    [face_laugh] You're right.

I was going to pick up a figure or two myself, but these figures are definitely aimed at kids and not collectors. Kids seem to like them, though. I saw a boy carrying one at Wal-Mart tonight.

Yeah, they're definitely aimed at kids, but that's cool. They have a few figures that are more gear towards collectors, but they fall short. If you're looking for a good Superman figure that's on the pegs now, you should check out the one from the DC Superheroes line.

    Growing up I had:
    G.I. Joe
Starting Line-ups - Mets players mostly
    Hot Wheels
    He-man
    SW

    My brother had:
    Transformers
    Mask
    Voltron

Now I am kinda getting into Marvel Legends not the whole collection mind ya mind my ol' lady would kick my butt just a few characters like Wolverine (favorite X-men), Capt America, and Thor got to have the god of thunder in the line up. I did have some NASCAR stuff but I got rid of it just because I didn't really follow it. I picked up the stuff mostly because it was cheap on clearance after the xmas. Can't pass up a good clearance sale especially at Target WW doesn't do too bad either.

I've picked up two Superman Returns figures, Kyrpton Smash Superman and Missile Launching Lex Luthor. The line is certainly aimed at kids but these two figures have pretty good likenesses, Lex really looks like Kevin Spacey. They don't feature any weird action feature in the figure themselves either, so they look just fine for displaying purposes. I've got my Lex standing next to my computer with binoculars in one hand searching for the Fortress of Solitude.

These are the only figures I plan to buy right now. I'll focus my Super collecting to the books and the soundtrack.

I've also interested in the Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest 3 3/4 toyline. The figures feature decent likenesses but at 5.88 a pop I'm going to wait till they are marked down before I buy any of them. Same with Pixar's Cars, I'll pick up whatever I like from the clearance rack.

Also I collect some of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer figures.

I picked up all the Matchbox-style Pixar Cars for my daughter (it's great having kids). I've also bought some of the new DC Heroes figures (Bane vs. Batman & Doomsday vs Superman) to pose on my shelves. The DC Direct Superman is also supposed to be on it's way to me from ebay.

Which DC Direct Superman, Roland? They make a ton of them, and most are really good. I have the Alex Ross based Superman, and it's amazing. DC Direct makes some fantastic sculpts, almost statue quality. They feature very little articulation for the most part, but I don't mind at all becuase I buy their figures for display. Alomost all of their figures come with stands as well.

I'm really liking that DC Superheroes line by Mattel. I have the Batman and Superman, and both are excellent. I just wish they had a stand like the Marvel Legends line. Speaking of which, I finally found the Havok ML figure. I got it loose at a comic shop. Now my X-Men shelf is complete.:D

Well, I have the both Batman and Superman based on Alex Ross's designs as well as the First Appearance versions. I won the DCD Superman Deluxe 13" Figure from Ebay, and am waiting on the release of the Superman Returns RAH Medicom figure.

For the DC Superheroes line, I just had to pick up Supes and Doomsday to pose in front of my Death of Superman book, and Batman and Bane for Knightfall.

One of the cooler figures I have (and I've got to go digging it out of my boxes somewhere) is a 10" Batman figure based on his first appearance on the cover of Detective Comics.

I have the Ross Batman too. It has to be one of the best Batman figures ever made. I also have the Green Lantern from that line. He's not one of my favorite charcters, but the figure just looked so good I had to get it. I have it displayed alongside Batman, Superman, and The Flash(which isn't the Ross version) for a little Justice League display. I want to pick up the Ross Aquaman. He's not one of my favorites either, but I want to add him to my JL setup.

I saw that Superman you're getting a few weeks ago at a comic shop. That thing is awesome. I wanted to get it, but didn't have enough for it at the time. They also have a Batman like that coming in October which blew me away when I saw pics of it. This past Wednesday they had the 13' Superman Returns figure at the same shop, but I prefer his comic look to his look in the new film so I passed on it.

When you dig that Batman up you should put up a pic of it. I don't think I've ever seen that one.

AWW man why did I have to have interests in more than one thing. Well if it isn't starwars, then it's transformers. And then the transformers have to take a seat for godzilla.

Today I stopped by a "collector's shop" and found a bunch of Sectaurs figures and bugs for 99 cents each! They're incomplete, but not in bad shape. I'm going through my "spare parts" bins to try and find some of their accessories. I don't know if this means anything to anyone, but the ones I got are:

    Dargon
    Pinsor
    Battle Beetle!!!
    Mantor x2
    Raplor
    Zak
    Bitaur
    Waspax
    Wingid--no wings:(

I really love this underappreciated toy line. I couldn't believe it, but the guy at the store said nobody else that worked there even knew what they were, and that's why they ended up in the 99 cent bin. I know they're not worth a fortune, but I was really surprised to see them this cheap. Especially at a rip-off scalper type collector's shop.

Can't say I have either. Were they from a cartoon series or something like that?

There was a very short cartoon series, and a comic book, but mostly it was just a short-lived action figure series. They were popular enough that a lot of people had them, but didn't last much more than a year. I don't know why, except that in my case they were just enough more expensive that I only got one until they went on clearance. They were a bigger (6-7 inch) figure. I couldn't find a good website that didn't have a load of popups or big, slow pictures, but here's a decent one that shows what they are:

    Sectaurs

I remember that toy line, never had any interest in it though. I've never been one for bugs of any kind, except maybe Spiderman and Ant-Man... :D

Does anyone know a good site for the Transformer and Marvel busts?

Not sure if they cover busts, but this is the best Transformers site that I've found. Maybe they'll have a section there.

    Transformers

I didn't have any Sectaurs as a kid, but they look really cool. I was a bread and butter toy kid... Star Wars, GI Joe, Transformers, He-Man, MASK... One of my best friends, who lived nextdoor, had a lot of the stuff like Blackstar, Go-Bots and probably Sectaurs too.

I don't know why Sectaurs didn't take off, they look awesome... Bug men riding bugs, what's not to like? I'd like to pick up some Sectaurs and Blackstar stuff before summer is over. Right now I'm in a GI Joe faze. My Firefly came today and I'd like to get 3 or 4 more Joes before switching over to something else for a while. So many toys, so little time and money. Took a look at that site, and couldn't find any info on the busts line. Thanks for posting the link, it's good info on the G1 toys.

I got back into a bit of GI Joe collecting last year when I tried to gather everything I could from the Iron Grenadier line. Every once in a while I'm tempted to pick up a new Transformer. Especially when it's named after, and looks like the G-1 versions of my favorites. Right now there's a cool 12" Galvatron I keep looking at but don't dare buy.

I saw that one at TRU a couple of weeks ago. It did look really cool. I might pick it up depending on the price, but I think I might just wait until the TF Classics come out in the fall to jump back into TF collecting. Even then I'll only pick a up a few here and there, because I barely have enough room for stuff as it is. SW and superhero collecting comes first.

Speaking of superheroes, my DC Direct 13" Ultimate Superman arrived last night. After dealing with a few harsh looks from the wife I have to say this is a beautiful figure.
