After seeing AOTC, do you think the Kimonans look like the aliens from Close Encounters of the Third

Mock me if you will, but I think that the Kimonans look like that one tall alien from Close Encounters. Because ET was in Episode I, I had the crazy idea that Lucas borrowed another race(seeing how he and Spiegleberg are friends and all)

 

The line between "borrowed" and "an homage to his friend, Steve" can get kind of blurry with GL. I'm pretty sure he started off with the CE3K aliens (which look like all aliens anymore), but I think GL & his artists tweaked it enough to make them interesting, especially with their outfits.

 

Well yea, it's what I meant, thanks for defining it a bit better than I did. I think it's great that he does that.

 

I think he just took the idea.
And all aliens don't look like CE3K...can we say H.R.Gieger's Aliens?

 

Lucas is great friends with Spielberg. I believe I read he was paying homage to his Encounters aliens with the Kaminoans. You shouldn't find this hard to believe with the ET's in the Senate in TPM.

 

Well anyone who has the CE3K DVD knows that R2D2 is on the alien ship.

 

DarthPoke-G, you are correct in assuming that. In the book "Art of AOTC" it was said, "the clone makers were initially inspired as a hybrid of the Close Encounters alien and innocent, round eyed seals." Then they departed from that and eventually came up with what was scene in the movie. I thought the Kaminoans were very impressive species, from their look, movement, and sound.

 

They look a little like it, but I am not convinced it was on prepose.
