The Mandalorian Din Grogu [Baby Yoda] (Spoilers)

so a recent novelization describes a clone as a "strand-cast" which is what Mando and Co. theorized Baby Yoda could be. Them cloners are definitely either involved or they're super-interested in Baby Yoda for cloning reasons. I think it seems like clones can't have the Force but maybe Baby Yoda is a clone or can and/or they want to try to clone them and keep the Force sensitivity.

 

The strand-cast mention definitely caught my eye. It seems very possible that Gideon could be taking his orders from the Sith acolytes in the unknown regions working on Palps’ behalf.

It’s also possible - and I would argue more interesting - if Gideon has his own motivations and wanted ultimately to locate the child to empower himself.

He would then be a sort of dark mirror to Mando, who also took a job for the child and then betrayed that job for his own purposes after meeting it.

I think Gideon will be revealed to be apart of the sith cultist. He dresses like an imperial inquisitor. He wants the child for his sith master, Darth Sidious. To clone a perfect force senstive clone he could posses.

I'm calling it Palpatine wants Baby Yoda to be his new apprentice and eventually the vessel for his spirit. He's still young for his species and his species is incredibly long lived and he's already powerful in his own right. He's the perfect target.

 

Sadly, this could be true.

 

I think Gideon's machinations for Baby Yoda are more personally related than Sidious related if only for the closing line "It means more to me than you will ever know." I mean, if he was doing it for someone else why would be personalize it?

I do think the odds of the Asset being a Yoda Clone that actually they managed to successfully transfer the Force to just shot up, though. Not as if anyone in the show seems to know what the Force is aside from Gideon, maybe.

 

In chapter 7, Ugnolte explicitly says that Baby Yoda is not a clone.

 

Yes, but the problem, after TROS ( and specially with the novelization) is that Palpatine and the Sith Cultists were "experimenting" things, trying, clearly eugenics that most of the time became strandcast, unperfect clones. Snoke was one of them.
If the Baby Yoda becomes Snoke ( or if he's a clone of the Child), it would could kill the show and cause people to riot in the streets, so i don't think they will this dumb..
But anyway i think the experiments they want to do with The Child is a clear sign, even easter egg, of what was going on in Exegol.

 

In light of everything now:

I’m pretty sure they just want Baby Yoda’s DNA to incorporate into their jar of pickled Snokes

 

Who had captured Baby Yoda originally?
Did they take him from the Imperials during the collapse of the Empire?

Perhaps an ex-Moff or General who took an opportunity as Rebel forces attacked their Clone Lab?

And yeah, I'm kind of convinced that Baby Yoda really is Baby Yoda as much as Rey is Grandaughter Palpatine. A flashback scene to Count Dooku picking up a stray Yoda hair to give to his new Master...

yah he was definitely already in captivity of Imperials I'm thinking is really likely, maybe after Endor he somehow got nabbed by someone else. Good odds that Moff Gideon was the one who had him captured. As for Baby Yoda's origins, I am sort of on the side of cloning experiment.

 

The way the child acts when he sees someone hurt makes me believe he had some sort development with the Force to heal people. He's 50 years old and acts most of the time like a year old child, but also he KNEW how to force choke someone ( something he would not learn from a Jedi)
There's lot of ways to develop his background. Let's hope they get it right.

I hope all the specie of Yoda speaks backwards. I like it that way and don't hope that change, it kinda ruin the mystery of their specie i feel.

 

That would be dumb. Language is not genetic. If Baby Yoda is raised by the Mando, he should follow the Mando’s speaking patterns. Plus, Yoda didn’t originally say every sentence in backwards speak. Just some. I really hate the overuse of it.
