Being from Halifax, I'm legally required to hope Ellen Paige wins.

He wasn't 'put there'... the entire thing is really about him. If you look at it that way, you'll probably enjoy it more.

It wasn't my favourite movie ever, and maybe a tad overrated, but it was good.

I'll definitely take that into consideration next time I watch the film. Maybe it will enhance the experience quite a bit from my first viewing.

Yeah, see, when I watched it I was focusing (because of the title) on the idea that this is really at it's heart a story about the Old Men in this vicious world (which is why it ends like it does). My brother said he wished he'd paid more attention to Tommy Lee Jones's character on his first viewing because he felt it would have changed his view on it.

I liked Juno, it was cute. But it has no place being nominated.

I'm a huge film buff, and see most movies in theater. Somehow however, I missed No Country For Old Men. And I've even read the book. [face_blush]

On the topic of Juno though, I absolutely adored it. And while I would like for it to win best picture I don't expect it too, I do hope it wins best actress though as Ellen Page was incredible, and maybe even best screenplay. (Though the Diablo Cody persona strikes me as a PR stunt, meh.)

Both NCFOM and TWBB are hugely overrated, which isn't to say that they don't have any redeeming qualities, and they're definitely better than the average mainstream Hollywood movie, which seems made with 12-year-old boys in mind.

I think the Coen brothers have definitely made better movies, I don't rate this one as even on the top 5 of all the movies they've made. I usually love everything they do, but this one was kind of "meh". Not terribly interesting compared with the rest of the Coen filmography, IMHO.

I thought the photography of this film was superb... And it stuck closely to the book as well, so a big thumbs up from me!
