But it will not be outside the Saga for a long time.

 

Sam said it starts about a year after ROTS so its pre-Solo.
However since his apprentice is also said to be young maybe the show will span a larger span of time/have a timeskip eventually.

 

Starts pre Solo and could end post Solo, depending on how many seasons they want to make. His apprentice be other other lead of the show, and by Solo he has two young women he must master. One who has the force and one non force sensitive.

So sounds like we see some Mandalorian character, maybe the purple one from Siege of Mandalore, so Maul could still have loyal Mandalorians with him. And he is looking for a twi'lek child that saw in a vision and montages of him training her.

 

So I guess, considering the timeline, this won't feature anything with the Son of Dathomir events. I'd love to see the return of Talzin; carrying the immediate events of The Lawless episode of TCW..

 

This will one year after Clone Wars, so about time of Bad Batch season 3. I doubt we see Mother Talzin

 

Yeah, that's what I figured. I'll watch it, because like just about any other show for the franchise airing D+, it's there.

 

You might like his female young apprentice thats going to be in this show.

 

I'll watch, but this insistence on keeping so many stories in the period between the PT and OT is getting boring. Animation especially has so much freedom to expand the boundaries of Star Wars, and yet we're returning to a character who has died twice!

At least the focus on the criminal underworld should be intriguing.

I’m so excited for this. I do hope it is largely inspired by Lucas’s ST treatment, adapted however it must to fit with the current canon, of course.

 

Tell that to old George Lucas who says whats going to happen whether you like it or not like going Mortis route.

Sam Witwer comments on more and ding stuff Dave Filoni and George Lucas talked about doing with Maul years ago. That probably included his Sequel treatments. And now we have this show about him training a twi'lek

 

So, Better Call Maul.

They should bring back Luke Skywalker too if maul being more compelling is any indication

 

I forgot about the whole trilogy that Maul was the star of. Dang, you’re right! The two situations are exactly alike!

 

Looks intriguing. But that's definitely not Talon, lol. The idea of Maul training a Twi'lek girl as his apprentice from George's ST definitely served as an inspiration, but visually she's nothing like the character. She's not even red, but pink. She looked more like Suu Lawquane to me.

 

They said the show is set 1 year after the events of Revenge Of The Sith.
