ST Adam Driver (Kylo Ren) in the ST

Kylo Ren really sells to me the fact that TFA is a post Vader world. I love that feeling to be honest. That the story goes on, and these guys are the next generation. I like the ANH universe, but honestly, I need a break from it from time to time.

Adam was great as always. He always seems so nervous in his interviews but he looks like he's getting used to it.

 

Been thinking about it. The rumored outfit for Kylo in VIII would mean he would no longer wear a cowl over the helmet. Also, it seems his costume will be much like the one he wear on the duel with Rey, although without the "skirt".

I think it is clear they want to move him closer to Vader in terms of looks. The long cape, the lack of cowl and a newer helmet (which I speculate will look brighter, like the change from Vader's helmet from ANH to ESB), will make him look a lot like his grandfather.

 

He's always fighting the light and the dark.

 

Not really. He'll be wearing something like Luke in ROTJ which is far cry from Vader costume, in fact, it's shedding layers that he had in TFA. I'd say that his TFA outfit was more Vader-ish than this:










Compare Luke outfit to Vader. Definitely not more like Vader but less. Fans are too focused on the cape but the main deal is under robes, the layer shedding. It's actually a reversal. In Luke case, color coding was the point white to grey to black, but here it seems to be layer shedding.

Also, Jason says that his mask/helmet will appear the same to everyone cause changes are slight. And reports from Ireland have him fight without the mask which makes sense. Now that he has a scar, there's no point in hiding it and wearing a mask on Ahch-to would be ridiculous. I guess they'll keep it in a few scenes for toy sales but they certainly want to sell even more Scar!Kylo toys.

 

The skirt is called a surcoat if you're curious. And for an actor who has professed he was wasn't able to see jack with the helmet, one long layer not to trip on going away is probably a good thing.

Thank you, I am not a native English speaker and was not sure how to call that part of his outfit. Skirt was the easiest word.

What I was trying to express basically is that him removing some of the layers of his TFA outfit will give us the look described by MSW.

Anyway, I hope this man plays a gunslinger or soldier in some movie cause I'm sick of actors who can't point a gun properly yet are constantly playing such characters. I really like his action moves from TFA BTS too. he has convincing physicality for action.

 

Yeah I wish there was more behind the scenes stuff with him in it. Fascinating to watch. Really interested in Kylo Ren and Luke in 8. Don't care all that much about the others.

 

Honestly, Kylo could have killed Rey and Finn and I wouldn't have batted a single eye. I hope he gets more screen time in the next movie.

Les Miserables. He sings in it too (Javert), though not very well. Hugh Jackman, Eddie Redmayne and Anne Hathaway have better pipes for sure.

 

Crussell Rowe would make an interesting addition to a Star Wars film.

 

The way that the Kylo Costume is drawn. Really works, especially with the helmet off. But maybe because it looks Anime so that's the anime guy in me coming out. Hard to tell.
