I was under the impression from Razor that the humans were doing serviceably well against the Cylons during the war. I don't really have any idea, though, so I suppose I have to take your word for it.

As for Boomer, though, I guess I don't see how one heated comment in the midst of a military confrontation should trump everything she just gave them. I've got to admit, though, that I have absolutely no recognition of what your referencing, outside some vague memory of something about algae.

No, the Colonials were losing the war pretty badly, and there have been explicit references to the situation. In the extended cut, there were flashbacks to Admiral Cain's experiences as a child on Tauron when the planet was being invaded by the Cylons; the only reason the Tauron... ians (?) weren't wiped is because the Cylons just up and left. Also, the battle-- Operation Raptor Talon or something-- in which Galactica and the elder Adama participated depicted the destruction of one of only twelve battlestars with no destroyed baseships to show for it. The Vipers were clearly overwhelmed in the face of the Raiders, as their focus (in what was supposed to be an offensive operation) was keeping the battlestars from getting pummeled. The Vipers even failed at that; from the beatings we've seen the Galactica survive, the Columbia must have taken a hell of a lot, and probably the only reason its sister ship wasn't destroyed as well (or forced to retreat) is because the Cylons, again, just broke off and left.

The battle(minor, minor language) in case you don't remember. :p

I'm not so sure about how the war was going. Sure, in what we've seen it seems to be a Cylon advantage- but then the Colonials had lasted for over a decade before the Five reached the front. I would say it closer to a true stalemate- while the Columbia was lost and Tauron invaded, somewhere else the Cylons could've lost a whole fleet.

The other question that brings up is whether or not Caprica's story will reach the early years of the First Cylon War.

Are they trying to pull a Star Trek? Because someone should mention that this isn't the same. At all.

Oh well, I guess. The movie would flop since most sci-fi fans who would otherwise have been interested are involved with the RDM remake and have no need for yet another version and general movie-goers aren't going to spend their money on an old 70s show remake. My guess is that this idea gets shelved and they just hang onto the rights.

Funny but people said the same thing about the RDM remake as well when it was suggested as a series (how quickly we forget). It happened, this could too. To me being A FAN OF BOTH THE 70's series and now, more Battlestar is a good thing.

Episode *still* isn't up at SciFi.com. I really hope they aren't pulling the **** move and waiting a week before the episode becomes available (I know Hulu is waiting seven or eight days before posting the previous episode). That would seriously suck, since I don't get the channel.

Don't Torrent it. Only way I get to see it without a 6 month wait.

We do not condone piracy, thx.

    So, Boomer... yeah.

    Wow.

Helo and Athena got fracked this episode. Boomer really deserves to be shot. Up until this episode, I still had sympathy for Boomer. Not anymore. Boomer deserves to die, and the Chief should be facing the same firing squad.

Interesting that it took this long for Hera's otherness to become so manifest, and nicely subtle way to do it. I still think that Starbuck is a goddess. The other appealing possibility is of course that she's Daniel's daughter, and her father was the one that Cavil killed before wiping out the whole line. The problem with that is that it doesn't explain her resurrection.

Loved the "All along the Watchtower" moment with Kara and her dad. I was a bit disappointed we didn't learn more about what happened to her though.

And oh yeah, Boomer is EVIL.

So it was Watchtower she was playing. I couldn't hear it at all.

    I was RIGHT! [face_dancing]

I'd been thinking Kara was Daniel's kid. Interesting that this was a 'Head Daniel'. I wonder...perhaps this is some unknown evolution of the Cylons? These 'head' Cylons contact people who are in tune with them somehow?

And yeah, Boomer's one EVIL toaster.

Also, Karl is never going to get any again. 'How could you not tell the difference?!' :p

I had a gut feeling she was up to something. I just did not realize it was Hera she was after. She is very messed up. Well, I guess I should say "was" messed up. So sad Hera is lost. The next episode seems very depressing.

We've got only three episodes left for the Chief to discover what Tory did to Callie.

So wait, you people are telling me that I'm starting this series(I just finished Season 1, renting 2.0 and 2.5 from the library) just as it's ending?

    Well, Frak Me then.

My favorite line from Season 1: "No more Mister Nice Gaius!"

Actually, I found a way to express my reaction to this episode:

Wow, both actors have visibly aged q good bit since that episode. Also, the uniforms look different. Do they still have a leather band around the neck? If so, I haven't noticed it.

OK, I'm confused. Did Boomer crash on Galactica's hull or did the jump cause an impact that damages the hull? If it's the latter, I guess Hera is still alive.

Boomer jumped away "clean." The resulting turbulence of her jumping in such a close proximity to another ship is what caused the damage to Galactica.

It would appear (has never been explained before?) that jumping in a close proximity to another ship will frack things up.
