Microwaves can give you SUPERPOWERS, so I use mine every chance I get. Right now I'm heating up some potato chips!=P~

I tried to make my own potato chips once. They were more like a cross between french fries and potato chips, but I consider it my greatest experiment of science.

When my mom bought our first microwave in the 80s, it came with a plastic "egg poacher" and a "bacon crisper". We tried both once. Once.

I have a friend who swears by one of those plastic microwave egg poachers. Making boiled eggs in the microwave is slightly more acceptable than scrambled, but still not at all acceptable. However, microwaves do have their place. Plus with microwaves you can heat the food in the dish you're going to eat it in, cutting out some cleaning.

Um, not with an electric stove. Boiling water for pasta takes forever on my stove, sometimes if I'm in a rush I'll just fill a bowl with water and pasta and microwave it, it takes way less time and work.

Um, ew? Brown scrambled eggs? Are you kidding me?

I think he means the surface will crispen and cook differently in a pan than in the microwave. It doesn't actually mean that it will turn brown.

not if you cook them right. there should be no brown involved with the scrambling of eggs.

It's kind of like when you cook an egg sunny-side up. The underside gets all nice and crispy and, well, brown.

When the edges of a fried egg get a little crispy and brown it's a completely different affair than when scrambled eggs turn brown.

    But it's still eggs, Dani.

Then again, scrambled eggs have a little bit of milk [face_thinking]

I have an electric stove. Put the lid on the pot. The water will boil 10x faster. I **** you not. That is unless you have an old electric stove that takes hours to heat up. We had one of those when I was a kid. It was awful. Most newer ones can go from cold to glowing hot in 1 or 2 minutes, though.

I don't actually brown scrambled eggs; however, much like an omelet, they need direct dry heat that a microwave cannot provide. Microwaves can't actually "cook" anything. All they do is vibrate water molecules which heat the food from the inside out via friction. It's not natural if you ask me.

Seriously, doesn't everybody do that? It's one of the most basic elements of cooking.

And I think the idea of microwaving eggs is slightly disturbing, though, ophelia ,would love to have seen the youtube version of that :p
