We'd better play better than last week! Though if Fresno St. fumble four times like they did last week the Aggies are going to be all over them.

Don't sleep on this team. They always feild a tough team. They gave USC all they could handle in 05. They have major talent in a mid-major conference.

    Right now- Fresno St. 22 - A & M 22

Also, Dennis Dixon and Oregon are destroying the overrated (maybe not now since APP ST.) MICH U. I though MICH would have at least some pride and come out like caged animals. But they are getting dominated both physically and mentally.

    Three OTs?!?!?!

    OH MY GOSH!

Coach Fran should be fired. He blew a 19 point lead at half time. Fresno St. could do nothing right in the first half. Then Fran decided that the game should be more interesting and he'd call the same play (that didn't work) for the rest of the game. Let's give the ball to Goodson, who usually can work magic, but Fresno St. had his number all afternoon. But hey, eventually it'll work.

    [head_desk]

The defense tried their hearts out though. We still need to work on pass coverage, cuz that's where most of Fresno St. yardage came from on third downs.

First OT. We'll continue to try the same play that isn't working. Then McGee will get frustrated and run himself. Which works fine. Then we'll call a pass play, cuz those have been working as well all afternoon. [head_desk] So we kick a field goal and hope the Defense can hold them to a field goal.

    They miraculously do.

2nd OT. McGee and Lane work their magic and we score a TD, extra point is good. Unfortunatley Fresno St. is able to do the same after some discrepency, a ruling reviewed, ref announced that the ruling stood, then we waited 5 minutes and we had no idea why. The same ref came back and said the ruling was overturned. Then Fran challenged it. I really have no idea what that was. It was on the play where the Fresno St. guy released the ball into the endzone and the Aggie guy picked it up, but he actually released it before the endzone and it bounced into the endzone, so fumble, right? Well there was a roughing the passer called as well. The refs were highly confused most of the afternoon it appeared. If they discuss this on ESPN can someone explain it to me?

I will give the D some credit because Mark Dodge got hurt earlier in the game, and was playing injured (still in on most of the tackles), but then he got hurt again, so I'm worried about that as he's our best defenseman right now.

3rd OT. Now if they score a TD, they HAVE to go for 2 points. I've never seen this before. So the Aggies take the ball, give it to the J-Train and he's unstoppable. He even got the 2 points cuz it takes three guys to tackle him and he still just powers forward. Fresno St. gets the ball, ends up scoring a TD. Goes for the pass on the 2 point conversion and miraculously an Aggie defender had decided to play pass coverage and knocks the ball away.

Aggies win. I was outside in 103 heat index for 6 hours supporting my team. I am incredibly sunburnt.

We won, so no suicide watch, but....Fran....

    *sigh*

This won't hold up against the Big XII teams.

Current games I care about: Go USF! Go TCU!

BTW, horsey, I find it funny you want to fire your coach after a win. Isn't that the point? to win? And didn't he do that? I'd wait till he actually blows a game or two this year to call for his job. At least you didn't lose to a I-AA team. [face_michigan_sucks]

So, I should bring up the three blown games last year as reasons to fire him?

Bad play calling caused that game to go into OT.

I just find it humorous, that's all. I called for John Cooper's job year after year after Michigan loss after Michigan loss after Bowl loss. But I never called for his job because of things that happened in a game we won.

It reminds me a little bit of firing a coach for only making a BCS game, and not the BCS title game.

I'll see if the rest of the Aggies agree with me. Look for Mail Call stuff from the newspaper in here on Monday if they do. :)

It just seems to be that he's giving us the same stuff every year. He recruits well and then can't coach them on the field. I don't know if it has to do with promises. There was no reason to keep giving Goodson the ball when he was getting tackled for a loss or only got a yard for three straight downs. Try something else! Goodson isn't our only ball carrier.

We lucked out. That call that I don't understand gave the Aggies a second chance, because otherwise they would've had the ball on the 2 and we wouldn't have stopped their running back for 4 downs.

OU did great today. The coaching was awful in the first half (I swear, Miami was running the same pass play all the way down the field), but the defense showed real heart. They made not just one, but two goalline stands. One was negated on a horrible pass interference call, but I was still impressed. The offense also did nicely against a very fast Miami D. Overall, I'd say OU is playing just about the best football in the country at this point. We'll see how it holds up, but I'm reallly excited about our chances.

Also a great win for South Carolina. They have a real shot in the East. Go Spurrier!

Believe me, I know what you're saying. If you want to see the definition of recruited well, but didn't perform as well in-game, look up the John Cooper-era Buckeyes. But the fact remains, if every single game this year turned out the exact same way this game turned out, you probably wouldn't be calling for his job, would you?

BTW, glad LSU is taking away my need to flip between games. Now I can just focus on the USF-Auburn game.

I don't know why you are complaining. Fresno State is a good team. The WAC is a tough conference, not elite, but tough. Go ask Oklahoma how well Boise St. played last year. Texas A&M went with their bread and butter to win the game. They had a strong, powerful running attack that overwhelmed the Fresno St. Defense.

Fresno St. has a good offense, with good athletes. On any given day they could beat a good team from any conference.

    Ok, ok.

*holds up her hands in defeat*

Fran can have the rest of the season. I'm not sure I'd survive if every game went into triple OT and we won by 2 points. Pretty sure I'd have a heart attack by the third or fourth one of these.

DRHJ9 - My problem is that the first half was all A&M. Fresno St. could do nothing. They threw an interception, fumbled, got a safety, couldn't stop the Aggie offense.

Then Fran literally gives the game to them.

lol...all I am saying is hold your head up! It was a good win against a tough team. I know what you are saying, but winning tends to make one feel better, right?

    Horsey: Enjoy Fran :D

I'm still happy with Alabama's performance against Vandy, we beat the spread pretty well. Terry Grant hit ~175 yards on the rush, and the O-line blocked well for him. Good Good Good. The Defense got good pressure (better than they did against Western Carolina). My only cause for concern is JPW's "happy feet" and him throwing scared (off the back foot) instead of stepping up into the pocket.

Next week vs Arky should be interesting, I think if we can win that one we have a good shot vs Georgia (who went down to SCAR), FSU, and go into Tennessee game undefeated.

    Also, GO USF.

followed by a LOL@Michigan Redux. LOL@Domers Redux (Notre Dame), LOL@Miami (THUGU) and LOL@Vtech (THUGU II).

Seriously I hate LSU (but want them to be #2 going into Tuscaloosa) but anyone creaming Vtech is a good thing.

Its a pity Southern Miss and TCU couldnt finish off Tennessee and Texas repectively.

    EDIT:

    Pass the Crimson Kool-Aid.

The same ESPN guys who awarded Ohio State the national title (in a game against USC) after they beat Michigan last year? :p

BTW ... : ... looks like TCU's gonna fall short in their attempts to upset Texas :(

Oklahoma lost because of their own coaching staff, not because of the other team. I honestly think Stoops deserved to be fired.

Was it the same guy? I didn't hear the quote, I tend to ignore the ESPN announcers cuz they don't ever like A&M, but someone told me that quote from last week.

Please, ESPN hates A&M ?, clearly you haven't heard how they talk about US. Compared to that little furor their lambasting on Michigan is tame.

Lets see... in Tallahassee, FSU (grad) student... home game against UAB... and I decide not to go in favor of watching USC-UGA on TV. DEFINITELY the right decision. Oh, FSU won... after trailing 17-3 *wince*, coming back to win 34-24, but I scarcely care about that in comparison to the other game.

BIG statement win for my Gamecocks today, winning Between the Hedges for the first time since '01, getting a first quarter lead and never letting go of the lead after that. They made me nervous (I was pacing around the room for the last half of the fourth quarter) and the defense gave up some yards in the second half, but didn't break. The much-maligned defense, which didn't play well against UL-Lafayette last week and everybody (including Corso, enemy of Gamecock fans everywhere) said Georgia would run all over them and destroy them... and the defense held UGA to something like 2/15 on third down, and to ZERO touchdowns. Four field goals, granted, but no touchdowns. Also, ZERO turnovers for SC, and none for Georgia until Jasper Brinkley picked off Matt Stafford with about 10 seconds to go, effectively ending the game. Great job managing the game by Blake Mitchell, very effective in the passing game and good decision making, good job running the ball by Cory Boyd, great job receiving by Kenny McKinley... solid performance, and something I hope to see more of out of SC as the year goes on.

Figured you'd have something to say on the SC game, Rogue. That was a quality stand late in the game to hold on for the win.

Anyone see the end of the Hawaii game and can fill me in on what happened?
