I can't argue with this...I was kind of surprised how easy it was for Cassian to get in and out of the hotel without any guards? Yeah, I know they were outside, but still, a couple nobodies? Cinta at least killed her nemesis, the ISB guy. What was Vel there for, besides hooking up with Cinta?
I was puzzled why Syril was there, and once it was over, I was with Mosk, getting sloshed in the street.
Luthen was there because the writers needed him there. Maybe his philosophy will be changed after hearing Maarva's message? Still, seems like an unnecessary risk, after having one's craft exposed to Imperial authorities in the previous episode.
I'll get to touch Jabba, at least once I have his sixth scale set delivered by Sideshow Collectibles sometime in early April! Winning!

Well I loved what we did get and overall this was a solid finale to an amazing season of tv and my comment is gonna make me seem like I liked it less than I did - but I think this should've been like a good 15-20 minutes longer. It felt like every character deserved some more resolution.

For example, off the top of my head, I think it is disappointing we never even see Mothma tell her daughter/husband about the potential marriage. Dedra & Syril, Vel & Cinta I wish they all had had more to do. I liked Cassian rescuing Bix (wait - had he known she was captured?), but even then I felt like the finale for his arc was missing something.

EDIT I'm seeing some people agreed! It REALLY felt like Luthen - Vel - Cinta - Cassian stuff should've come to some kind of dramatic head between some combo of those folks. Same with the Dedra-Syril stuff. I really liked Syril stepping in and saving her, but it doesn't feel like a proper wrap up to these characters' stories for the season.

Also feels like the stake should have been upped with some kind of culmination around Luthen's ship and the empire getting closer on his tail.

In general, it feels like the finale didn't really take on or raise the stakes of the stories the season had so meticulously built up. There was still a lot of good stuff, but again it feels like the finale actually needed much more interpersonal drama. The riot and Cassian's rescuing of Bix seemed to take up most of the episode's attention, and while this stuff was good, Ferrix was always the less interesting area of the show for me.

The dude with the scrap yard was waiting at Bix's place when Cassian showed up. He told him about Bix.

Okay, after seeing the conclusion of this season of Andor, and even tho Mando is coming on it's third season, with already having 2 seasons, I can say, IMHO, Andor is by far the best SW Series EVER!!!!

This conclusion was just fantastic. Thank you ILM/Lucas Film for finally giving a more grown up story without going "R or X" on us.

I skimmed the posts before this and I get the impression - not sure it is fair - that while most folks liked it, many were underwhelmed. I have to respectfully disagree - I loved it.

I think you could make the case that what we saw here is just one a huge series of similar uprisings or events (the galaxy is a huge place after all) but to me, it felt like we got to see "the spark" that lit the fuse that would ultimately lead to the overthrow of the Emperor, the turning of Vader, and the end of the Empire (nope, not going to mention the First Order here!). I'd like to think this will be talked about, across the SW galaxy, and certain across "the rebellion" and the eventual follow on New Republic. I loved the rising tension as the pieces were all moved into place, all brought into proximity, and then all hell breaking loose. It didn't bother me, as it appears to be bothering some, that we didn't get a series of major confrontations or resolutions between the characters; I personally didn't feel cheated. To me, the "big event" was them all being there, witnessing or in some small way participating in the lighting of that aforementioned fuse. From this point until the end of ROTJ, that fuse is going to keep burning along, taking twists and turns, almost being snuffed out any number of times, until...BOOM.

Very very happily impressed with the finale and the season. Wow.

PS - Luthen's become one of my favorite SW characters. Can't wait for more.
PPS - Syril and Dedra -- best creepy couple ever. LOL
    PPPS -
So glad B2EM0 survived. His relentless loyalty, his loneliness and plaintive voice, he's like a robo-dog. He better make it next season too.

Oh Mon I hope its a fake out. I thought she knew her driver was a spy and so argued with her husband about money for gambling because she knew it would get back and remove suspicion about her accounts. I guess she was in deeper than I thought.

Cassian is to Luthen what Syril is to Dedra. With much less creepy chemistry

    That's exactly what that was.

She's throwing her husband under the bus, because she knows the driver will report the gambling problem back to the Empire, and now when they go looking at her finances, her husband's reckless addiction will cover the excuse for why there's a huge discrepancy, and the Empire won't (immediately) think Mon is shifting funds around to purchase a rebellion.

Had time to digest it after last nights viewing. And I've watched it again, to take it all in as my first viewing was dripping with tension.

An incredible end to a stunning season of Sci Fi television. There is a reason why my favorite Star Wars movies are TESB and RO, dark, gritty, the darker side of the rebellion struggling against the might of an evil empire against all the odds. I wanted a show that showed the fight, that 'highlighted' that struggle and the acts of terror that BOTH sides commit in conflict! And the consequences.....for both sides. When the line up of new Star Wars TV shows was announced way back....'Andor' was (along with Ahsoka as she's my favorite character) the show I was looking forward to most. What we got, was beyond my wildest dreams and expectations.

This season has been amazing, a triumph in all possible ways. EVERY single character was perfect, the pacing of the show, the direction, writing, the acting......oh my! The storyline!!!!! I absolutely LOVED every minute of it. My favorite characters? All of them.

Putting all this aside, and my obsession with the Star Wars franchise as a whole, not only was this the best Star Wars content for me......its one of the best TV shows I've watched.

Season 2 can not come around quick enough. But.....Lucasfilm and Disney have set themselves a massively high bar here, and we shouldn't try and compare them I guess....but I am really looking forward to the next seasons of The Bad Batch, Mando S3 of course, the Ahsoka show (for sure) and further down the road, the Acolyte!

Andor. Brilliant. THANK YOU Disney, Gilroy, Kennedy - everyone who had a part in bringing us that!.

Ok, Holiday season starts........complete re-watch of the entire season coming up this weekend for me.

There are good points there, but Fondor haulcrafts are probably quite common so visual description is not much, it's heavy modification that makes it so unique. Luthen personally arriving on Ferrix did seem careless of him though, but perhaps he still had hope Andor would join him and was right in the end. It was bit sloppy though, but sure Luthen can make mistakes as well. Also we don't know if that imperial captain ever even made a report, he was left in crippled cruiser so maybe pirates or Saw finished him after Luthen left.

ISB is focused in Kreegyr situation and Dedra in Andor so such a weird anomaly in Segra Milo, in sector with known pirate and partisan activity would probably be seen more as incompetence of local navy units and their story of single super powerful modified Fondor haulcraft might not even be taken seriously.

The Imperials were shown to be completely thrown off by the marching band of doom. The entire buildup was them smugly discussing how they had the entire funeral under control so they could focus on Cassian Andor, only to have that moment where they were screaming "Everyone out here! Hurry!" and had to empty the hotel lest they lose complete control of Ferrix, entirely.

My favorite bit of misheard dialogue.....

    BLEVIN: Christmas?
    JUNG: Not today.

Now, of course Blevin was asking about prisoners. I know that now, after playing it back with subtitles on. :p

Don't get me wrong, I think this episode was great but the more I think about it the more I'm little disappointed in it. Like I've said before, Vel, and Cinta don't do much of anything in the finale. Heck, Cinta spent the entire back half of the season looking out a window! Luthen didn't do much either though I do like his scene with Cassian. I did like the Karn/Dedra stuff we got but, again they didn't do too much. And the Anto Kreegyr story was pretty pointless in the end.

I wish we got a little more Mon Mothma stuff but I did enjoy what we got.

Also, and this is a nitpick but boy did Cassian free Bix very easily!!! Just kinda waltzed on in, opened the door and walked. Yes, he had to sneak in but it seemed pretty easy for him once he got into the hotel.

In the end though there was way more good than bad, not that anything was horrifically bad. Loved the speeches by Nemik, Maarva and Brasso passing along Maarva's words to Cassian. Loved the flashback to Cassian's dad too.

Then why is she still setting up her daughter with the financier's son? If she now has a cover for the black hole of expenses what does she need him for?
