I wholeheartedly agree on those points. The third episode took a bit of a nose dive. I didn't quite get the Syril and Deedra relationship as I know that's what we may have expected, I just didn't think it would go there so soon. Eedy and Deedra in same room was a sizzle though. The wedding music truly didn't sound like Niamos belonged. I thought Steve Earle music sounded more fit. Goodbye Tay as we know what Cinta is brought in for. He is a loose cannon right now and needs to be dealt with. Cassian saves the day! I was shocked to lose Braso so quickly.

So after watching this episode I'm pretty sure I need a sitcom of Dedra, Syril, and his mother.

Loved this episode though the ending got me with the sad feels.

I'm not sure how we lucked into getting Genevieve O'Reilly as Mon Mothma but I'm sure glad we did, she's absolutely brilliant in every scene she is in.

Syril's mother is very Marie Barone coded from Everyone Loves Raymond. And Dedra handled Syril's mother better than Debra handled Marie, ever!

The Dedra/Syril homelife is absolutely terrifying. And Dedra really put Eedy in her place. (what a performance Kathryn Hunter puts on!).
Seemingly endless trauma for poor Bix. Glad she took out those Imperials.
Really intrigued of what role Cinta is going to play.
Mon Mothma seems to realize her world is going to implode on her and she's become euphoric.
Great action and cannot wait for next week!

Fantastic episode, things really hit the fan.

And as for the Chandrilan wedding music - nope, suited the episode and show perfectly. Turns out I'm into Chandrilan music, I'd happily listen to it day to day.

I loved the juxtaposition between Mothma dancing freely knowing her world is about to implode and at the same time Andor and his family having no time to mourn the loss of a character we've come to respect and admire, didn't even get parting words.

Fantastic first three episodes and boy did they stick the landing. Cannot wait for the next three. This show continues to make the empire look scary. There is going to be a huge pay off to the groundwork laid in the first 25% of the final season.

Man did Tay Kolma collapse fast or what. Didn't expect him to get so sloppy and so fast. Kind of wish we got to see him get whacked just to confirm the kill. Can't have this be a "is Mace Windu alive" situation where every new Star Wars content the question/rumor also is Tay Kolma alive?

Glad Bix survived, I had a bad feeling she was getting killed off in episode 3. In fact I hope somehow she makes it out alive in the end, though I doubt it. Sad though my guy Brasso instead died.

So very good start. Didn't really care for the misfit rebels on Yavin but I loved everything else.

Dedra and Syril being an item at the start of the season was not on my bingo card and oddly enough I felt sick to my stomach that I was happy for them? Dedra putting possible future mommy-in-law in her place was delightful.

Mon Mothma is great and because of this show she's becoming one of my favorite characters in the saga. A part of me wants a Revenge of the Sith Extended Edition with her scenes reinserted just so I can get more of her.

Next Tuesday can't come fast enough.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who felt this way! Cassian Andor remains the most boring character on his own show.

Honestly if you didn’t like season 1 there is zero chance you’ll like season 2. They’ve just doubled down on season 1

Thought the third episode was the best the first two were set up episodes at times I was confused as to what was going on in them but in the third one the Dierdra dinner scene was hilarious! And the way the Imperial scenes on the farming planet and the wedding scenes were mixed together was a work of art just beautiful and tense in the same way the Entire The Last Of Us season 2 episode 2 was! I read an article that said the third episode of this Arc was the best and he said there were a lot of people that found the first season boring I agree with him not that I found the first season boring but the feel is similar. I think people liked season 1 so much this season will unfairly be picked on because what can live up to that like the jail break out episode! He said the season picks up. And that any show takes a while to get it's footing!

What a fantastic opening to S2, and really builds on S1. At a loss for anyone watching that and not enjoying what they watched, after knowing what S1 was.

Frankly, I love that we learned so much about a planet's culture. That is something Andor has done very well- using and incorporating culture of each individual world so that each one truly feels unique. And here, we learned so much about Chandrila which, despite its long history, we have known very little about until now. Seeing the three days of ceremonies, including the hike and then the entire marriage and reception was great. And Mon Mothma just balanced everything so well- a Rebel Leader, a Mother of the Bride, wife, Senator, socialite. The end with her getting wasted and dancing was just so well done. She knows things are starting to crumble and she finally allows herself to let go and let loose for one night.

Bet she had a killer hangover the next day though.

Did Luthen have Cinta waiting on standby the entire time he was there for the wedding? Does Luthen have other operatives working for him as guards and enforcers waiting in the wings for orders??

Actually, having rewatched S1 a few days ago, I found Cassian a much more interesting character in S1, and his arc being deliberately crafted and each 3-episode arc having a point and leading into the next one. Shot the Corpos, got involved with Luthen -> Has to do Aldhani heist -> Got imprisoned into Narkina 5 -> Came back to Ferrix where it started. The structure was tight and well thought out. Of course, I can't tell how it will go for the rest of S2, but in this opening arc, he is just barely there, and his entire role was action sequences, getting captured by a bunch of bumbling morons and then rescuing his friends. It feels like his "character" arc happened entirely in S1, going from loser who owes everyone money to a rebel, and now there will be just plot happening, and Cassian will be just kinda there.
I enjoyed S1. And I don't think S2 is as good thus far. S1 felt much more deliberate, consistent in tone. In S1, there was a build up, and the pay off in the final episodes of each arc was well earned. In S2, we open with an explosive action sequence right off the bat, we get stuck with a bunch of wacky goofy rebels on Yavin 4 shooting each other like a bunch of drunk pirates, and then playing rock, paper, scissors to square it out. What is it? It feels out of place, it dragged in a bad way, and it just did not feel like it belongs in a world that Andor S1 has set up. I fear this season will be just a bunch of lore checkpoints to connect to Rogue One: here they discover Yavin, here he meets K2SO, here is another stuff from Rogue One, etc.

As traumatic as attempted rape is, it didn't compare to the dinner scene with Dedra, Syril and Mom. I thought Dedra looked a bit worn. I'd attributed it to PTSD after Ferrix, but it could have been anticipation of dinning with Momma Syril.

You can like the show or not, but you’re missing the point of the scenes. The show is about the human beings, how they act/react in the face of a system designed for oppression. Our merry band of idiots have guns, a willingness to fight the Empire, and even access to Yavin 4, but clearly it takes something much more than that to launch a meaningful rebellion. Without leadership, without trust and cooperation they are a bigger threat to each other than they are to the Empire. Cassian could be the greatest spy in history and he’d still just be one man. Without reliable allies, the plan falls apart even despite successfully outwitting the Imperials. The gang being fellow rebels does him no good when fear has them so self-interested, what he needs is a Rebel Alliance.

    This!
    This!
… a cautionary tale in times of troubles for many galaxies!
    Also:
Who were Dedra’s parents? She says “My parents were criminals, I was raised in an imperial Kinder (or something like that) since I was three years old”
How old is she? When were her parents arrested? Is she some Jedis daughter? Or early rebels who tried to fight the emerging empire after order 66?
Also Brasso… I was on a train when I saw that and I might have audibly gasped “No no” oh my…
And Bix’s assault scene was beautifully made and was due to show the full extent of the weapons and empire can deploy on people to try to bend them in a war… and glad the word was said out loud!
Also the illegals migrants harvester subplot and the discourse they are illegal but we need someone to harvest bla bla and the locals protecting them from the raids… maybe this galaxy is not so far away after all?
Season two is delivering the way it should! And Mon realizing Tay’s betrayal and what is going to happen and reacting to her daughters “I wish you were drunk” and then getting drunk and dancing like it’s the end of the world because she knows it is… it is the end of her world and everything will go to flames now…
    Beautiful
Thank you Tony! I know I was right shouting my lungs out to cheer you on the live stage last Saturday eheheh

Also wild speculation: could Dedra be Luthen’s daughter? Mum killed by the empire Luthen flew… and he knows who she is that’s why he reacts that way in season one when they speak about that blond ISB officer?

I think that's a willing misinterpretation of what the episode was presenting. If you can't recognise deliberate comic relief to cut between scenes of the Empire talking about oppressing a people, or Mon having an emotional breakdown of the ordered killing of a childhood friend then I just don't know what to say. Not everything has to be dark and dour. This is a universe with Jar Jar and you're complaining about rebel soldiers showing mistrust and desperation that pushes them to a point of not even trusting each other?

You keep saying S1 was deliberately crafted as if S2 has been slapped together when we've seen three episodes and what we've seen weaves together pretty well..

Can’t remember if it was in this episode or the second one, but the best was the Imperial officer asking if the shop had peezos.
