Angela's Magic Lesson - I Know Kung-Fu by Mr-DNA

Angela's armor began to recede to the point where she wasn't sure she could still call it armor. A padded hide vest was slung firmly on her shoulders. Studs lined her gauntlets and boots. Her bare arms and loose-fitting pantaloons didn't offer much defense, but allowed for more freedom of movement. That movement would be applied to the knowledge of myraid fighting styles that filled Angela's head. She knew not only how to attack, but how to nimbly evade her enemies. Angela shook her head. "What enemies?" she thought back at herself. But deep down she knew her keen senses could detect friend from foe.

For now, though, she was alone to focus and hone her skills...


(1.) Angela found she could focus her aura outwards.

(2.) A quarterstaff appeared before her, but something else appeared behind her!

Angela's Magic Lesson - Golden Palm Strike by Mr-DNA

Eager to try out her new, athletic form, Angela spent some time throwing punches and kicks in the air. She was amazed at how quick and powerful she'd become from one simple spell. As she practiced, her clothes continued changing. Their colors became brighter to the point of being flashy. The leather armor completely gave way to light fabrics. Angela found that this only aided her speed and agility. She could now leap several times her own height, even launching herself off walls if the need arose. Her punches and kicks became distinctly louder, due mostly in part to her bracers becoming gold bracelets that amplified her chi.

Closing her eyes, Angela tried focusing all her energy into a single punch. She took a deep breath and curled her fingers. She shouted "Jīn shǒu," as a fireball burst from her open palm, floodng the archives with light. Had she actually intended to come to the archives for martial arts training, Angela would have made leaps and bounds. In terms of her magical training, she could already shoot fireballs fairly easily. But now she looked much cooler doing it, so she took that as a big win.

Epilogue 165 - Boulevard Basher by Mr-DNA

Angela faced her opponent. She felt a bead of sweat forming on her forehead, but she did not allow it to distract her. One wrong move, and all her training would be for naught. Her hands begn to glow as she focused her chí. She deftly rolled the joystick in two rapid semicircles and mashed both punch buttons. She had done it! A 24-hit Golden Palm Strike Mega Combo Finish!

A highly compressed "ANA NG, WIN! PERFEC!" blared from the speaker as another challenger walked away. Angela was a little disappointed that she was left hanging for the post-match fist bump, but her glowing hands intimidated a lot of the players in the arcade. Her hands were skilled enough for real battles, not just pixelated ones, but Angela couldn't see herself hitting people. She was a quick learner and even fiercer competitor, and her magically acquired costume being a dead ringer of a Boulevard Basher III fan favorite made her an instant celebrity among Underborough's fighting game communtiy. Her powers were better suited for fighting games, as well as the occasional flashy victory pose. All that focused magic had to be released somewere, after all.
