Anakin waves a hand signal?

Sorry if this has been posted before...I searched and didn't come up with anything. I was watching AOTC tonight...in the scene where they chase Zam into the nightclub as Anakin is walking around, a creature in the background appears to wave a hand towards Anakin. It appears that Anakin sees the gesture out of the corner of his eyes, and returns a 'jedi wave'. This causes the next group of people to perk up, and take notice of him.

Any ideas or theories as to what this may be?

Um, an extra on set batting at a fly?

 

That's Lucas' daughter in her cameo appearance. She just catches the eye of Anakin for a brief moment and I guess he waves back.

Who knows? Maybe his wave was some implicit message that he would run away with her and live with her for the rest of his days, but he couldn't because of his undying love for Padme. Maybe he was telling the girl to look elsewhere, to find another man because to be with him would be forbidden in more ways than one.





Or, maybe, he decided to wave at a random patron.


I don't know, you can infer anything from a gesture-- but usually the simplist explanation is the right one.

 

I figured it was either an in-joke (Hayden waving hello to Ahmed Best and Lucas' daughter) or Anakin was using the Force to calm to crowd.

 

I thought he was just waving to some random girl, I doubt it was GL's daughter he was waving at

 

if you watch the extras on the dvd you see the guy who plays as jar jar binks (the black guy) i cant think of his name right now and he says anakin uses the force to break up his lovely chatting with the ladies

 

Oh yeah I remember that wave, hmmm not sure exactly but maybe he was just saying hi to some folks who knows

 

I read somewhere that the wave that is taking place is to calm the crowd in the bar.

Anakin and Obi-Wan are there not only to capture Zam but to do it without any issues or altercations. Jedi do not wish to bring too much attention to themselves.

Remember in TPM, it was Anakin who noticed the Qui-Gon had a lightsaber. Qui-Gon didn't say "Hey kid, I'm a Jedi Knight."


Yes, Ahmad Best (Jar Jar) is in the scene, as is Anthony Danieles (C-3PO) and GL's daughter is the Twi'lik. I believe that they are all at the same table.
