That's absurd and offensive. He forgot "in the passenger seat."

It is, of course, a comedy.

    But, still, no.

Next nomination: "There's a word for you ladies, but it isn't used in high society--outside a kennel."

Crystal Allen (Joan Crawford) in "The Women" (1939)

Good enough quote, and I've seen the movie, but I don't remember it.

She was smokin' in that movie. =P~

The quote was hot, but I don't know how well it caught on. Probably not a Top 100 one.

    I don't think so, either.

I dunno, it was about the only quote I can remember from that movie.

And yes, Melanie was rather fetching back then.

Top 100? [face_thinking]. Sounds like something from a XXX movie... Not that I'd know about that sort of thing. I agree Melanie was hot back in the day. Not a fan of the movie in spite of the presence of Indiana Solo himself.

Great supporting cast on that movie. Ford and Weaver are always good and then you've got Kevin Spacey, Oliver Platt and Joan Cusack. Good casting director there, for sure.

Next: "No matter what I ever do or say, Heathcliffe, this is me--now--standing on this hill with you. This is me forever."

Cathy (Merle Oberon) in "Wuthering Heights" (1939)

    And...no.

I prefer, "I am Heathcliff," surely one of the most chilling statements of absolute obsession morphed into utter psychosis ever written.

And I think you mean the book was better. :p

    The book was better.

Next: "My father thanks you, my mother thanks you, my sister thanks you, and I thank you." George M. Cohan's (James Cagney) closing stage patter from "Yankee Doodle Dandy." (1943)

I like this quote, but I'm not sure how current it is.

It's a very cool moment when he pulls it out at the climax when he's getting the medal from FDR. And I admit to using it in real life. I also admit that no one knew what I was referencing, so make of all this what you will.

Regardless, a classy line, but not top 100, I don't think.

My father used to say this all the time when I was a kid. It wasn't until I finally saw the movie many years later that I found out where it was from.

Priceless classic that line, amongst several other lines dropped in that film, possibly the greatest comedy ever, being equal parts comedy and faithful rendition of classic horror. Its really not at all a send up of the Universal Horror Films, despite being a comedy, but instead the ultimate love song to them .

Well, actually Young Frankenstein is parody of Son of Frankenstein (1939), if you have the Legacy Collection and the Mel Brooks DVD you'll identify alot of parallels.

SoF had Basil Rathbone as the son of Frankenstein whom goes nuts and revives the monster. Bela Lugosi as Igor, his faithful servant whom has his own nefarious reasons for helping the son. Lionel Atwill as the one-armed servant of justice, whom has to manually manuever his prosthesis.

But it borrows elements from the whole franchise.

Great film, one of the best from Brooks.
