I slowly reach for the pager, but ask Samara, "What do you mean our mission is false?" I walk over and sit near her.

 

IG: PAGER: IT says to all who check their pages," REPORT IN IMMEDIATELY"

IG: Richards: its odd but it looks like Sykes just flirted with you using his eyebrow. Wierd.

IG: ALL:
At the sight of you checking your pages Samara gives Richards the pen as he sits down and says, "Ahh, well it seems its my time to go, there are alot of things I wanted to share with you but there is no time. If you dont trust me, then test my information. When you get to The City and see the 'terrorists', tell them youre from The Department and that Issabelle sent you, Thats my code name. And that is NOT a pen!

(OOG: Also feel free to roll sense motive if you want, remember, I know you are all expert roll players so I wont be telling you what to roll all the time. So when you want to bluff or sense motive or what ever, just say it and its done...you might miss a WHOLE LOT if you wait for me to tell you to roll something )

IG: with that, she stands up promptly and walks out of the bungalow.

Veronica: You see Samara leave and quite hurredly too.
She stops and says to you," remember, not everything is what it seems. Test all things and you will find truth." She gives you a pen like the one she showed the feds, " this is not a pen, if you take it apart, youll see its a 1 Gb thumb drive. We may never see eachother again but I want you to know that i saw that you have a talent that no one has seen as of yet. Use it. If you do many many doors will open for you. With that she runs toward the jeep, jumps in, and speeds off with the headlights off.

I look for a piece of paper to test if this "pen" can write.

I say to Sykes in an irritated voice, "What the hell was that look about, man? And where the hell did you get that sonic gun thing anyway?!?"

Sykes: you sense from her hurried state after the pages that she may think she has been found by the "powers that be".

Williams: you sense that as well plus she seemed proud of the name "The City"
Also, the way she said the word 'terrorists' made you think that she doesnt see them that way.

IG: you all see the dust from the jeep through the open door and Veronica standing there with a pen in her hand. she seems sleepy as well.

"Richards... what are you thinking? I just got an urgent page, but I haven't contacted them... I want to hear what you think first."

 

Hey Richards....she said it wasn't a pen....is that ink?? I don't think I've ever seen ink THAT red before.

 

Spot: 19 on the pen and ink. Does the ink change color to brown? (wondering if it is blood) "Does it have a gigabyte chip in it? Is that blood?"

 

I wonder when was the last time Richards got a haircut.

"Huh?"

In his thoughts, Sykes worries that he said something out loud instead of thinking it.

 

"What do you mean does it have a Gigabyte chip in it??? Why on Earth would there be a Gigabyte chip in it?"

 

OOG: I just make a single line to make sure it writes. No sense making something look like a pen if it can't act like a pen.

IG: "Forget about it." , I say with authority. "Things need to be sorted out before anyone... ANYONE contacts anyone."

I look at Veltri. "You... lock that door and sit down."

Once that's done, I stand in front of everyone.

"I am sick of the games that ALPHA plays! That woman knew who we were from the start, playing with us. Think back... remember the way she said "Fed" for everything... she was toying with us. And now she says that our mission is "false" and that these aren't even terrorists we're fighting. What did she mean by that?!?" Richards pauses and looks at everyone, but starts again before anyone can respond. "And what about the constant addition to our team?!? First we were three, then Maynard, then Laura, now her." I say, pointing to Veltri. Then I walk up to her and lean in. "Who are you... and this better not be another game."

 

Whisper to Jank: That's what Veltri's has in it. She has a pen too.

I go stand behind Richards and look stern to back him up. I whisper "Richards, we never checked our rooms to see if someone has rifled through there as well. All our 'stuff' is locked up in there...."


OOG: how will you give out XP in this game, Inaen?

 

OOG: Whisper back to Talon: I know that but did we hear her say to Veronica that there was a GB chip in there??? Cause I don't think she said it to us...


IG: "Whoa guys...Let's just settle down. We're not going to be able to settle anything until we calm down. We'll just rouse cause more problems by acting rash. We need to just take a breath and think about this calmly and rationaly."

OOG: I will be back shortly I'm installing a new anti-virus program....my parents downloaded somethin nasty...be back in a few.

 

The liquid of the pen makes a thin red line on the item Richards is righting on. Its a thin red line.
The pen is quite elaborate, burgandy color on black and gold with a golden vine that seems to wrap its self in intricate pattern around the pen from top to bottom. its a little heavy as well.

After a few minutes, the liquid line seems to dissapear.

Richards: Maynard walks up to you, "Sir, you and I have both worked for ALPHA a while now. I dont see them playing games, but what of this woman?" he gestures to the dust settling in the bungalow, "Was she truly from ALPHA?"

He sits on the couch, "Im sorry if you dont think were doing our jobs ,but LAura and I were added on just like Williams and Sykes and you seem fine with them. Were here to obey orders and sir, excuse me for saying, but I think you are close to being insubordinate. We all just got paged by our C-SFO and the page said Report immediately, but we are not doing that. Forgive me for saying this but I think we should get moving with that report or we may get introuble and I aint getting dishonorably discharged for insubordination. Also she DID say terrorist, I didnt hear her say they were not. Do you know something we dont......sir?

 

OOG: I am back...stupid file was corrupted.


IG: "Something about the way she referred to Mirage City and the terrorists seemed a bit odd to me. The way it seemed to me was she doesn't think of them as terrorists at all. Though I can't say what she does think of them as. And she said something about us telling the terrorists that we were with The Department....Hey Sykes...didn't Mack mention something about a Department? Also....I think it would be best if we did report in."

 

OOG: Inaen, could you remind me about what I found out about the department? I am at home, my notes are at work.... and is what Samara said to Veltri, was that audible to us?

IG: Hey, that red line you made with the pen disappeared, Richards. Weird. Okay, I was able to contact Stahl a little bit ago, and he told me there was a Samara that was with ALPHA, and matched the physical description of the person that was just here. Plus the ID looked pretty real to me. I think that she was definitely with ALPHA. But Stahl also told me she was supposed to be in Columbia, and wanted us to find out what she was doing at Nellis and report back.

If there is a deception going on... who do we trust? We either fulfill our original mission, or we decide that Samara's orders supercedes Stahls, and go that route....

Veltri, how are you tied up in all this?

 

I have a deep breath and a long sigh.

"I don't know what to tell Stahl. I think certain things must be kept from him. If our mission is false, we can't let Stahl know we're on to it. Maybe she was trying to warn us... maybe she was trying to trick us, but there's one thing I know from experience... never let the right hand know what the left hand is doing. Sykes, call Stahl and tell him that we're pretty sure Miss Espinosa is who she claims to be, and that she said she was "debriefed about our mission" and came to give us some advice. When he askes what she said, tell him that she told us how to get in with the group, and gave us a pen to give to the leader. Do not tell him that we know the pen is not really a pen. Also, tell him that she introduced us to a new member of the team, and give him her name. Do not mention her saying the mission was false, or the way she regaurded the terrorists, or that she mentioned the Department. Got it?"

"While Sykes does that, let us learn more about you, Ms Veltri, and then we can cross-check some facts. You still haven't answered my question... who are you?"

 

I tell Richards: "Consider it done."

I page Stahl:

"we're pretty sure Miss Espinosa is who she claims to be, she said she was "debriefed about our mission" and came to give us some advice. she introduced us to a new member of the team, a woman named Veltri."
