Aliens vs. Predator - The Movie

I can't wait for this movie to come out! I always liked Predator, so I am rooting for him!

 

I hope that's the only chest ripping scene. I really hate that.

Well, I already looked up showtimes for it on Friday. So, it's not delayed at least not here in Canada.

Are there any reviews up for this yet? Could it possibly be one of those that they don't screen for critics?

I get invites to press screenings and AVP isn't being screened until Thursday night (most major releases are screened for the press a few days -- if not weeks -- in advance).

Usually when a studio doesn't set up press and/or promotional screenings until the night before opening, they expect the movie is going to get awwwwwful reviews...

It doesn't seem interesting to me,so i'm not going to see it.

 

I'm seein it tonight at midnite. I cant wait to see it. This is a movie Ive wanted to see since I saw Predator in 88 or 89. I bet there will be a few chestbursting scenes.

I'm just glad we dont have to worry about the newborn from Alien Ressurection. That was just bad. I was almost as big an Aliens fan growing up as I was Star Wars. Not as much but close I think it will be ok. But I dont think the critics will like it. But then they rarely like the movies I like.

 

i saw some clip on the news today they interviewed bishop and he said it was the best movie he ever seen. he said it was scary and you should bring a date.

also the showed a clip. and i dont know who that black chick is, but omigod she is such a horrible actress. she cant act!

 

Two franchises that have nothing but R-rated movies hash it out in a watered-down, PG-13 rated crapfest? Ugh. I'll still see it out of morbid curiosity, though.

I read the script already, and it reminded me of that one Enterprise episode where the Borg are found in the arctic.

 

I have my tickets for going to AVP tomorrow. I can't wait! 4:50 PM after work is gonna be a good time.

But don't kid yourselves, this movie is going to be horrid..


If the PG-13 rating doesn't seal it, then.. I mean.. Paul Anderson is directing..Look at his track record...

That's the ONLY thing that is getting me into a theater seat for this one. I highly doubt that this film'll do those two franchises any justice, however. Oh well. Morbid curiosity.

 

Okay, now Im a bit hacked...

I just saw the "making of" special on the E! Channel.


They brought back the guys that did the Alien3 and Alien Resurrection movies.

What the crap were they thinking?

These two bums made a completely new Queen alien (apparently, the 'crown' comes off during one scene of the movie, or at least the crownless alien they had was being taunted as a queen). It's not the spindly Stan Winston creation that made Aliens so great.


They even ripped into Stan Winston some more...they changed the Predator.
As one guy started saying "we made him not as buglike as he was in the other two movies because he's a leading man now."

They even changed the design of the Predator mask. Instead of being the blank mask that appears on the AVP posters and the other two films, this mask is more like a techno-animal.
It reminded me of the Reptile mask from MK. (incidentally, another film these two worked on)


Plus, for the FX part of the show, they spent plugging the AVP book. "Highly recommended, it shows the process we used for designing the creatures"

"designing the creatures"? What designing needed to be done?

Between the Giger and Winston creatures, nothing else was needed.


Boo. They should have used Stan Winston! DAMMIT!

 

Tonight at 8:00 on Fox there is an Alien vs Predator Special followed by celebrity boxing.

I forgot about it until just know.

EDIT : Stan Winston didn't make these versions of them?

 

Nope. This is another group altogether.

They did Alien3 and Resurrection.

They were the guys who made Goro for Mortal Kombat.

 

*sigh* I don't know if I want to see this movie. They're my two favourite movie creatures, but somehow I have a bad feeling about this.
