So, you're saying that if someone acted toward you the same way Anakin acted toward Padme you wouldn't mind? Frankly, if I were in her place, I'd be pretty damn frightened.

Well, assuming we were in the same situation, then yes, I could see myself falling for him. There is something very attractive about a boy who pays attention to you, respects you, and is very, very honest. (Perhaps too honest.)

    I agree Sophita.

Just what's so scary about a boy who pours his heart and soul out to you?

Well, I suppose times are changing... It's really a different world nowadays, but that's a different story...

I simply think Padme made a couple of unwise choices that night, that's all. Not that she couldn't have made choices much worse... But she should still be a bit more defensive, if you understand what I'm saying...

Yes, I was going to say "how couldn't he?" but I think it was the lack of clothing that was more intriguing.

Has anyone else noticed the humanism of the Naboo culture? It's pretty cool, it's like they have all the technology, but never had a victorian era.

Can't see why he couldnt. They enhanced her beauty imho, so he liked them.

And can we please stop this stalker rubbish.

    anyway....

Its very interesting actually. The Naboo are very much Ancient Rome in its timeless peiod, except for its advances in technology of course. But Naboo seems to be theideal of humanity as well what with its people and such.

    slavegirl:
All those costume changes made Padmé rather obsessed with her own appearance. And I'm sure poor Anakin got a bit annoyed about having to wait for her to change her clothes every 5 minutes.

Well, I'm sure that after Anakin found out how, ah, brief Padme's clothes were, he didn't mind waiting anymore. :D

MetalGoldKnight: Basically, Padme had feelings for Anakin throughout the whole movie. As others here put it, she was trying to tell herself and Anakin that they couldn't get involved with each other, but at the same time she was subconsciously telling him something else through her choice of clothing. A bit of unintentional hypocrisy, here.

That said, Padme looks very sexy in her outfits. :)

Simple. Quite simple, indeed. Padmé used the dresses to put the pressure on Anakin, rather than herself. She knew she was attracted to him, but could not take the consequences of undertaking such a dangerous relationship. Her clothes were meant to push the responsibility off her and onto him. He would make the first move.

And he did. She took it from there.

I am sure that was one of the more..enjoyable parts of that particular assignment, lol.
I agree with the "I say one thing but mean another" expliantion of those outfits. Obviously there were other wardrobe options if she had wanted to play it "safe" (Coruscant outfits anyone?)but subconciously(or maybe not)she was giving of signals that it took her brain a little while to catch on to :)

Yes, he did. So much so that there were scenes of Anakin cross-dressing.

Those scenes were cut, but they were filmed, I was surprised not to find them on the DVD somewhere...

Anakin only married Padme so he could wear her clothes. That's the effect having a nickname like Ani has on you as a child.

    ;)

No, I don't have access to Padme's clothes and I didn't have the nickname Ani as a kid.

Then again, there are 3 things to consider, it depends on the woman (Is she attractive enough and are there real feelings there?), the clothes (Are they flattering and comfortable? I don't want something that makes my hips look big.) and if it's her fantasy (Mine involves a dias, slobber, my glorious Huttness, chains and a slave girl outfit for her). Depending on those factors, I'm willing to make her dreams come true. ;)

Nevertheless, I expect this revelation to impact Ep.3 in a big way... the real reason Anakin goes to the dark side is that Padme catches him in her black number and locks her wardrobe up!
Anakin becomes so angry, he hyperventilates till his lungs are damaged (the breath mask), and gets his own black kinky number, complete with cape and flowing vest/skirt.

(I'm joking, jeez, can't people have fun with a subject title? I'm surprised I was the first one....)

(Actually, I'm waiting for a smartypants to Photoshop Hayden into one of Nat's dresses and pass it off as one of the "Shocking lost scenes of AOTC!")

EDIT: By the way, the whole Jabba fantasy wasn't a joke, if any female fans over 18 are interested, e-mail me so I can put on the necessary weight. ;)

    "I'm 'jus kidding."

Oops, silly me... I should have checked your profile, AnakinSlave.

I was interpreting your comment as a sarcastic remark, now I think it may have been a serious inquiry. ;)

Hmmm... Egyptian goddess of vengeance, huh?
    Interesting.....

    Yep, triple post.
At least we all can agree that the sequels were the same as the original, not any better or worse.

Anakin liked Padme's dresses so much that he married so he could see her without them on.
Too bad we didn't get to see the honeymoon, G.L. missed the opportunity to reference the pilot's briefing on the Death Star attack from ANH.

"It's ray shielded so you'll have to use proton torpedoes."
Or something to that effect.... ;)

LOL... "Even a computer can't hit that!"

But yeah, I think Padme wore those clothes to *push* Anakin into initiating a relationship..good idea. :)

Lesson learned from AOTC, ladies... when you can't say yes, dress like a (insert description here), that will get that young, virginal Jedi to marry you.
That doesn't mean you'll have a lasting relationship though...

I doubt Padme will be going backless as much in Ep.3, I don't think those back scars she received from the Nexu will scream sexy! [face_laugh]

Here's another great and humorous use of ANH dialogue for Anakin and Padme's honeymoon (to me anyway)...

    Anakin: It's a hit?
Padme: Negative, it just impacted on the surface.

Okay, I'm done. I have two shows at 4 & 8, enjoy the free buffet! Good night! :D

I like Natalies swimsuit and the lack thereof from those pictures that came out around a year or two ago.
