Glen Powell apparently flunked his Han Solo audition, but I'd love to see him in this galaxy.

 

We dodged a bullet there, IMO. Not a fan.

I agree that Powell wasn't right for Han specifically. But he's still got the smart aleck demeanor mixed with street smart wisdom to carve his own identity.

 

I think he comes across as more of an idiot bro than anything else. A bro pretending to be a smart aleck. With actors like Ford, I believed them. And they had emotional depth to them too. With Powell…I just see surface. I don’t know. He’s the type of American I just don’t…yeah. I don’t know. Maybe I’m being harsh. I’ll need to watch some more of his movies before fully judging.

 

His work with Linklater is most indicative of his talent. I've been onboard since Everybody Wants Some!! and haven't looked back.
