It was suggested by fellow Aayla fans that there be an EPIII-related thread. Now would be a good time as pre-production work is to start for the film soon. In AOTC, Aayla's cameos were strategically placed in key scenes but never in close-up, always in the background, and no audible dialogue.
For EPIII, it would be awesome to have close-ups and maybe a line or two. Since EPIII is to open up at the end of the Clone Wars a shot of her in Jedi Starfighter cockpit would be nice. More lightsaber action ,however short, would also be welcome. As for the actress to portray her...Amy Allen, the former ILM production assistant chosen on the spot by Lucas himself, is the obvious choice(duh!) and should reprise her role, schedule and personal commitments permitting. How about it?

I am all for it! I, too, hope to see some more of this Twi'lek. A good saber battle would do me just fine.

The only drawback is that she'll probably have to die at the end. :_|

    An excellent idea Kampilan! :)

It's a bit sad Aayla's role wasn't biugger in Episode II but seeing she was added digitally in post-production it's understandable.

I hope for Episode III she has more screentime with close-ups and dialogue. Action sequences and a lightsaber battle would be awesome as well. I only wish that if she is in Episode III that her character doesn't die in it, that'd be horrible.

As you said I too hope the one and only Amy Allen can again portray Aayla as she did so well in Episode II. :)

Here's my guess on any lines Aayle will have in Ep. III:

    "AAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH"

    //falls over dead

    *THUMP*

    :)

I thought that was Mace Windu's line when Boba blasts him?! I mean, we ARE supposed to see Windu's demise in this one but the other Jedi aren't officially confirmed yet, bub! :D

Ho-kay so enough "bashing"... I don't think we'll see Aayla die in EPIII either. As for lightsaber action, it might be kept to very minimum and the Anakin/OB1 duel more like TPM's Duel of the Fates with dialogue like in TESB and ROTJ ("my style is better than yours/my saber is more pretty"...)

Okay, so Yodaminch wants Aayla to destroy Count Dooky/Darth Tyr-anus and be assigned to the Jedi Council...

Me, I want Jedi Starfighter cockpit shots, close-ups in the Temple, some lightsaber action, entry into Movie Scrapbook, Visual Dictionary, coloring books and possibly the novel. Most everyone else feels the same way too. Two people don't care(so far)... let's keep it going!

Aayla Secura might all ready be dead. Remember, the battle on Geonosis is just the start. The Clone Wars have begun already and the Jedi are right smack in the middle of it.

Yodaminch, Kampilan, I agree. I too want to see Aayla engaged in lightsaber combat, in her Jedi Starfighter, many close-up shots as well as full screen shots in several scenes with dialogue and from the release date on plenty of mentioning in the accompanying guides and books as well as a novel.
It would be awesome if she would be assigned to the Jedi Council.

It's doubtful thats he will die before Episode III since she's already slated to appear in several comics during the Clone War.

Since the strong live, she will live too. :D
The Force is strong with her, that much is clear. A great Jedi Master she will become, not to perish in some futile battle. I have foreseen as much. ;)

Hey boys, just found out about this thread in here. Good work Kampilan. Whats with some of you guys??? Aayla wont die??? She will take Dooku's head and then go into hiding like Yoda and Obi. Seems like half these guys WANT Aayla to die. But we true fans know that that is not the case.

Glad to see you here too, Elven!

So, should Aayla have a significant part in Episode III or just a more established character? I don't want to ask too much from Lucasfilm so I like to keep it pretty simple and yet at the same time get more out of the character.
We know she is a test pilot for the Jedi Starfighter in the EU as well as her background from the Dark Horse comics. A Starfighter shot with dialogue would be a good start. She could be talking to Anakin or some other Jedi. Then in the Temple she could give some advice or something. That could be all she does in the movie and I'd be happy! A quick lightsaber scene would be okay...maybe evacuating from or dispatching some clonetroopers but a that's it. The real story for EPIII has to be told and not overshadowed. I really hope they don't show her demise in the movie just imply that there will be a hunt for all Jedi in the galaxy...that's just me. Let's hear your ideas!

I've been involved in a Jedi Survivors of Geonosis thread over in the AotC forum and we don't know if Aayla survived the battle. Most think she did, but there has been no confirmation.

But I think she will be in Ep. 3. For George to take such a liking to the character it would make sense to use her again, especially considering he used most of the TPM Jedi again in AotC.

However, I do not think her role if she is in the movie would be large. Ep. 3 is a more personal story than the epic AotC. The story needs to focus on Anakin rather than minor characters. I could see her in the Temple, in the Purge, in the Council perhaps, etc. But she wouldn't be involved with something as major as Dooku's death, I would think.

As for her death, I do think she will die, be it on-screen or off. While a few other Jedi do survive, the only main ones to make it are Obi-Wan and Yoda.

Hey there Adi Gallia 9! Wow, a fellow Jedi Starfighter test pilot to boot. Did you see the Holonet news art of Aayla and Adi posing in front of the D-7 Aethersprite? Sorry, I can't link it for you!

Hey, we could have Aayla talking to both Adi and Anakin! Anakin IS supposed to be the best starpilot in the galaxy so having the two testpilot ladies talking to Anakin in early scenes would just rock. I don't know if Adi survived or was involved in the Geonosis Battle but if she did that'd be great.

    You mean this picture?

    [image=http://www.holonetnews.com/47/jediwatch/img/story_1.gif]

    :D It's a cool picture, yes.

And Adi did survive Geonosis. She was flying above the planet in a Starfighter leading the aerial attack. And I'm hoping she makes an appearance in Ep. 3, as well. :)

Yeah, that's the winning ticket right there!
    Thanks for the link. ;)

I read somewhere that Adi was involved in the aerial battle above and Saese Tin as well. I didn't know if she landed like he did but yeah, I hope we see her again as well.

That picture is awesome. Man I hope Aayla survived, I think she did. I can feel it. I think that if Lucas keeps as close tabs as I think he does on every thing Star Wars, he must know that Aayla has an ever growing fan base and that it would really be good to put her in Episode III. I know its sacralige to say this so brase yourselfs. Even if Episode III sucks, there I said it, even if it did I, and I believe Kamilan and the other fan boys and girls, would still go see it just for her.

So................. give her dialog, or give me death..............or something like that. :)

True that, Elven: even if Episode III doesn't meet the hype if Aayla is in it I'll go see it! :p *sigh* I'll even see it if she isn't in it but maybe only once and wait for the DVD...

Lucasfilm has something going with our favorite EPII character and would be a shame not to take advantage of it. I hear her CCG Sith Rising card is pretty popular and hard to find? Awesome! And when her figure does come out just watch it fly off the shelves.

I don't think we are asking too much from Lucasfilm. I really appreciate his inclusion of Aayla in key scenes crucial to the overall AOTC movie but to the casual viewer they just can't see her clear enough. She is the closest thing to Star Trek's T'Pol or Seven of Nine...

Kampilan, I hope Aayla has a significant part in Episode III but I'd settle for several scenes where she has foreground/background as well as close-up shots. I do hope and pray for some dialogue and perhaps even lightsaber battle action.
She could be on the Jedi Council but doesn't have to be necessarily.

I do feel that she is one of the Jedi that will survive the Clone Wars and the Jedi Purges. Not only wishful thinking but seeing Aayla's abilities and powers a Jedi, her character it seems fitting.

Adi_Gallia_9, Lucasfilm has officially confirmed Aayla's survival of the Geonisis Battle.
    - At 'Ask the Lucasfilm Jedi Council', Jocasta Nu has posted a list of the Jedi present in the Jedi Circle at the Geonosis Arena, you can see it here. (Aayla is one of the survivors.)
    - Aayla Secura's databank entry at starwars.com also explicitly states she survived the Geonosis battle. I quote: "During the Separatist crisis that threatened to split the Republic, Secura was a member of a 200-Jedi strong taskforce sent to the distant world of Geonosis to rescue captive Jedi. In the massive battle that ensued, Secura was one of the few survivors."
    - She is slated to appear in several Dark Horse Comics set after the Battle on Geonosis.

    So she did survive. :)

And she will also survive Episode III.
