Too bad thelightsaber.com isn't around anymore. That site had lightsaber pictures for tons of characters (although a few are fanmade characters).

 

No one cares about Lightsaber Hilts?

 

So nearly every source tells us that the creation of a lightsaber is an incredibly personal journey for a jedi.

However, that is the explanation for the multiple identical hilts they have in AOTC??

 

That's just the prop guy being lazy!

 

One explantion I heard is that having a similar lightsaber hilt is a homage or remembrance of your master or a friend, by copying their lightsaber hilt when you make your own.

 

So apparently every Jedi in the geonosis arena, with the exception of our main characters, of course, copied the styles of four different masters....

Well IU, that could be an example of the complacency and frozen state that the Jedi has been trying to maintain for thousands of years. Even their lightsaber designs didn't change.

 

I cracked up when I saw one of the Jedi throw a couple of lightsabers Obi-wan and Anakin's way in AOTC. An hour earlier, the weapon was this deeply personal thing you should never lose; an hour later, some random dude is tossing them out of a grab bag.

 

"Get your lightsabers! Blue, green, purple, whatever you like!"

What I like is the ancient lightsabers by the Jedi like Odan Urr. They didn't have batteries, but extension cords!

Wouldn't that be an easy target for a Sith?

So what's the story about the stormtrooper saber? is it from the insider story about the clones who wore the armor and used sabers? that's the only instance of lightsaber wielding stormies i can think of

 

Well they did have extra lightsabers for training so my assumption was that someone did bring a bag of extra's along with them.

 

I suppose it could've been a natural assumption that Anakin and Obi-Wan, as prisoners, would be disarmed.

I think the Dark Woman has the coolest hilt

 

He's Tomcat, if you've read Jedi vs. Sith. If you haven't, he's a kid. And he never had his own saber. That saber has to be either Torr Snapit's or Kiel Charny's (he took sabers from both).

The only stormie with a sabre I know if is the McQuarrie Concept art/figure. Is there another instance?

I beleive the lightsaber was created for refrence to the art of the Vader vs. Force Sensitive Stormtroopers in Insider 85

I like obi-wan's from TPM and AOTC the best. I like ANAKin's the least.
