if they do truly only take it by one vote, it may mean the absolute worst of Trump will be avoided as there are some Republicans who say if they pass the national abortion band would absolutely lose their job because they’re in districts that are right next to ****ing LA. But that is little comfort

This is exactly what I've been saying. Trump has been manufacturing this alternate reality where he's the one protecting democracy from "voter fraud" and "noncitizen voting" and Democrats are the ones trying to steal elections. And Democrats did not have a response to his horse****.

The ONLY way to respond to a liar who makes **** up is to call him a liar. And Democrats did not do it.

And unfortunately rather close to having Democrats win the house. Ground lost in North Carolina and Pennsylvania though. (PA was close with about 12,000 votes combined for two districts; North Carolina was partisan redistricting)

@Rylo Ken A cup of coffee says Bidens approval rating will slowly but steadily once he leaves office. Obama is much more popular after leaving office then he was during it. Americans thanks to our poor education overall system + being spoiled like no other country in the planet has the attention span of a goldfish. Trump has you mention will have one of the lowest approval ratings entering office as i think it's safe to say it will be the lowest in history as his approval rating according to exit polling was around 45% meaning for the third time in a row about 5% of people voted for him even though they think he sucks aka he has the name in front of his name.

And Trump is going into office with winning the popular vote with around 1-1.5% by the time the count ends. That is smaller then GWB in 2004 and is the second smallest margin this century. The only ones smaller was when he and GWB won the electoral college without the popular vote. So his mandate while he has won is not that big as one would think he focus on passing bi partisan issues. Obviously being Republican he has to pass a massive tax cut for the rich because it's part of their religion but GWB at least tried to be a bi partisan and push for a few popular items when education reform even No Child Left Behind was pretty crappy onto I saw MAGAs plans. But Trump thinks his "mandate" of winning by 1.5% nationally means destroying the federal government starting with dismantling the department of education (Enjoy red states as you will have no funding for education).

And Rosen got a big push today so if she wins, that means three white females from swing states were able to win their elections. Anyone who doesn't think Harris was hurt a bit by being a Black woman in an election that was more white then expected is sorely mistaken.

@Jedi Knight Fett Except in raw numbers it won't be a landslide. Crazy as it sounds there are tons of votes still to be counted and a significant portion will go to Harris as by the time it finally gets counted in a few weeks he would have won the popular vote as I mention above by around 1.5% of the vote or so. GWB got just over 2% of the popular vote in 2004 and only got 286 electoral votes. That is how messed up the Electoral College is and it's only going to get worse as more Democrats I think will move towards safe blue states for obvious reasons if they can. The House being so close is reflective of how close the presidential election was, not the EC or senate as that shows you how land votes now.

@DarthIshyZ Again Democrats should walk in vote no on everything and walk out. Let the Republicans own it as it's going to be pretty.

@Alpha-Red Regrettably not enough Americans care about stuff like that. Sad as it sounds Harris biggest mistake perhaps was stopping with the insults. Again whoever the Democrats put up in 2028 better be a firebrand.

Yes, we need a firebrand. A progressive firebrand, a moderate firebrand, whatever. But we need a firebrand.

None of that will matter. The truth is whatever Trump says is true.

There is absolutely zero hope for America and probably for the world.

I think we're in for a very dark time. We're going to lose a lot of people, there will be a lot of suffering. But eventually those of us who are still alive will need to step up to end this madness, because we will simply have no choice.

Not to pour salt in a wound, but they don’t need to pass a national abortion ban—they already have one. It’s called the Comstock Act, and all the Department of Justice has to do under a Trump administration is declare that it is still good law and enforce it. Expect raids into pharmacies to remove birth control pills, followed by entry into private homes to make sure people are not violating the law.

I expect succession by California at the very least shortly after the midterms in 2026.

What will that matter to the electorate? It won't. The MAGAts will still get their info from Faux News (Fair And Balanced) and tweets. The rest can't get organized to get behind a protest vote. There will still be some splinter that must get their point across and torpedo the Ds election possibilities.

Even if all the blue states manage to secede, that still leaves nearly half the world's nuclear weapons in the hands of Trump or Vance.

What, are we supposed to believe that the like 2 million people who didn't vote make more of a difference than the 45,000 that voted for Jill Stein?

With more of the popular vote in, they've updated what were the preliminary exit polls, no longer an even +10 gender split.

    The manvalanche arrived for Republicans:

    Gender (21 point gender gap)
    Men (47%) | Harris 42% | Trump 55% (Trump +13)
    Women (53%) Harris 53% | Trump 45% (Harris +8)

    https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2024-elections/exit-polls

Yeah, so, this was an electoral strategy dead end in 2016 and 2020. It brings me no joy to say the female candidate strategy has to be reevaluated...put on pause for a long while. Sadly.
