3P0 voice added to my non-SE video?

I was watching my old VHS non-SE videos today and notice something. I have an old copy of Star Wars taken from a early 80s realease. There is a scene with in the Death Star when they found out Liea is being held there. They show a close up of a computer screen, no one is talking. Now I also have a late 80s (or early 90s) release. This is a big box set with a hologram on the box. At this same part, it shows the screen but 3P0 is talking about the tracker beam. Anyone else have notice this? Why was it added? Was anything else added?

 

There's different versions of this movie. There are other scenes that were altered slightly, such as the Stormtroopers chasing Han clip, where he avoids capture by jumping through the gap in the closing blast doors. In one version, the Stormtroopers say nothing. In another, the Stormtroopers say, "Close the blast doors!", and in a third version they say, "Close the blast doors!" and when Han jumps through, they say, "Open the blast doors!" And it's the same with the 3PO section. Why Lucas does this, release different versions of the same film is beyond me. Maybe someone else can answer that one for us?

 

I have the answer: As an artist, there will always be things that you want to do to improve your work. Most filmmakers suppress this feeling though. I think Lucas is right to do what he does.
Can´t wait for the final editions!

They raced and and instead of medals they were painted gold and silver for winner and second.

 

I've noticed that missing C3PO part. I believe it was removed in the "THX" version, and then re-added to the SE. My original release had it, and since that's the version I watched all the time as a kid, it's very noticable when it's missing.
