GOD, very cool pics of the SW Disney event! Oh yeah, SW:R #65 was very good. :D I didn't expect Aayla's cameo to stretch 3 pages but I'm not complaining.

Congrats to Joe Corroney on being on the OS site now.

DarkSithDrew, as for myself, I got to meet with Amy very briefly on 2 different days during the 2002 San Diego Comic Con. It was really great to get a photo taken with her and Jan Duursema, the artist that co-created Aayla. :)

I did see the Unleashed Slave Leia...its okay. Sure, its pretty sexy and back in 1982 I was a pretty happy 10-year old. So, you trying to connect the steel-bikini clad Aayla(as seen in Rite of Passage) with the steel-bikini clad Leia, right? Well, as nice as the sculpt is...it just doesn't have the "soul" like Aayla's (or most of the others) Unleashed figure. ;)

Here's a recent EP2 "Aayla Secura" fanart i just saw over at the Fanart Museum by "thatstarwarsgirl". Seems someone liked my old Aayla sketch based on a Aayla vs Aurra Sing fanart i did. Aayla's pose originally done by Jan Duursema, btw.

    [image=http://www.theforce.net/museum/images/Prequels/Episode_2/swg-aayla.jpg] Wasn't Aayla blue? :D

DarkSithDrew, I had the pleasure of meeting Amy Allen on several occasions. :) (I saw Amy this past weekend at the StarDay 2 event in fact.)

Kampilan, it's great indeed that Aayla's appearance in "Republic" "65 "Show Of Force" spanned several pages and was significant as she not only comforts Tholme but is told the truth about Quinlan's (supposed) defection. I wonder how that will play out in the upcoming "Republic" #68 " Armor" issue?

The Aayla Secura Fansite features a report (with photos) on last weekend?s StarDay 2 event that was held in Paris, France, where Amy Allen (Aayla Secura) appeared as a celebrity guest.

If you were unable to attend StarDay 2, you can always visit the official Amy Allen store to pick up some authentic items autographed by Amy Allen.

Amy Allen (Aayla Secura) is scheduled to appear at the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con International 2004 convention.
Next to Amy Allen, comic artist Jan Duursema (who co-created Aayla Secura) will also appear at the venue. :)

An excellent opportunity to meet the person who created Aayla Secura as well as the person who brought her to life on the movie screen! :)

(The San Diego Comic-Con International 2004 convention will be held from July 22 to July 25, 2004, at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California.)

I've become very interested in Aayla over the months.

I recently completed the first draft of a feature film screenplay about a girl who gets cast as a background alien in a very popular sci-fi series... has to deal with fans and whatnot.

Reading about Amy's experiences with fans was very helpful.

And in honor of Aayla, I made my character's character a blue alien. :D

    Rick McCallum loves you!

Kampilan, I know Sofie Kenobi uses Photoshop to color her fan artworks, perhaps you can write her and swap techniques/tips? :)

    AdamBertocci, that's pretty cool. :)

Thanks for the great heads up, GodofDeath! The packaging looks awesome.

Aayla's logo font is just right: not too fancy or hard to read. The artwork almost looks like it could be a Jan Duursema artpiece...the style of the head and lekku is more her style and the pose of the lightsaber is common of Jan's style. Wonder if its the same artist that has done the carded artwork on previous figures? Something to ask Hasbro about...

Yeah, I have 2 Photoshop books and just need to go over it. But, sure, I'll ask Sofie K for pointers if I get stuck :) there is also a PS thread here at TFN too :p

Seems somebody heard me: the artists that produced the amazing artwork on the blister cards will be there signing said card artworks! (*drools) :p

I'll definitely have to meet the artist and go get me an Aayla one if I do go to San Diego...

StarWars.com features an article on the upcoming Topps "Star Wars Heritage" card series, scheduled for release in September the series will encompass all six Star Wars movies and include new randomly packed original Artist Sketch cards.

The article gives a first look at Artist Sketch cards, including this Aayla Secura sketch card from artist Thomas Hodges:
    [image=http://users.pandora.be/TheDeathscythe/Aayla/Images/ja_news_lrg_53.jpg]

Looks like there may be some Aayla Secura sketch cards among the "Star Wars Heritage" Artist Sketch cards - perhaps among the Artist Sketch cards from Jan Duursema (artist of Star Wars: Republic & Star Wars: Jedi) and Joe Corroney (artist of Star Wars Insider Holonet News).

StarWars.com announced that a daily comic strip "Star Wars adventures" will become available exclusively to StarWars.com Hyperspace members this fall. (Featuring two classic series and two all-new series.)

The second of the new series will be the Clone Wars-era adventure "Reversal of Fortune", written by Paul Ens with art by Thomas Hodges, leading up to the events of Episode III and seems set to feature Aayla Secura.

Thanks for the nice scoop, GodOfDeath! I did see the image but didn't know about the comic strip(I don't have Hyperspace). That's really wonderful Aayla news to add with redent mention of Aayla photos in the upcoming SW Insider(which I'll definitely try to get in San Diego Comic Con).

Pretty cool that TDHodges really seems to be involved with all things Aayla recently. I look forward to meeting him in San Diego as well as fellow artists Jan Duursema, Joe Corroney and of course, Amy Allen herself. Hope to run into some fellow Aayla Thread posters there too!

Hey all. I'm still reeling from ComicCon...can't believe I still got to go as it was pretty much last minute. It was a pretty cool Con overall despite it being bigger and meaner than the one I remember in 2002.

It was great to see Jan Duursema again and to finally meet Joe Corroney more formally this time. :)

Nice to see Amy Allen again even though she didn't recognize me at first because I had grown my hair back since then. Had to catch her on Sunday since it was sooo busy Fri, Sat. I think she liked my Aayla fanshirt but she wasn't able to get decent picutre of it. I sent her the original fanart last year anyway.

I'm disappointed in myself that I didn't even congratulate her on the awesome UL Aayla figure or even that she is even appearing in EPIII with an even bigger role...(duh!).The Con was just so crazy insane this year. Gave her some fanart and said bye-bye.

Man, I'm glad I was able to sit through the whole SW presentation on Saturday. I'd have missed the whole surprise(s). The DVDs are gonna be cool but I am really looking forward to the bonus disc.

I didn't ask for an Aayla sketch from Jan this time. I got a really awesome A'Sharad Hett one. :D

On August 25, Dark Horse is set to release the "Republic" #68 "Armor" Star Wars comic. Written by John Ostrander and with art by Jan Duursema, this comic's story is told from the perspective of Bly, a Clonetrooper Commander assigned to Jedi-General Aayla Secura. This issue will no doubt be epic as it will show the confrontation between Aayla Secura and Quinlan Vos, her former Jedi Master who has fallen to the Dark Side, as Aayla desperately tries to recover the plans for a Seperatist secret weapon on Honoghr.
