Exactly. You watch the first episode and it feels like it was season 4, but then the tone feels different because they're having to cover so much ground in order to catch up to the existing story.

Episode 5 bank episode definitely had a different feel compared to the rest of the season so far. I know it was more of sandbox/bottle episode, and even though I thought it was well done, it almost felt like an episode of Ms. Marvel or She-Hulk. Maybe it was the way it was lit. Or maybe the episode was trying to have too much fun when the other episodes have been darker and grittier in tone. So yeah, I wonder if any of the later stuff will feel like that but I'm guessing not since they reshoot a lot and maybe felt that they could keep the bank one and make it fit.

I think it's definitely the most "Disney+, not Netflix" feeling episode thus far, but that they both liked it for what it was... and still felt that it should be paired with a more Netflix-esque episode upon release so that it didn't kill the pacing and interest of the show.

I thought it was a good episode. It was serious and consistent with the tone of the show. It's the kind of story that was common when telling monthly stories versus writing for the trade.

It had a little more wink-wink humor, but frankly that's kind of part of Matt Murdock that sometimes gets lost. I felt it balanced out well and didn't feel particularly distinct from the rest of the episodes tonally.

It's just that the running joke is that we know what's bound to happen there, and the crooks don't. We even know what Kamala Khan's dad doesn't know, and there's an element of Matt seeming to know that Ms Marvel is Mr Khan's daughter despite playing dumb. He *is* a very good lawyer, and he did represent Spider-Man and Frog Man. Shagged She-Hulk, though I'm unclear on where Born Again is in continuity with She-Hulk.

Matt has a bunch of different masks so that's probably the biggest connection to She-Hulk we are going to get

Matt's Daredevil s1 suit mask had like little angry eyebrows on it, I don't miss it much

I think it’s unclear where everything and anything is continuity with She-Hulk :p

So I've rewatched Netflix Daredevil (and Defenders) and then Season 3 for the first time and Season 3 was truly some good television.

What's interesting is that this time around I've noticed that the storytelling regarding the Hand arcs were possibly the weakest. I don't think shows do the "mystic ancient society" stories well. I think they're relying maybe too much on impressing you with how secretive and mysterious and ancient lore and therefore the stories involving them (like the ones involving the League of Shadows/Assassins in Batman and Arrow did) aren't as good. And then you get to season 3, which takes place after the Hand was destroyed, and the story there of Kingpin manipulating the FBI into working for him and setting Bullseye as a rival for Daredevil was done just superbly. I always thought Bullseye was kind of a joke-tier villain from the movie but in the show he's done so well. Everything about Season 3 was done well.

    July 2024: Matt in NWH
    Dec 2024: Hawkeye
    May 2025: Echo, mid- She-Hulk
Aug 2025: Daredevil episode of She-Hulk
Sept 2025: Matt at the BBQ
Late 2025: Born Again episode 1 prologue
1 year later, late 2026: The rest of episode 1
After NYE 2026 and into St. Patricks Day 2027: The most recent episodes.
    April 2027: Brave New World

Looking at that laid out like that, it's interesting, post-Blip Presidential election cycle oddities aside, that Fisk, Ross and Bucky all got elected in the same year (or, at most, within a year of each other).

His appearances in "She-Hulk" was set just before this show. The multiple suits references Matt retaining the services of Luke Jacobson, due to Melvin Potter's parole violation.

With how much Fisk has slid back into Kingpin I imagine we'll get the white suit before the season's over.

Really felt this one was the weakest episode of the season; Muse storyline felt way too rushed.
We had a couple of scenes with Fisk and Vanessa doing therapy sessions with Heater but none with Muse. Felt like the fact she was already working with him all this time came out of nowhere.
Not to mention early on it looked like he was already killing people when he approached her (ep2 , right ?) but the dialogue made it look he only become Muse after the treatment started.

RON GARNEY represent! Was so happy to see that and I am glad that Disney and the DD account are acknowledging the artists involved with inspiring scenes and characters. I was thinking they'd use this moment and was happy to see a tweak. Of course, I happily cheered for Ron in my social media (He's one of my elite comic artist heroes.)

They also used another panel of Ron's in last night's episode, which he pointed out.

    Now last night's episode:

I was a little bummed that
Muse's story did feel rushed and would have liked another session with him at Heather's office prior to this episode to build his obsession with her.

I get that Marvel did not want Muse to have powers, but his backstory wasn't as classic serial killer trope as it could have been. Hunter Doohan was very good, though I found the taekwondo a really funny and wonky reason to set him off. Okay, athletics but still.

He was already killing people before seeing Heather.

Nice to see more of David Mack's amazing art and I loved how Matt used touch and his memory of Heather's face to feel the textures and blood in Muse's paintings to know she's his primary target. I also appreciate that instead of going hardcore on the baddies, Matt opts to rescue the victims as he did in the past.

There were some great things otherwise:

I loved that Fisk confesses to Buck about why Daredevil being back scares him so much.

    And other character hints:

Finally, Buck Cashman lives up to his codename Bullet. I've been waiting all season for that.

We start to see Cole North questioning his role in the AVTF (He was not happy that Fisk was lying to make the AVTF look good rather than letting Cole and the team do their job.)

Daniel Blade finally showed a hint that he might be Fisk's son, Butch Pharris. At least that made him feel useful.

This was not the weakest episode imo, it's unfortunate such a
cool villain was kicked to the curb so fast though.

The new red mask eyes look more like the eye sockets of a skull which adds to DD
being much more aggressive and almost killing the bad guys.

If this episode taught us anything it's that there is only one therapist in all of New York City and she sees everybody!

I mean, she's a high profile nigh celebrity therapist. I think ya'll are forgetting that Muse came to Heather's book signing before we saw him in costume and was giving stalker vibes. And that book was about the power of masks.

You are absolutely right that I did forget about Muse meeting Heather at the book signing. It still doesn't make it less silly that Muse, Fisk, Vanessa, and Matt are all up in Heather's biz.

Speaking of Muse, that whole plotline wrapped up WAY to quick and easy. I guess it was really just a catalyst for Fisk's anti-mask crusade but still it was kinda lame.

I mean, Matt was fixed up with her. So there's that. Muse is obsessed with her because of her books, and because of her status as a pop/celebrity therapist she's who the mayor goes to. I guess it seems oddly convenient, but it's not exactly illogical because of her stature in the field.

Muse is probably the most incredible, but then he's also from a wealthy family.

I do like Matt and the Heather's relationship. It's probably going to continue to be put to the test. Matt will continue to attempt to sneak out and provide lame excuses that she won't buy or try to fix as a psychiatrist. Also, she will probably have to deal with her own PTSD from recent events which I like as it makes the show feel more human. People need time to process and they did a good job showing how Matt isn't good at doing that so I hope it extends to other characters.

    Yes, it is interesting
but I feel he's going to confess, and/or she will catch him suiting up.
Margarita let it slip that there was a lot more of Heather and Muse in the episode - especially fight-wise.

(I only know her from The Acolyte.) It's just a bummer these moments were cut.
