anakin wasn't a jedi knight, as said obi wan in ANH.
He was just a padawan, isnt it???????

Anakin was a Jedi. "I was once a JEdi Knight, the same as your father."

 

I think by saying that, he was stating that they were both a member of the jedi order...not actually knights. I think Knights are a pretty generic term.

Just like Obi was called "master" in AotC, it's an honorific, not his actual rank.

 

According to the star wars encyclopedia "Jedi Master" is always an honorific for the greatest of jedi knights who are ready to take on a Jedi Padawan:

"Jedi Master: An honorific given to the greatest of jedi, those who are strong enough in the force and patient enough in life--and even beyond--to pass on their skills by teaching a new generation of Jedi."

 

The opening crawl of TPM talks about two Jedi Knights. I think it is just a generic term really.

 

Maybe he passes the trials before EPIII, ever think of the obvios?

 

He might even do it IN Episode III.
