Anakin's physique

He looked how he was s'posed to look - an overgrown kid from Tatooine, very tan, tall, and skinny. Seeing how he's already been asked to bulk up for the next movie (and also since George said he's going to lose all of his 'boyish'-type qualities by then), I'm thinking we'll be seeing a nice contrast between II Anakin and III Anakin. Not to mention Hayden's quite versatile acting abilities, IMO - he can pile on the Vader presence whenever he chooses, already convinced me of that in AOTC. But in that film, it was more imminent that he reflect the kid Ani than too much of Vader too soon.

 

Well he looked alright in AOTC, but I remember seeing him on TV in an interview and he looked AWFUL. REALLY SKINNY AND LIKE A DRUG ADDICT

I think that was for Life as a House since he had to lose 30 pounds since he was a drug addict in that film.

He should probably gain around 20lbs for EP3. That should make him look like Kobe Bryant now since Kobe gained 18 pounds over the summer. Have any of you seen how Kobe looks now because he doesn't look so thin anymore. Hayden should make the same transformation, but he had an average build in AOTC.

 

Hmm okay hes not ugly, I'm just jealous.

Now I'm not gay or anything, but I have to admit that he is well....anyway...moving along now!!

Don't worry about it because I'm jealous of him too! The females just adore him. Why can't I have that good fortune?

 

I'm gonna hazard a guess here. I previously read...and assumed that Hayden would add just a little size to make the transition to Vader more believeable and to differentiate Anakin from the thin, though fit Anakin of AOTC.

If he had been much bigger in AOTC, it wouldn't have been as smooth a transition.
We'd last seen him as a nine year old.
To see him as a normal 19 year old who's not completely filled out in AOTC was appropriate.

I've done a little thinking and now I believe that Hayden, with Rick and George's blessing, will add more than just a few pounds. I think he's gonna add plenty of weight, not fifty pounds of course, but definitely more than 5 or 10 pounds. Hayden and Ewan are good buds, but Hayden's a competitive kid and I think he'd love to make Obi-Wan look as small as possible in Episode III.

I think it will add to the story. Not only will Anakin's force powers become greater and superior in Episode III, it will add to the effect of him becoming "the most powerful Jedi ever" if he bulks up, big and strong.

Obi-Wan's gonna have his hands full in Episode III in that final battle.

But as far as AOTC went, Hayden's build was just right.

The camera couldn't find a bad angle on that guy. Everywhere the camera went there was another view of yummy Hayden. He looked just right-- a tall, lean, strong nineteen year old Jedi...oh yeah.

"He's got some serious work to do. He's going to beef up a lot. He changes physically a lot..."

So we should expect to see a Hayden with more muscle (not fat...don't worry)in Episode 3.

I agree with you lightbird. The camera seems to love Hayden,he looks gorgeous in every angle.He is the perfect anakin,the way anakin was supposed to be,the way George saw anakin. He is tall,lean,and he is built,hence the "Nightmare"scene...I love that shot of him..he looks really yummy..I wanted to jump into bed with him and comfort him..since he was having a nightmare..Not to mention his voice...now his voice is "Soothing"..his hair,lips,his walk...He makes that Jedi outfit look very sensual,very sexy...He is perfect..Damm,he is gorgeous!!!

Hayden's yummy,yummy,yummy,yummy,yummy,yummy,yummy etc.I could go on for hours. He's not to thin, he's got SUCH a hot body. I mean HOTTT!!!!!!!!!!! I LURVE the nightmare scene no matter what anyone says about it. HeHe, if only I was in that bed with him!!!

 

This thread has reminded me of a line of Hannibal Lecter's, which I'll paraphrase here: "Good nutrition has given him some length of bone." Maybe that explains why Vader will be taller than Anakin.

 

He looked ok but I think his acting sucked, but that's just me, obviously no one else here thinks so.

 

I don't think it was his acting so much as the crappy dialogue and the blue screens, but that's just me.

I probably shouldn't even be in here...Ewan fan and all...but, uh, Hayden wasn't bad. I think he was supposed to look the way he did...adolescent and boy-like, not grown or "finished". This episode is the transition period for Anakin, so that gets reflected in his appearance. Padme tells him not to grow up too quickly: the idea of Anakin still in a period of growing and becoming the man he will be is very much there. You'll be getting a different look altogether for the next ep. Wonder if he will have long hair...?

Ok, the Ewan fan is leaving before she gets into trouble.

 

In some of the scenes I felt like I could tell it was a retake because he did get thinner for LAAH. But for the most part I thought he was fine and acted very well.

 

He was a bit on the skinny side, but I'm sure he'll get a little bigger for Episode 3. At least, I hiope so, or I'll be disappointed in Ewan for not kicking his ass.
