*peeps back in after several days absence* You guys are nuts. :D

Anakin-Player: LOL! Anakin's at his best when he's being quiet and lookin' good! ;)
Nah, I wasn't suggesting Anakin's not the sharpest tool in the shed...he can be quite intellegent when he's actually thinking clearly, like in his analysis of why and how to find the assassin. I just meant he was so nervous and awkward when he tries to impress Padme, that he comes off as an immature kid. Padme may be smarter than him, true, but she also knows when to keep her mouth shut and not put her foot in it, and Anakin, well....:)

Poor Anakin. :) I don't see why it's so bad of Padme to say he's a Padawan...he IS a Padawan, after all. It's not an insult, is it? Or do you guys think Padme was shooting him down there? I looked at it as her simply meaning, well, she knew better because of the situation at hand, is all, and he took it as a crack against him personally, as being to young to know better in any situation.

And sure, Padme only gave Anakin a few small kisses, but it's a family movie, after all. Make no mistake, Anakin's not a Jedi yet, but the Force is with him. ;)

Had to laugh at that pick up line from hell! "Did you just escape from Hell?"
"Yeah. In fact, haven't we met before?" :p

    Polaris

I interpreted the statement as an insult because Padme had to mention his padawan status after Sio Bible addressed Anakin as "Master Jedi." There was no need for Padme to state that he's "only a Padawan." Non-Jedi usually address Jedi of any rank as master, so Padme's comment was quite unnecessary in front of the queen. It was also the tone of Padme's voice that indicated to me that it sounded like a insult. BTW, Anakin's not as smart as Padme but he's really not that ignorant. However, he should stop his whining about Obi in front of Padme like many of you have stated. Not a good way to impress a woman if you just keep complaining about your master.

hey guys I ran across an interesting tidbit on this very subject on another website.I won't say what the website is(you can PM me if interested in what it may be)but I will bring this quote from it,which I totally agree with. This is a letter to a man who helps men with the ladies.Enjoy.

    "Hey D,

I couldn't believe what i just saw on the new Star Wars 2
movie. Anakin Skywalker returned to see Queen Amidala
after 10 years of being apart. He acted very nervous and
said that she looks beautiful, of course she rejected him
harshly. Later, he stared into her eyes and smiled and
she said "Don't do that again, it makes me uncomfortable,"
which is the 2nd rejection. Finally they are in a room
together and he tells her that he has had feelings for her
his whole life, that he dreams of her, and he is being
tortured inside because he likes her so much.....at this
point i was laughing to myself thinking "wussy boy is
going to be rejected the third time." however, i was
surprised when she kissed him and said she has feelings
too. So my point is that I'm glad you're helping us guys
out because most people would think "wow, maybe i should
do everything that Anakin did," but we know that telling
your feelings to a girl is a definite no no. that movie
was very misleading since Amidala fell in love with Anakin
when he did such a stupid thing as confess his feelings."

Also,Luke_Clone,the subject is "Anakin my friend, you need some tips on seduction."

lol.Actually I want to know whether you think Anakin has the moves.....or is he a chump who has the force helping him?

    Luke_Clone,

Well you mentioned it twice! I'm suspecting somewhere beneath that clone facade resides Harrison Ford I met in this very thread. Am I correct?

    Undomiel,

    Nope... no Harrison Ford.

    SW3,

I've already answered/talked about the question stated in your thread. I think that Anakin is in need of a major "pick-up line" adviser as his lines stink. Is that good enough for you?

So, Anakin-player, you think after that scene where Anakin whines about how Obi Wan doesn't understand, she just figures, ok, I don't want THIS guy running my security, he's full of excuses, sounds like a whiny kid, so she takes control by informing the court that he's just an apprentice? Moral: don't whine, it doesn't impress? :) Of course, then he loses his temper in front of the queen...man, this boy's on a roll. ;)

Sigh. Anakin does NOT have the moves. A Sarlacc has better moves then Anakin Skywalker. Anakin's a very handsome young man, but that's not the same as having charisma, and looks only take you so far. Sometimes I think Anakin needs a therapist more than he needs a date.

I just started to read this thread and I think it is halarious.
But as a girl, I would not have gone for anakin. If the whinning about his master didn't bug me, the slaughtering of sandpeople would. I mean, he is one seriously disturbed guy.
If a guy is a little awkward around me, I'm cool with it. Because there are some guys that I'm awkward around. But when he flips out and starts to kill people, it doesn't matter how attractive he is.

    there is my two cents

    Jez,

"But when he flips out and starts to kill people"

But they aren't people... they were animals and he slaughtered them like animals! He hates them! ;) sorry j/k

Anyway... what about his goofy pick-up lines? Do you think you could give Anakin some advice along these lines? Please? Could you give us some advice... I mean errrr just give Anakin some advice. :D

Personally, and I will say this one last time just because I'm such a nice Kofi Annan-like person, I think that Padme doesn't believe that Anakin killed the Tusken Raiders.

Even if she did, she doesn't know what a Tusken Raider is and with Cliegg sitting there telling her that Tuskens are all "mindless monsters" and having seen what a Tusken did to the Lar's up close and personal I'm sure that Padme doesn't really hold the murder of the Tuskens against Anakin. It is a bad thing yes, but she has no idea how bad it was. All she knows is that everyone on Tatooine hates Tuskens (at least those that she has spoken too) and that they murdered Anakin's mother.

People are always forgetting that Padme committed herself to Anakin emotionally in Episode One. In this one she tries to contain it but she wants something more, and that is all.

She sees the Sandpeople slaughter as understandable if not justified. But as far as anakin's lines go, I have done better as far worse--I mean women have kissed me or more when I said much dumber things. The fact that he is awkward and actually says stupid things is more endearing.

I think the confession scene would be better if a few more lines were kept, but the audience can put things together.

Look, she kissed him, if only for a while, very early in the film. I have met women like her before; she obviously loves him or thinks she does early on...I have no problems with the movie as it is.

When you look like Russell Crowe, most anything works with the chicks.

"Slaughtering people is not a good way to impress girls."

Actually it depends on what kind of people you're slaughtering. Anakin did impress Padme by killing the centipdede like creatures. I guess we are using the term "people" loosely to describe the tusken raiders. It's almost impossible not to get the girl if you look like Hayden or Russell Crowe.

Yes, I've tried changing my approach, mannerisms etc. lots of times, but with no luck. All that I've gotten is the notorious "I like you as a friend" line, lots of times.

Try being yourself instead of someone else. And I say this for practical as well as philosophical reasons - an act is too hard to sustain in the long run.

And remember if a girl says she only likes you as a friend it's not the end of the world. It's better to wait for a good one to come along than to rush headlong and force something with one who isn't right. Take this pearl of hard won wisdom from someone who's divorced.

May the Dark Side be with you.

    Regards,

    Darth Nemesis, Sith bloke

Sheesh. And you say that I am not on topic. ;) This thread has become a discussion about how a person, not Anakin, can best go about getting himself/herself a significant other.

    This is madness! ;)

ah but Luke_Clones that is on topic.I am comparing my experience to Anakins.Basically what I am trying to do is this::Let my fellow males posters on theforce.net know that Anakins ways are wrong, and if they are interested then let them know what to do right.

Here is what I hope to see in the near future:A new thread pops up entitled "SW3TheHolidaySpecial is a genius!" This thread will detail how a poster here on the force.net got a chick using the "Han method" this thread will quickly be locked and the poster told to take the discussion to this thread.I seriously see something like this happenning.lol.

Poor Anakin, he takes so much guff for his corny pick up lines. But it makes sense, i mean the only other non-jedi women he's ever known were his mom and that old fruit seller on Tatooine. Probably read his galaxy's equivalent of Romeo and Juliet one too many times. How could Padme fall for this stuff? I guess for all her beauty, she was just lonely enough to consider hooking up with everyone's favourite cornball Jedi. I mean she was Queen at a young age, and then a Senator, surrounded by guards and old men. Must have put a hurtin' on her social life eh?

Earlier in the posts, some people kiddenly mention Yoda's class for seduction. Reminds me of something that was in Mad Magazine (If someone mentioned this before, sorry).

In 1997, there was an issue of Mad, one section was "Star Wars Marcarena". Another section was "Playsets not selling well". One was "the Dizzy Droid Drag bar set", another was Chewie's barbershop (with plenty of ewoks with mohawks) and "Yoda's swingin Bachelor pad". "Yeah, we seen that he lives in a swamp, but only to teach Luke to kick stormtroppers butt!" His bachelor pad comes with a xargarita mixer, a mirror bed, and an actually working codom machine. It shows Yoda in a smoking jacket sittingin the lap of Leia in the gold bikini and a boa.
