Yes, you must be. Luke is central in this whole saga after Anakin. Like everyone, I thought Luke was very whiny in ANH and beginning of ESB but after seeing his father in AOTC, it must be genetic with those Skywalker men! Luke is the creation of the best of Anakin and Padme. He is truly good and after ROTJ, will go on to rebuild the Jedi order and become like Yoda, a beacon for the Light Side. Luke never gave into to his temptation for the Dark Side in ROTJ, he throws away his lightsaber even if it means he and his father will die and he didn't even have that much Jedi training. He develops beautifully and Mark was great in that role. Notice that Yoda and Obi-Wan never tell Luke about Anakin being the Chosen One and how Luke was their only hope to defeat the Sith. Even if Lucas came up with the Chosen One stuff later, it is good that Luke didn't have that big head that Anakin had from day one of his Jedi training.

Luke Skywalker owns your soul, Onasi. I admit, he was kind of annoying at the beginning of A New Hope, but after he toughens up a little in Empire, he starts to be a badass. Come Return of the Jedi, Luke was the badass of that film, not Vader. Luke is one of my favorite characters, too (first is Yoda).

Luke is the main character of the old trilogy, how can anyone be fan of a movie despite not liking its main character (who has most of the screen time) ??

Go to hell, all of you Luke bashers! Bwahahahahahaaaa!

Haha, so it looks like all the Luke fans have taken over this thread. I would like to see what other Luke bashers have to say but my opinion will always stand. Luke's the man.

    IMO,
    Yeah, he pretty annoying.
He was a whinner at Hope, "But I was going to Toshe station to fix some power converters! :_| :_| "
And an impatience curious brat in Empire, "But how do I know the good from the bad? [face_thinking] "

    Also his father, Anikin

    Like father, like son....

how could anyone hate luke?, the whole ot is about him!!

sure, he was annoying, whiny, and a little spoiled brat in
ANH, but isn't EVERY teenager like that at his age?
when we were first introduced to him, he was just another
farm boy on tatooine who liked to bullseye womp rats
in his t-16. he learned his father was a jedi, and he wanted
    to follow in his footsteps.

in TESB, he has matured a little bit, but he was still too
impatient and arrogant, which is a flaw of his upbringing.
despite all this, he was still able to survive an encounter
    with a sith lord.

by the time we see him in ROTJ, he has shed his diefient teenager
attitude, and is 99% bad-ass jedi. after he confronts vader and
resists the dark side, he becomes everything anakin SHOULD have been:
    a noble jedi knight.

luke also has the best line in the star wars saga:
"Never,...I'll never turn to the dark side...
You've failed your heiness,.. I am a Jedi, like
    my father before me."

Um, arrogant much? Listen, I don't think you have any call to get upset at new people who join the forum. Like many, I am a very long time, loyal Star Wars fan. But frankly, it was not until Revenge of the Sith, that has emotionally hit me like no other film before, that I was really motivated to join a forum since I began to want to really discuss the films more often that the people in my real life would like. LOL.

Anyway, your opinion is of no more importance than anyone else's. Otherwise, presumably anyone that joined before you did, should just tell you to shut up too. That would not be much of a discussion forum would it?

We're all here for the same reason aren't we? Peace.
