I thought Kylo Ben was one of the best aspects of the movie.

Adam, alongside Daisy, gave the best performance in the whole film. I'm tempted to say that Kylo Ren may be my new favorite character in Star Wars, but it's a tough call and I loved Rey a lot too. In either case though, he's definitely my favorite villain, even over Vader.

Kylo was, aside from BB-8, my favorite character in the film. Heck, he's probably become one of my favorites in the entire series. He was intimidating yet still human, and He was a character you wanted to hate. Pretty much a perfect villain in my book.

And Anakin never said that he "hated sand". He was talking about Tatooine after Padme was essentially describing Naboo, It makes sense in context, but its a great "laugh riot" out of context.

My critique of Kylo is that he came off as a petulant brat with daddy issues, and there was nothing to make him seem sympathetic like with Anakin. Also his short-fuse makes Snoke look incompetent for putting him in a position of power to begin with.

I mean everyone is entitled to their opinion.

But in fairness "i hate sand" is a literal line of dialogue and "i hate my father wahhh" is a generalized take on a character's motivating operation.

Ok sure, but it's also a mislead when taken out of context...

    "I don't like sand..."

Sure, not a dramatic difference, but a difference none-the-less.

Kylo Ren was easily the highlight of the film. The character was developed so well and Driver gave such an emotional and raw performance.

    Bravo. =D=

I love that he needed help to essentially kill him. That's what he was asking for and that was very sad.

Okay, I liked Kylo Ren. He's amusing at times, but he's also one of those villains you love to hate.

And no, I don't think making a villain a psychotic brat in an adult body is necessarily a bad thing. You realize why they are messed up and you sometimes sympathize with a little bit, but it doesn't change the fact that they are outright nasty.

And the part trying to push himself away from the light side kind of helps that whole anti-Luke thing.

I had a lot of problems with this film (nothing fatal, I still enjoyed it), but Driver's performance was great. I was taken aback by how young he looked, and his character makes a lot of sense with what we know. Much of his legacy and longevity as a villain will depend on how Episodes 8 and 9 deal with his future/past, but his scene with Rey and then with Han was really well acted. I love that we don't yet know what exactly his motivations are, if he's been totally brain washed, or if he's a bit like The Joker from The Dark Knight, where he'll say anything and do anything, an agent of chaos. It seems to me he desperately wants to be able to commit to the Dark Side, which is a novel twist as it's usually evil characters who have shades of the light that tempt them.

Kylo was great, the only thing I felt wasn't fleshed out enough was his reasons for being disappointed in his father. Hopefully, that will be explored in the future.

His offer to train Rey was really interesting. He clearly is intrigued by her power, one imagines he has not been surrounded by other force sensitives for some time. Was his offer indicative of some sort of apprentice plan or just off the cuff duel talk though?

Kylo was a tantrum throwing brat. I loved it when he smashed up the interrogation room and those two Stormtroopers did a 180 and left. Too funny!

I thought Adam Driver's acting was a bit stiff at times, tbh, especially when he had the mask off. He also looks like an evil Roger Waters. Or if you're a Dave Gilmour fan, regular Roger Waters.

Kylo/Adam Driver was fantastic. Magnetic whenever he was on the screen, you never knew what the hell he was going to do next - explode in range-tantrum, break down, or stay cool and be all the scarier for it. And for one who's still developing his power, has a mighty cavalier (and thus intimidating) ease with the powers he has -- thinking in particular about stoping the blaster bolt and freezing Rey --- he doesn't even seem to need to concentrate on it to do it.

    bravo.

Kylo Ren was so unexpectedly excellent in this. More interesting than Vader. Really loved how he looked like Anakin too.

Always thought he was a bit of a weird pick, I see Adam Driver in a totally different light now after seeing the film.
