Agreed. I really hope Play Toys continues to make Padmes.

We definitely need both. I'd be happy with Padmes in the outfits that I had made as customs also.

Hot Toys announced an Obi-Wan in Mandalor armor. I somehow doubt we'll get a Satine, but who knows. Wouldn't make a lot of sense to only make Obi-Wan. The problem would be turning her into a real life figure without anyone famous to base her features on.

Absolutely fantastic! =D= One heck of a collection; thanks for sharing!

I have to admit, at a glance and before I read your explanatory note, I saw this shot, taken at this angle...
...and immediately thought Obi-Wan was holding a green lightsaber![face_laugh]

Yeah no green lightsaber. Someday I'll be able to get my room fully reassembled again. I have like 3 different sets of Clone Wars figures. I'm not sure how I'll display them.

Thank you! I have enough items that whenever I can get my new bookcases I'm planning a shelf that will just be Anakin and Padme in the Geonsis white outfit.

I should be starting my new job in a couple of weeks. After I get paid I want to put this girl on pre-order. I'm not overly sold w/ their Leia, but I like the Rey doll. The face is a little bland but overall I think she looks like Daisy and the outfit is nicely detailed. The Leia doll's outfit looks great, her face really could use some work.

I'm hoping if these 2 sell well, we'll get a Padme or Queen Amidala next.

We'll see how things go. I returned my Queen Amidala to Disney when it arrived the front side of the box that had the crystal display area on the box was smashed in. When I opened it up there was a large dent in the plastic and one of the corners was crushed. I asked for an exchange. I sent it back on their dime and am waiting on my replacement.

Normally I'm not one to cry about boxes but she's designed to be kept in box. If she was $50 like the rest of the girl dolls, I might not have objected and would've just bought another one. But at $129.99 - yeah no let's try that again. I just hope doll #2 doesn't arrive in worse shape :(

Mine arrived a couple weeks ago, perfect shape. I’m disappointed with the face but everything else is wonderful. At least the play toy face is spot on.

Yeah she's kind of bland looking, much like the original playline Hasbro version of her. The costume is fantastic though so I can't complain about that.

Still waiting for my replacement to arrive. (Twiddling thumbs.)

I also keep pestering my friend Morgan. I have a huge order of lovely custom items that she's sitting on and needs to send me. I sent her a Parts/ Fireplace Scene Padme doll for her to finish up, a doll to become Padawan Bell Zettifar (from the High Republic books,) Leia's green wedding gown from the book "The Princess and the Scoundrel", and a Padme to dress up in her tan and maroon Clone Wars pants outfit.

Once I'm fully working again (I start my new job tomorrow!) I have a huge list of figures for her to make. I want many of the High Republic characters, and I still have a few extra Padme dolls that she can work her magic on to get me awesome outfits for her. I do have to dole them out though. She gets swamped and overworked if I give her too many projects at once to work on. I also have 3 x 16" Tonner sized dolls that need Padme dresses.

I do want to put that Ashton Drake Rey doll on pre-order.

Queen Amidala - The Phantom Menace Anniversary Deluxe doll from The Disney Store

For the first time since 1999 we were given a Throne Room Queen Amidala Doll - this time from the Disney Store. Doll came in a large, deluxe box with artwork that resembles the marble columns in the halls of Theed Palace on Naboo.

Doll is around 11". She comes wearing a fabric red gown, headdress, and shoes.

Gown is very well made with minute details to match the dress as it was worn on screen. The dress has quilted detailing and raised fabric. The gold designs are embroidered.
Headdress is plastic and painted gold and red detailing. She has one large "ruby crystal" on her headdress.

Doll has rooted hair and short black boots.

Face is white w/ painted detailing. Doll is securely fitted into her box, so I can't see much for her body. You can easily remove the box front and plastic cover to get a better look at the doll.

Overall I like her. Her face is a bit on the bland side, however, compared to the giant egg head that the Hasbro version had, she's an improvement.
Amidala has big hands which look a little weird, but they seem to be jointed at the wrist.
I feel they could've added a bit more of the fur lining or used some that was a little fuzzier to better match the on screen dress, but overall I'm happy. I just now have no idea how I'll display her. lol

Queen Amidala 15" Doll by Ashton Drake

For decades I've been screaming for "Star Wars" dolls designed for female collectors. Ashton Drake finally has fulfilled that wish. Due to financial issues I haven't been able to get the first dolls in the series, however, ther was no way that I was going to pass when I saw the Throne Room Queen Amidala as a doll offering for this year.

She arrived today. The post office mangled her box, but luckily the doll was in tact and perfect. Their boxes aren't collector worthy beyond as being a great safe place to store the dolls. Doll arrived neatly tied into the box. She had bubble wrap around each hand, foot, and her head was beautifully covered such that removing it did not disturb her hair. She had some funky wrapping around her headdress but with a little work it also came off w/o disturbing her hair.

Doll comes with a basic black stand, dress, headdress and body. She has an Ashton Drake wrist tag and COA.

Doll is 15". She has vinyl head/hands/boots. Her body is soft with wire armatures for posing. At first I was annoyed by this being used to Tonners or even Gene Marshall dolls that Ashton Drake made long ago; all of whom had full posable vinyl bodies. But the body is surprisingly NICE. It's hefty and well made. I haven't yet tried to pose her arms which isn't overly necessary for Queen Amidala.

The gown is beautiful. The gold embroidery sparkles and is beautifully well designed. The dress overall is wonderful. My one nit pic is that the embroidery design on the neck mantel piece is a bit large and I don't think the pattern matches the film dress, I believe the pattern should be smaller. Otherwise the gown is lovely. The fabric is hefty and although I would've preferred a more lifelike fur fringe, the "fur" looks good, not cheap.

The headpiece is plastic. I do wish that the top jewel sparkled, but overall the design is spot on film specific. The hair is designed well. I'm sure it's a wig that probably looks scary w/o the headdress but it looks great with the headdress. I do think the tails on the back side of the wig could be a bit longer but they look Ok too.

I'm also happy with the face mold. I feel that it looks like Natalie Portman and so far is the best female face mold that they've made to date.

One thing to consider, this puts us at 4 Throne Room Queen Amidala dolls that have ever been made. 1999 Hidden Majesty play line 11.5" doll - then we had about a 25 year drought before we finally got the Playtoy 1/6 Scale action figure, the Disney Store special edition version of the doll, and now this 15" doll by Ashton Drake. This is the ONLY non 12" scale version of Queen Amidala in this outfit. We finally get the checkmarks all marked off - real hair, embroidery, lush fabric, lovely face mold, and near movie accuracy with the costume.

In the terms of collecting - it is a CRIME that we had to wait to finally get this doll. For many people this outfit is her iconic outfit. We shouldn't have had a 25 year drought to add 3 more dolls to our collections wearing this costume. I will say that the new Ashton Drake doll is really near perfect. The couple of little things I picked out to complain about were minor. The doll is stunning. For Padme fans out there who collect, this doll needs to be in your collection. She's not as fragile as the ever elusive FAO Schwartz Tonner Queen Amidala doll/trunk set. And she's currently affordable at $199. Ashton Drake does offer payment plans...just don't use Paypal, you'll find yourself like me and accidentally order the whole thing at once.

The doll is currently in stock. If you love Padme, please buy her. Showing your support with your funds will mean they'll make more of her wearing her vast wardrobe of iconic and stunning dresses. This is what we've been waiting for and is the platform on how we should be able to get lovely representations of her amazing dresses.

I'm planning to transfer my collecting spending money away from Hot Toys/Sideshow and will work to get all (except Grogu - I DON'T need a 3rd life-size figure of him - lol) of the dolls up for sale now in the series.

Amidala's face was nicer than the photos, I'm hoping Rey and Leia will improve in person. You can order the dolls here: https://www.ashtondrake.com/search/star+wars.html

The attention to detail on that Leia is remarkable. Can't say I'm a fan of the super-long eye lashes but otherwise heck, even I'd be tempted. That's always been one of my favourite outfits for her. Everybody looked so cool in their Hoth gear (pun semi-intended).

The long eyelashes are a Disney Princess doll thing from the Disney Store. They could be trimmed down to look normal. She does look good. I'll end up getting her at some point. Just sucks that she's $50 less than the gorgeous Amidala doll that I bought.
