I don't suppose either of you knows what the title was actually intended to mean a few centuries ago

    Because I'd laugh

    Yesssssssssssssssssssssssss

Also, I'm not going to say it's definite. But as we all know, Shakester was, for lack of a better term, a slut. And he's known to have bedded a woman that we know for sure is an ancestor of mine

Just saying. If there were a secret child, nobody would know....

Oh also as an aside, we all love Sad Star Wars. No director currently alive can bring the pain like Joss Whedon. This is why he would be perfect on a Kenobi film.

Exactly. His Star Wars would be the sassiest and the saddest.

I read Much Ado in high school and thought it was pretty good so I'm glad !

Also I have seen Dr Horrible and that was pretty good. I forgot it was Joss Whedon though.

Was anybody else like "Whatchu on about" when you learned it was Joss Whedon and not Josh Whedon?

It's like when we learned that it's actually Barenstain Bears. Alternate timeline theories notwithstanding

Yep, and while I'm singing his praises, he did all that during the Writer's Strike because the man *cannot stop* creating things. He's a savant at coming up with ideas and executing them.

I think I squinted for 5 seconds and then rolled with it, but I think I'd also seen Joss Stone at that point so I knew it was a name.

Oh, it really was always "nothing"

But 500 years ago, "nothing" could mean something else

Diré que en Español, la palabra "fresa", o, como se dice "strawberry" en Ingles, tiene un significado MUY diferente en esta lengua. Y el titulo de la obra de teatro es similar. Tal vez demasiado similar

Part of the reason why I don't like the idea of Joss Whedon directing a SW film is because he has gone on record to say he didn't like the PT (except ROTS)- and we already have 3 spinoff movies set in the OT era, so if someone where to change direction he wouldn't be the indicated one/

Then again, I'm starting to wonder when I'm going to call it quits and stop watching Disney's version of SW (I'm really, really hesitating to even watch Ep 8 in theaters) so perhaps it won't matter to me.

 OMG SHE WAS A VOICE ON EWOKS???!!! This is like the coolest news of the day thank you Bail.
You know how much I love my Ewoks movies,TV show and/or HS talk/info. ;)

Never saw her live-action stuff, but her's is a name I shall never forget from watching all those credits for her voice work on many fav shows growing up - Rugrats (Susie!), Danny Phantom (Valerie!), Clifford the Big Red Dog (Cleo!), As Told By Ginger (Miranda!), etc. [face_dancing]

Wiki says she also voiced Luminara Unduli in episode "Chapter 14" of SW: Clone Wars (2004). So 2 SW connections! :D :p

He's also gone on record that he wouldn't bring back the OT, and he would go in a new direction with new movies.

He was asked if he had gotten Ep VII if he would have brought back the old characters and he flat out said no.

I think that would be interesting, way more interesting than what we had. I don't need a return to the PT or OT in the ST, I just want the full flavor Star Wars.

Ep VII without Han, Luke or Leia was always a big NO for me. Luke needed to show up in some way (and certainly far more than 5 seconds)- It makes no sense considering that the previous 6 where Anakin's story- unless you make it Luke and Anakin's story, the whole thing feels so disconnected from the whole it's no longer a saga the way George would have constructed it-

Yeah, and Whedon's new direction was allegedly adapting the NJO novels from the EU- Again, NO.

And why can't we have a spinoff set during the PT era???

Anyway, if he gets a spinoff I won't complain, I just don't think he really gets Star Wars in the same camp of a Filoni or GL (or maybe even Gareth Edwards from what we have seen so far)

As long as Nolan or Tarantino don't get their hands on Star Wars, you won't see me throwing fire

I always enjoy her voice acting but in my mind she's first and foremost Freddie Brooks from A Different World.

You know what? Just straight up put her in a live action SW film. And while you're at it add Dawnn Lewis to further strengthen the Futurama/SW connection. :p

I disagree w/you on a lot of this (my dislike for Luke I've noted many times lol; don't need to see a lot of him in 8, 9 :p)
BUT the bolded parts I wholeheartedly agree with you on. :)

Especially just before the PT. I wish they could just make Darth Plagueis canon.
    {From what I recall, if they made it legal (so to speak ;) ), I don't think it'd mess w/anything in the new canon.}
I guess the problem is that to pick & chose which previously written books are & aren't canon isn't really fair; would only cause more anger, arguments w/the fanbase depending on which books are/aren't chosen.

God I would love to watch that movie if it was done right though. (grr we need a happy sighing emoji for times like this) :p

Oh, & Evening Star, after your mention of Sailor Moon earlier (which is yet another fandom I wish I'd have gotten into as a child, since I think I'd have loved it [face_sigh]), I decided to try it out. :) Watched the 1st episode (90s, not the new one); definitely would've been my cup of tea; might watch the rest of it to see which Sailor Soldier I'm most like lol (is that what they're called?! I couldn't tell. :p). Which one was your fav growing up? :)

Darth Plagueis is canon, for me.
I'm still hoping it or a version of that story becomes a film.

I know you'll all gasp at this, but I'm glad new movies weren't just PT spinoffs. I'd love to see the next generation of Skywalkers done right. If anything, Lost Stars proved to me that I could deeply care about peripheral characters, and I'd love to see the new Jedi staring soulfully into sunsets, as long as it's not Star Wars Lite.

So I guess I'd be down with a little from the NJO if I thought it could be done in a consistent way.

I'd also be down with Old Republic, but it would be kind of awesome if the PT, OT, and ST gave you different flavors of Star Wars with different styles but with the same earnest fun and density that all of them have.
