Disney made a sacred promise to fans at the end of the movie Solo. And by God they are keeping that promise. We should all be grateful that Disney Star Wars executives are like Lannisters, they always remember their debts. This is the one that has been keeping us awake at nights.

What "keeps me awake" is that between 1983 and 1999 that George Lucas didn't have any desire to maybe work with someone or hire someone else to bring a Star Wars movie to the silver screen.

Rumor has it that Maul will have to face a rival crime lord who seems to know his every move, and at the end of the season you find out
It's the lower half of his body

That maybe would have killed the franchise 20 years earlier, which would have been merciful.

TBH I can live without angry “fan” videos complaining he doesn’t have rape powers in canon and breathlessly wondering where his sexbot is.

I don't understand Disney's reasoning. If there's a giant drop in interest in this IP, then they should do what brings people back. I'd say that would be (1) continue with the numbered movie episodes, just don't do what they did with VII-VIII-XI, and (2) do something with Luke/Leia/Han in the classic era, like an all-out animated series set between ANH and ESB.

Sticking to the past is exactly why they failed the first time.

It's like WWE trotting out an old legend when the ratings drop, or the MCU bringing back Iron Man/Captain America because they couldn't get the audience interested in the new characters.

    Don't go backwards, write better.

The IP shouldn't be made to appeal to the Star Wars Theory types who just want to see OP God Luke Skywalker wrecking stuff instead of shows like Andor & Skeleton Crew.

With Season 2, “Andor” cements itself as the gold standard of what modern “Star Wars” can be.

Andor is a perfect Star Wars show and a masterclass in crafting a prequel. It enriches everything that follows, making not only Rogue One but the original trilogy itself more powerful and meaningful in the process. There is nothing quite like it. Andor’s second season is brimming with intense action, suspenseful spy games and a tremendous cast of rich characters, all in a power struggle for the future of the galaxy that will leave you breathless, inspired, terrified and emotionally devastated by its powerful conclusion. I can’t wait to watch it all over again.

"It's the standard by which all future Star Wars will be measured. Superb TV."

98% RT is not something Star Wars has seen much of. I’ll be settling in 24 hours from now for what is now a true franchise landmark event for the three or four of us who still care. Our little sub sub culture micro bubble is getting the goods.

I like that Star Wars did that. ScreenCrush did one too in roughly the same amount of time.

Decent first episode. The economics of fascism, privilege and duty and some fun espionaggigans, the dynamics of cahoots. The ins and outs of cahoots. The psychology of cahoots. It’s off to a start that’s for sure. It’s only the first episode and Luthen’s Panem art dealer persona already seems strained to the point of near lunacy.

Overall very good, but as is tradition, I’ll focus on the not.

I found the lost boys part very tedious, and ultimately pointless. Except that, as its SW, they are undoubtedly older siblings/parents of a certain Tatooine gang who roam around on ****** speeder bikes.

    They seemed
a satire of the ever-bickering internal divisions of “the Left” in the real-world, bungling by and internally fighting so they never get any real experience or accomplishments… contrasted with those with the maturity to get past their differences for the common goal and actually work together to have a plan and do stuff, like Andor

Does the special TIE have shields?
Pilots wear full helmets with breathing tubes because most TIE types don't and they're often flying through space in a vacuum.
Cassian apparently does not have this problem.

I liked the stuff with the imperial inspection, also the sets and costumes for the wedding.
Shame about Brasso, poor B2 is also left behind again.

I like that Dedra doesn't take any **** from anyone
