Actually, this was the first the village had seen of 'Grievous'. Yil tried to tell everybody about her 'spirit friend', but nobody believed her. That was why she was out so early; as punishment for lying. They believe her now, though not the part about him being a spirit.

 

This gets better with each posting.

 

I also think that the 'the force hates me' quote is very funny. And I am now officially part of the angry mob, so POST MORE!!!

ALL RIGHT ALREADY!!! Here's Chapter 21: Daughter.

It was noon before the party returned. Obi-Wan had been waiting for quite a while, so he was both relieved and exasperated to see the line of foragers marching home through the grasses, shirts off to a man, carrying various kinds of plants in bushels made from said shirts. Even ?Grievous? had his cape off to carry a sack of what appeared to be grain. Several of the men were soaked, as if they had gone swimming. Soon they arrived. ?We got a good haul,? the Kaleesh cyborg said happily. ?Just one thing? We ought to remember to bring baskets next time. It was very hard carrying this stuff back without anything to carry it in. Still, I?d say we?re doing very well in terms of food.?

He had to be in the prairie. She?d already looked everywhere else. Yil carefully moved through the tawny grass. If only she were taller! Then it would be easier to find her way around in this tall grass. Still, she had the strangest feeling that there was somewhere she just had to go, and that place was straight ahead, past this sea of gold. This was the same feeling she?d had earlier, she noted. She?d felt just like this when that magic sword flew into her hand. Something was calling to her. Step by step she followed that call, letting the feeling guide her. The grass parted abruptly as she stepped into a clearing, a clearing filled with strange creatures that looked a little like Kaleesh, but obviously weren?t. The structures that had been built in that clearing looked a little like houses. They were all bigger than her, filling her with fright, as she frantically looked around for a familiar face, at least something? There. Over there. ??Ancestor-spirit?? She whimpered her little nickname for him, eyes filling with tears. ?Ancestor-spirit!? Then she was running, running to him, practically bowling him over. ?By all the gods! ...Yil?!? She clung to his leg, hiding under his cape and shaking like a little leaf. Obi-Wan watched as she peeked out to look at him, then hid again with a frightened cry. It was plain to see that she was terrified of the lot of them, having never seen a human before. But that wasn?t what really drew his attention. The child glowed with the Force! It blazed within her with the power of a thousand suns!

?Grievous? knelt and held her close with surprising tenderness. Then, looking at his Jedi friend over his shoulder, he said, ?Obi-Wan, meet my? daughter.? It felt so strange to admit it out loud. He whispered to Yil, ?I?m sure you already know, but? I?m not really a spirit. I was never sure just how to tell you this, so I?ll just come right out and say it. Yil, I am your father.? As he spoke he held out the vssh-shell necklace Ylenia had given him. She looked at it, then took hers out and looked at it as well. ?My? father?? Not sure what else to do, she hugged him again. ?I knew you would come. Mom said so.? Feeling less scared, she looked at Obi-Wan again. ?Oooh, you?re all shiny!? The Jedi blinked. Shiny? A few workers walked by, between jobs. ?They?re not shiny?? Yoda entered. Yil blinked. They were the same height! ?Your daughter this is, Gavros?? He nodded. Yil proclaimed with all the straightforward innocence of the very young, ?You?re very shiny.? He actually understood this. ?My strength in the Force that is, child.? She repeated, ??Force?? He explained as best he could, then finished up by adding, ?Strong are you in the Force, child. Training you need. Teach you we can. Learn to control these powers you must.? She said, ?Like when the magic light sword jumped into my hand?? Everyone nodded. ?Wow? So I?m like Zai? He could talk to the spirits and make things move too.? Obi-Wan asked, ?We?re always on the lookout for new friends. Where is this Zai you speak of?? Yil looked down. ?The bad men came and took him away. His dad tried to stop them, but they killed him?? None of them spoke. They all knew what that meant. Obi-Wan said, ?The choice is yours, little one. Go home and live your life as a normal child

i think it's cool that yil is force-sensitive. this is going places i never would have thought of, but OH so cool. and i liked it that she got to kick some a** too, just like her father

Here ya go... Chapter 22: Twins.

It didn?t take too long for Yil to befriend pretty much everyone in the camp. Anakin saw in her a reflection of his younger days, as did Obi-Wan. Yoda was put in mind of all the sweet little children who had failed to escape the Temple in time. Padme saw in her the children she would bear soon, and as such she all but adopted the child as her own. The Jedi would teach her to use the Force, and ?Grievous? would teach her to fight.

Things changed a few days later, as Padme went into labor. Anakin knew right away, so he was by her side from the start. Obi-Wan was doing the best he could, while ?Grievous? and Yil loitered nervously outside the room. ?She?ll be all right, right?? He nodded, unsure. Neither of them really knew what was going on, so they were both at a loss as to what to do. All they really knew was that Padme was apparently in great pain, although she had no visible injury. And why did everybody seem so? excited? They were both clueless and a little nervous for Padme?s sake, pacing back and forth and fidgeting.

?You can come in now,? Obi-Wan said from the opening door. ?Grievous? quietly entered, with Yil right behind him. Surprise filled him at the sight of a very tired Padme lying in bed and cradling a newborn infant with a big smile. Next to her, Anakin looked equally happy if not more as he held a second child. Yil was in awe as she skittered over to peek over the edge of the bed. ?So Aunt Padme was havin? babies?? ?Grievous? was in awe just as much as his daughter. He?d never seen a human child, much less a human baby. ?Don?t be afraid,? Padme said to him. ?It?s all right to come closer.? Nervousness dissolved into curiosity as he looked at the infant in the woman?s arms. ?Do these little ones have names?? He kept his voice low and soft, as he looked a little closer. Padme said, ?Anakin and I have already decided on names. Meet Luke and Leia.? Yil had only one question. ?Which one is who? I can?t tell them apart.? Anakin answered, ?How about Luke wears blue and Leia wears pink?? ?Grievous? said, ?Color coding? Smart move.? Yil piped up, ?Wow, they?re shiny too!? Obi-Wan replied, ?Yes, young one, the Force is strong with them.? The little girl was excited. ?Grievous?, however, was just amazed, completely blown away. They were both so tiny? He could practically hold them in his hands; they were that small. ?Would you like to hold her?? Padme lifted little Leia up. ?Grievous? practically did a double take. ?You would let me? But I? I might hurt her!? The tired mother replied, ?I trust you, Gavros. You?re my friend.? He hesitantly accepted the honor offered him, holding the tiny baby in very careful arms. She?s such a beautiful child, he thought. Oh, Yil, if only I had been able to do the same when you were this young! Self-disgust filled him as he thought of what she must be seeing. All she saw was the cold, lifeless mask that passed for his face. No, she couldn?t see the smile he so wished he could give her, all she could see was the armor? A soft giggle echoed in his mind as the child actually smiled at him. She didn?t need eyes to see, she told him. She could tell, even without the Force, that he was happy and he cared for her.

Great as always. I don't think any mother who calls herself sane would let Grievous near their child, let alone hold him.

Evil Twin, if one of your best buddies was all mean-lookin' and stuff, would that change the fact that you were friends? He's still be your friend, right? Just because somebody looks all scary and crud doesn't necessarily mean they're mean or anything. "Your eyes deceive you. Don't trust them."
