I'm still wowed that the calling Baylan felt was Yoda's ghost who continually tried to extol the benefits of root leaf soup to him. Best use of 40 minutes in recent memory.

Yoda to Baylan "much like your father, power Jedi was he, powerful Jedi"

Baylan "come on, how can you know my Father, I don't even know what I'm doing here we're, we're wasting our time"

Yoda- " I cannot teach him, left his hot apprentice did he"

So amazing Baylan was speaking of the Dogabah cave this whole time!
Less than 30 minutes! Let's do this!!

    Quick prediction:

Baylan is the only one left behind.

The Purrgils return and the Jedi ride them home!

I liked Ezra using the parts to match his lightsaber to Kanan's and probably the best part was hearing the Kiner's work It's Over Now from Rebels into the score. Other than that, this was pretty mediocre. With the sad passing of Ray Stevenson, one of the most interesting and intriguing characters in Baylan will just be left to the wayside now. At least Ezra got to be home now. 6/10

This wasn’t what I needed from the final.

Sure we know that whatever Baylan is looking for has to do with the Mortis gods. But it’s still super vague.

still I give it an 9/10 for finally seeing Anakin as a force ghost

    Great episode.

I do wish there was just a touch more with Baylan...but everything else hit perfectly. Sabine's force moment felt earned and rewarding, although i wish it had a little more wow-impact on her. She seems so aloof all the time. And I do love how Morgon got used and had to stay behind lol. Sucker.

And I really liked that Ezra got home, while everyone else got stranded. Pretty much as expected.

More on Baylan. So it seems he's standing on a giant statue of the Father. The Daughter's statue, to his left, looks destroyed. And the Son is to the right of him, still intact. Looking forward to seeing what's up.

Unfortunately they’ll have to recast Stevenson. I hope they get someone who can bring the same energy to the role that he did. He was fantastic!

Considering he's tampering with unknown force god powers...it could easily alter his looks. So yeah, they could recast. Do a lot of make up, or put him under a mask.

Yeah, I agree Baylan will have to be recast.

EDIT: I predicted Morgan would be the one to die!

So what’s everyone thinking about Baylan? Recast for season 2?

There is a connection to Mortis.

We still don’t know what’s so weird or bad about this world that Thrawn and the Night Mothers wanted out so much. We don’t know what’s in the caskets.

I liked the episode. It felt more complete an ending than I was expecting. Not a cliffhanger really. We know where everyone is and what’s there doing next.

    Anakin was a nice touch.

I really wish they had shown Ezra leave the Chimaera. And why did they have him show up in Stormtrooper armor? He had plenty of time to get out of it before he landed in the hangar.

Really looking forward to what happens next on Peridea.

At this point I am leaning towards Nightsisters. Bring them back to Dathomir and reanimate them.

He's got an undead army that the Mother's can constantly regenerate. Again and again if needed.

That was so good. I agree more of Baylan would have been nice, but seeing Morai and the Mortis God's statues! Ezra reuniting with Hera!!

    So great!!

    Highlights:

    - Mortis Gods on Perida
-The father was the statues, the mother was destroyed and Ahsoka is the daughter.
    - Shin Hati seemed to pledge to the last Warlords, interesting arc. They have more plans for her especially in regards to her relationship with Sabine Wren
    - Baylan’s journey (reminds me of Moses’ from biblical times)
    - Sabine Wren not only is force sensitive, she is very strong in it. It seemed like her reconciling with Ahsoka unlocked
    - Enoch again was unimpressive (right in line with Fett and Phasma)

    Episode 8.5/10

A VERY solid ending to an unevenly written Act III for the season. Famuyiwa again delivers on the action, and the series’s abused visual strength continues. The emotional beats for Sabine and Ahsoka’s tale were perfectly hit.

…I am a little disappointed at how much of the show’s Act III seemed to be taken up more by setpieces than strong dialogue, setting, or character work (particualrly compared to the first two acts), but that might also be because Ray Stevenson’s likely last appearance as Baylan is completely silent, only hinted at having its reality explained through (admittedly awesome) visuals, and because so much of this epsiode and season was clearly just setting up that Thrawn is back in the Galaxy, albeit also continuing how Filoni still is it really a military fiction guy when it comes to writing him.

I miss the Lucas-style “Here’s lore, character work, and larger scale internal conflict for the main characters” substance that I think Filoni and Favreau might have convinced themselves to get away from in favor of stripping everything down.

The season is still a strong 3rd place in SW TV for me ahead of The Mandalroain Season One and Three, and TBOBF - but as soemone who’s a story obsessive, Andor and The Mandalorian Season 2 both pretty easily beat it.

Sabine moved the tea cup! Baylon is messing with the Mortis gods, a truly frightening thought. What is truly upsetting, other than the wait time to more Ahsoka, is Chopper did not kill anything in all 8 episodes. Ahsoka's done something I didn't think possible. I loved the way they portrayed Anakin in this series above all others, and his appearance as a force ghost at the end, the seeming concern he had in his eyes, made me tear up.
