Beyond the Saga A Reunion of two Lovers

Title: A Reunion of two Lovers
Length: Unknown as of yet, could be a vignette, could be a short story or novella, don't know yet.
Characters: Maz Kenata, a long lost friend/lover of hers and various pirates, and Jedi Knight Sav Malagan, possibly other characters. Chewbacca mentioned in passing.
Genre: Romance, Spring Renewal of old flames.

Note: There are two love stories in this thread, and the passing of years has made the second one possible.


MAZ's CASTLE was under Reconstruction-had been for years, since the devastating attack of the First Order. Maz learned that Sav Malagan had survived Order 66 and was now a Jedi Knight, and was paying her a visit, bringing along a friend who owned a diner on Coruscant.

A friend who owned a diner on Coruscant? Now who could that be? Lots of people owned restaurants on Coruscant, Maz thought.

Encased in Carbonite for nearly 700 years, preserved but far from dead, yet in his 60's if you take off the time encased in carbonite, Raf Thatchburn, his old Sibian Hound long gone, perked up at the news. Sav Malagan? Alive? After all these years? How? He went to a holonet kiosk and checked a people registry and after paying a lot of credits, and found out she too had been encased in carbonite, then thawed just before Order 66, then survived it, then reencased and hid away to hide from the Empire and just thawed again less than 5 years ago. They would be practically the same age! This was exciting news!

He was so happy. He remembered her fiery spirit well, the way she had showed him such respect and kindness.

Many hours later, in walked Dexter Jettster with an aged but still very beautiful to Raf, Sav Malagan.

Sav ran up to Raf, eyes wide, and they embraced. Maz was a little reluctant to embrace Dex, though he looked at her warmly and their eyes met.

"To be honest, I'm still hoping for Chewbacca." Maz said.

"Aw, he's got a family on Kashyyk, Mala his wife and Lumpy his son, who visits him regularly. I, well, I'm still single. But I don't have to be."

"Come here, you." Maz said warmly. And he practically ran into her waiting arms. And they embraced.


Not too many months later, there were two marriages at Maz's newly rebuilt castle.
