A Pod Race question

Does anybody know which pod racers finished the Bonta Eve classic and in which order?

...and which pod racers did not survive the race?

 

I guess either nobody knows, or nobody cares...

 

I believe Ratts Tyerell was the only Podracer to die during the race. All the others who crashed just got badly injured.

 

I do remember someone posting the correct order back before AOTC came out.

Rats Tyrell died and Ben Quad never started.

 

I don't know the order,but it seems like Neve Kee, Aleen Mak,and 1 or 2 others finished.

 

I think this was a question in the first TPM trivia contest. I'll have to look sometime.

 

Thanks. I guess I'll have to watch the DVD closely to find out and will post the final standings if I find out.

 

The standings are clearly listed in the book, "Worlds of Episode I" or something like that. I have the book but its stored away because my parents are moving at the moment.

I remember clearly that although we only saw Anakin win the race, several more pod racers survived and finished the race, but they were far behind. More people than Rats Tyrell died, I think, but I can't recall. If I get access to the book (which won't be for a LONG time) I'll post the stupid standinds.

 

Yea, it does say in either the worlds or vehicles of episode 1 book the order they finished, if I remember right, only about half the racers actually finished the race, everyone else crashed or had malfunctions, don't remember how many died, if any though.

 

So did anyone ever find out the answer to the origional question? I am really intrigued!

check out the comics "podracing tales", it has some details, a sample was available in the OS a few years ago, search in their archives! maybe I'll have the time to check it out, I still have it...

 

Since for some it's not spelled out I guess you have to come to your own conclusion if they died or not. Pretty sure the back stories are considered EU, but here's the breakdown...

4th Ebe Endocott of Triffis
5th Elan Mak of Ploo IV
6th Boles Roor of Sneeve
7th Clegg Holdfast of New Plympto (In the second lap of the race, Sebulba opened up his Podracer's flame-jets while next to Clegg. The blaze cooked Holdfast's engines and forced him to crash into the desert. Though his racer was eliminated in the second lap of the Boonta Eve Podrace, the official standings indicate that Holdfast did finish -- dead last, coming in seventh. There are some that speculate that Holdfast used his journalistic connections to doctor the race results to save his struggling career. ).

Did Not Finish - Sebulba of Pixelito (lost control of his Podracer in the final stretch)

Did Not Finish - Mawhonic of Hok (Sebulba rammed his Podracer into Mawhonic's. Mawhonic's engines scraped the rocky terrain, unsettling the whole vehicle. The Podracer tumbled through the Mushroom Mesa stretch, shattering into thousands of high-velocity fragments. Somehow, Mawhonic survived the crash on Tatooine, since he showed up a short time later in the Vinta Harvest Classic.)

Did Not Finish - Dud Bolt of Vulpter, (collided with Ark "Bumpy" Roose during the third lap of the Boonta. Unable to finish the race, Bolt recovered from his injuries at a Mos Espa med center.)

Did Not Finish - Teemto Pagalies of Moonus Mandel(Teemto's racer was hit by a potshot from nearby Tusken Raiders. Teemto survived, and went on to compete in the Vinta Harvest Classic on Malastare.).

Did Not Finish - Wan Sandage of Ord Radama (lost control of his racer in the third lap and collided with a wayward sandcrawler. Sandage cobbled together his Podracer and next entered into the Vinta Harvest Classic on Malastare.)

Did Not Finish - Mars Guo of Phu (Mars was taken out of the race by Sebulba. The Dug tossed a piece of debris into Mars' intakes, bringing the giant racer down in a terrible crash.)

Did Not Finish - Ben Quadinaros of Tund (Energy binders uncoupled, sending his quadra-Pod engines soaring in all different directions )

Did Not Finish - Ody Mandrell of Tatooine (pit droid was sucked into his engine intakes, crippling his Podracer.)

Did Not Finish - Neva Kee of Xagobah (Kee left the Boonta Eve race in the second lap, wandering off course in the Hutt Flats. He was never seen again.)

Did Not Finish - Ark "Bumpy" Roose (Roose collided with Dud Bolt in the third lap of the Boonta, in a treacherous area known as the Coil.)

Does anyone have picture of Neva Kee's podracer from the movie? I know that his racer from the episode 1 racer game doesn't have binders or those cables, but I can't find it in the movie.

 

You can probably see it in the second pan-over of the arena.
