It’s weird when you remember Luke, Leia, and Ezra were all born on the same day (Empire Day).

 

Luke and Leia were born two days after actually.

 

Oh I thought I remembered reading a timeline that Yoda/Obi-wan/Bail arriving back in Coruscant, to Padme s death on Polis Massacre, was all within 24 hours.

 

I don’t think that really negates what Filoni said. Ackbar was the de facto head of the NR military at the time of HttE and did actively engage with him on the battlefield during the trilogy.

His performance doesn’t actually mean much either, as I imagine Gial is going to get his orange butt handed to him here as well.

 

I estimate it took a day for Bail Organa to rendezvous with Yoda and Obi-Wan before returning to Coruscant. It seemed to be evening when they infiltrated the Temple and Palpatine made his announcement with the duels happening the next evening.

Basically:
16:5:20 -- Battle of Coruscant.
16:5:21 -- Yoda leaves for Kashyyyk. The Tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise.
16:5:22 -- Battle of Utapau. Duel in the Chancellor's Office. Order 66.
16:5:23 -- [ Empire Day ] Declaration of the New Order. Infiltration of the Jedi Temple. Massacre on Mustafar.
16:5:24 -- Obi-Wan visits Padme (she did say yesterday was the last time she saw Anakin). Padme departs Coruscant for Mustafar. Duels in the Chancellor's office and on Mustafar.
16:5:25 -- Palpatine brings Vader back to Coruscant for reconstruction at the EmPal Surgical Center. Padme dies on Polis Massa after giving birth to the twins.
Afterwards --

• Bail Organa brings Padme's body to Naboo.
• Padme's funeral with her parents, her sister, her nieces, Boss Nass, Representative Binks, Queen Apailana, Governor Bibble, several of Apailana's personal handmaidens and assorted senators present occurs.
• Yoda lands on Dagobah.
• Palpatine and Vader greet Tarkin on his personal Venator-class Star Destroyer at the site of the Death Star's construction.
• Bail takes Leia to Alderaan and meets with Breha.
• Obi-Wan brings Luke to the Larses.

 

I wonder if senator Xiono will be controversial part of the New Republic like Fey'la in legends.

 

Gotta be, though I doubt he’ll ever get the kind of end Borsk got against the Vong.

 

Well we know he is alive by TLJ and escaped Hosnian Prime. So post TFA he is like Leia a senator and leader without a planet. Maybe we see him in the post TROS movies as an old senator with regrets and trying to do better.

 

Indeed, and Pellaeon gave the impression that Ackbar made the Imperials work for it.

I am honestly curious how Ahoska season 2 is going to split having a big old war in the main galaxy and the title character's journey in the other galaxy in just 8 episodes.

I know it is against the current zeitgeist, but I wish that, if they insist on sticking to the 6-8 episode format, they would split up those plotlines into different shows.

 

The entire mandoverse would be better off as a game of thrones style epic with branching subplots in one episode instead of a bunch of funny spin-offs

Hey, Nick recovered from being awestruck.

 

I dunno. I am currently reading the Thrawn Ascendency books myself and he definitely feels like an agent of chaos to me.

And, on one level, trying to throw you enemy into chaos while keeping your side orderly and organized is just good tactics. Control information flow and you control the battlefield.

But beyond that even his allies are often confused at just what the hell Thrawn is doing and why. Like, I get that everything makes sense to him from what he learns and the logical deductions he makes, and that a lot of his plans are all about precise timing and control,* but even admits he often has a lot of trouble explaining his reasoning to others, and overall he is almost treated like a tornado they just hope fixes more problems than he causes.


*I am reminded of a comment about the Japanese plan for Midway, something along the lines of "This plan will guarantee victory, provided the enemy does exactly as you want him to."

Undoubtedly, but alas that ship has sailed long ago.

 

Apparently, Dave filoni is pulling more from legends

which is great

 

I remember when fans accused Dave Filoni off disrespecting legends but he only did what GL wanted like what we got with Mandalorians.

 

In clone wars under Lucas, Dave was bulldozing

in Disney under Kennedy, he straight up bulldozed Disney canon and created an imperial remnant-new republic war that objectively didn’t exist in the context of bloodlines

Dave would go full legends ham if he let him

 

Dave Filoni does his own thing and tries to respect Canon and Legends. He said he has a timeline board that includes everything big happens

 

Fun Fact: Filoni’s uncle fought at the Battle of Midway. He’s cited those stories he and his brother were told growing up about WW2 as one of the things that drew him towards Star Wars, and specifically Heir to the Empire.
