Ahsoka Anakin Skywalker (spoilers)

Thats the issue with force ghosts. they can't interfere. If they could then they would be constantly popping up all over the place when someone is in trouble or someone needs advice. But i guess they can't do that.

highly recommend it, it’s the first Star Wars novel I read and has started me off on making my way through all the current canon ones, only chose to give that one a go after hearing of Anakin’s involvement and him/his legacy post ROTJ is something I find really interesting, my memory of it was there was more to it than that Wookipedia extract implies but I’d have to reread to be certain but yeah cracking read and benefits the sequel trilogy a lot i think

 

Yoda and Kenobi both interfere.

 

Well if Obi Wan wanted to interfere he could have shown up several times to guide luke instead of letting him deal with stuff on his own. Its pretty clear that they rarely show up. There are actually many times he could have shown up. after being told his father was Vader would have been a good time to show up right away to explain himself. But he waited a long period of time before showing up and explain why he lied.

And the gist with TLJ was that Yoda didn't show up to luke until that point. Even before he cut himself off from the force.

And we know Anakin is one. Do we think he showed up to Ahsoka? Doesn't seem like it.

 

Indeed. One could argue that the OT and ST would've gone very differently if Kenobi and Yoda hadn't interfered. Luke never would've been trained by Yoda much less even hear of the dude if it weren't for Obi-Wan telling him to seek out Yoda.

 

Well Obi Wan does say he can not interfere in ROTJ. Now to what that means, there are probably rules. Maybe guidance is fine, but destiny has to play out. Force ghosts can't show up with their force wisdom of everything they can see of the galaxy and give it to people to impact one's destiny.

 

Guidance is a form of interference. Let's call it soft interference.

 

I mean there is that joke that people make where they say Obi Wan does not at any time tell Luke that he and Leia are related. And its one of those things where you would expect a force ghost to show up and spill all the beans just because they can.

 

Sorry not trying to be pedantic but it was TESB when OWK says "if you chose to face Vader you do it alone, I can't interfere". It does create inconsistencies in when Luke has Vader on his tail in the DS trench OWK 'interferes'. Other than that and telling Luke to "run" no Force-ghost interferes in a moment of danger. It's something I've thought about around the time of TESB, does the presence of a Dark Sider like Vader affect whether a Light Side Force-ghost can appear or speak to another Force user?

Maybe...but eww . Or maybe Kenobi thought they were only related...from a certain point of view.

 

Maybe this is a stretch but we do see Anakin's footsteps in the WBW and I think that could be an allusion to TLJ when Luke projected himself to Crait and his projection didn't leave any footprints, and the WBW is sort of within the force, so the implication here being that this is in fact Anakin here before Ahsoka and not some apparition. If he were just a ghost or a force apparition they might not have added that detail in.

Anakin looked miles better in this episode than he did at the end of Ahsoka episode 4. And yes, better than Luke in Mando and BoBF. To the point that I suspect they will eventually go back and fix his look at the end of episode 4.

 

I'm in love. He looked incredible in this episode. Hayden was PHENOMENAL. I hope we get to see him one more time at least in the series. This was just too good.

 

Hayden looked so cool with the shorter TCW hairstyle. His performance was just full of soul and complexity, just like in the prequels.

 

Anakin looked tremendously better in episode 5

 

Well I think it was handled well, being some kind of a "dream sequence."

Anakin looked so freaking good in every single scene of Part 5, that I actually don't know how much of it was make up, how much of it was deepfake, how much of it was de-aging CGI. At this point anything is possible, even Dave Filoni going into the World Between Worlds to pull Hayden Christensen from various points in life, then dropping him back in Canada and his farm. Those cows must have been very confused when they saw him disappear in a plaid shirt and a hat with some wool on the side, only to re-appear moments later in his Clone Wars armor.
