Interesting theory, but I doubt it. Vader/Anakin just wanted to be in good graces with his kids.

 

Oh, I don't believe the... well I won't even honor it with the term 'theory,' and frankly, as cool as the evil hideous Black Knight of the drafts was, the version of Vader portrayed in the OT is what made Vader so totally awesome, including his redemption, to be a little OOC.
