Rogue One [Official Info] Vanee (aka Hooded Man or Not Plagueis Not Snoke Not Palpatine) in Rogue One

I'd gladly trade my constantly failing me body for some shiny cybernetic enhancements.

For this scene it might contrast Vader's later badassery which is completely fine by me.

 

its just a quick scene, its an homage to the meditation chamber scene.

 

The hooded man was actually Vader's slave: not his master.

I just loved how we were sooooo curious about the hooded kneeling figure.....I laughed when revealed it's just some random butler/gofer dude haha

 

I'm not sure he's just a random though. Think about it, he gets to approach a completely defenseless Vader, knowing what he looks like under the suit and all. That's some serious trust right there. Could he be Snoke, who says he saw the rise of the Empire and all that? Could he have learned some cool stuff from the Emperor and Vader? Possibly. I really don't think they put that guy in the scene to just be a throwaway. We'll find out in a year, I suppose.

 

45 pages.....for the butler

 

This alone should warrant his own toy figure, right? Vanee the Butler!

 

I think they trolled us. LOL. That's okay though.

 

The novel might give more background on Vanee. There HAS to be something special about him if he's kicking it with Vader on Mustafar. I mean, there's no way in the universe that he's just a normal guy who's resume was impeccably written with great referrals.

 

He'll probably get some screen time in Rebels.

In the old EU it was said that Vader only let droids help him to remove his armour, so may be this guy is more important than just a butler but a minion still.

 

Well do to those who said it was Vader in the tank though. I stand corrected, thought it wouldn't be him.

We need a Vader's Butler featurette on the blu Ray. I want to hear Vader say "You are my butler...Now Butle!"

 

Never before has so much been said by so many about one butler. Actually I'd love to see Vader's relationship with this butler. Has he been serving him for years? Do they shoot the ****? Have a chat about things? Does Vader Force-choke him if he doesn't bring his towel quickly enough? So many questions.

 

I want my Vanee action figure.

In a deleted scene, he gave Vader a towel to dry off from the tank.

 

Clearly this guy is Alfred to Vader's Batman. Maybe they're pals.

 

Well Vanee looks like one of the Emperor's aide's (or whatever they called in these canon years). I always wondered what was up with them mostly because they look kinda like Palpatine with the old mand gray skin thingy, and Vanee certainly look like that. The best thing I could come up with way back when I watched jedi in the 80's was that they might be some Dark side force users.

Any thoughts on this?

Come to think of it, maybe they are to the Emperor what Donny Yen's character seems to be to the Jedi.

So, he's a member of the Peculiar Hat Crew?

 

Kinda sweet that Vader found some love after the whole Padmé disaster.

 

Maybe the Royal Guards is only on his "mustafar" castle and thats why we dont see them in Empire Strikes Back

 

I think Red Guards are mainly there to watch that Vader doesn't get any ideas to betray the Emperor with secret apprentices etc.
