I met some of them, I met one and I was disturbed by his take of the whole SW franchise
I think it is important that Andor shows us a level of detail that doesn't allow people to justify some takes because the lines of the narration are somehow blurred or not clear enough... Andor puts the cards on the table and also does not allow anyone to justify stuff with "they were only following orders"...

...it did not stand at Nuremberg, it doesn't stand in Andor...it won't stand IRL in the future...shades of grey are fine and are appreciated in the narration but stuff like Andor also draws a clear line on some things and values and you are either on one side or another... and I like that as much as I can like nuance and realistic characters that are not alway pure light beings with no flaws or pure evil monsters...

So, do you think Cinta opens the hatch and does a spin? That's a good trick. If he's desperately clutching onto a handle, I imagine she'd have to give the wheel a really good jiggle. Or maybe it's a special speeder where the floor opens downward.
Maybe it has a spring-loaded ejection seat.

Assuming Cinta hasn't already killed the regular driver, then wouldn't the play be to get Tay home safely and then stage a break-in, maybe plant something to make it look like a creditor was behind it?

It's insane to me that they took "Niamos," one of the coolest songs in Star Wars, and made it one of the most mournful.

Any mother to a rebellion capable of toppling an Empire as formidable as Palpatine’s was is going to have work life balance issues. ;) She can’t have it all. Every member of the Rebel Alliance takes risks and makes sacrifices. Including her.

I hope not. I want her to regroup and come out swinging for the next round. Give me more.

I disagree. Remember Oola, the dancing Twi'lek. Jabba reeled her in like a fish while leering at her and licking his lips as she screamed, begged, and struggled to get away. His intentions were crystal clear. Then with Leia, he licked her, and said "Soon you will learn to appreciate me." It doesn't get much more rapey than that.
Well, except for Kylo Ren tying up Rey and telling her he can take what he wants.

I think Mothma is really the most dramatically interesting character on the show after season 1, that really covered Cassians growth into a rebels but she still has a lot of personal conflict. The family situation itself and dealing with the degree of ruthlessness the struggle against the Empire is pushing her towards.

Turns out Lucas best casting choice in the prequels was actually Genevieve O'Reilly.

Kasdan's second draft also has Jabba declaring to Leia "I have seen you like to kiss. I like the way you kiss. And I like to kiss, also!"

This line of dialogue was actually suggested by Lucas himself in the story conferences. And moreover, it's a clear play on Irvin Kershner's statement (as recorded in the vintage Once Upon a Galaxy book about ESB by Alan Arnold) that "a kiss in Star Wars is the equivalent of a sex scene."

This sounds like real history. Lenin's comrade Inessa Armand abandoned her five children for the sake of her revolutionary struggle.

Which is why I put the deleted Senator meeting scene back in ROTS. She shines in that too!

Yes, those are my thoughts, too. I would've liked to see some of Tay Kolma's character arc in season 1 instead of between seasons. He was written as a loyal character in season 1 who was happy to help Mon Mothma however he could. His actions in season two are out of character, IMO.

Wow, that's not the way I saw it at all. He threw back drinks and talked hesitantly about wanting to catch up but that isn't far off from how he acted in Season 1. I think I saw what I wanted to see because I considered Tay Kolma a stand-up guy who would never betray Mon Mothma like that. I'm disappointed in him.

I agree Cassian's poor handling of the TIE was a little over the top. It banged around and skimmed the ground too many times for me to believe without an eye roll.

I gotta say, I did not have Mon Mothma doing shots and dancing like she’s in a rave on my Andor bingo card, but I’m glad that sequence exists =D=

I gave this episode a 7/10. Sorry, but the prolonged wedding scene with Mothma and friends just dragged the show along. The techno music during the party was nice though; eat your heart out, Sy Snootles. Cassian reaches the farm planet with nothing but the TIE that he booted from the Imperials. I know this has been beaten around the bush plenty of times, but IMO it's worth asking about again; can TIEs travel through hyperspace on their own or can't they? I'm thinking about what Kenobi says in ANH about the lone TIE not being able to get "this far into deep space". But I'm sure I've already answered my own question if it's supposed to be a new class of TIE that no one's seen before.

We get more scenes with Deedra and Syril. I'm still trying to recall everything that built up their stories in Season 1. The mother "in-law" comes to visit to their apartment on Coruscant. Some interesting dialogue; but again it's still slowing the pace of the show. Obviously the anticipation is that all of this will be adding up to something big by the final show.

The best part of this episode were obviously the events going on with Cassian's friends on the farm planet. The attempted rape by the Imperial officer was pretty dark. Certainly not something you're used to in this franchise. Considering Andor has a direct link with R1, it's still not too much of a surprise. And then there's the Imperials scanning for Visas to weed out the illegals on the planet. Certainly a not so subtle way of demonstrating the policies of the Trump Administration.

Well, the TIE fighter was an atypical prototype, wasn't it? That was the impression I had. His cover was "test pilot" after all. That's why no one could figure out how to fly it. I just figured this new fancy model could indeed travel through hyperspace. *shrug*

Yeah, as I said, that's what I thought. It was just a prototype that no one had seen before; obviously not Kenobi or Luke to that point.

I really see a lot of real world politician influences on her. A little Hillary Clinton, a little Nancy Pelosi- and yes, even a little Thatcher or Queen Elizabeth II. And what they have shown is that in her zeal to better the galaxy, her own family has suffered. She's in a loveless marriage and has dealt with her husband's antics before. That has created a tense environment for her daughter- who fell into the whole traditions of Chandrila likely as part of a way to get away from that home life but perhaps also in a way to understand her parents a bit better?

While Mon has provided Leida with all she could want, she failed to provide her with the attention and affection she needed. She clearly realizes this in Season 1 and tries, belatedly, to remedy it. But she's been so blinded by her zeal to stop Palpatine, she missed what was going on in her own house.

The other part of this is that she has had to learn how to act and hide her feelings so well that she likely did the same to her family. I do almost wonder if her close relationship with Leia later is her trying to make a second chance at being a mother- especially given Leia is close to Leida's age and her parents are gone.

Another reason why I think the attempted rape scene adds agency to Bix is becuse the officer was initially being passive aggressive in his advances. Suggesting to her he has a difficult job and asking what he’s to do and hoping she will be the one to offer sexual favors in an attempt to save herself. When she doesn’t he grows increasingly persistent and aggressive, moving on to being the one to overtly suggest how her options are limited and how she knows what she must do. Repeatedly, through multiple attempts by this man in different ways to engage in sexual behavior with her she refuses to be intimidated. She then defends herself and escapes.

If the scene had been less psychological and moved more rapidly from him just seeing her, finding her beautiful, and then physically grabbing her as she fought back it still would have been empowering but the way it was written here was significantly more empowering than that because she kept her psychological defences up when suggestions progressed to pleadings and eventually threats and then actions each step of the way.

You can tell a lot of thought went into it. Which is often the case on Andor.

Does the TIE have a hyperdrive or was the facility Andor stole it from Yavin

I would say it has hyperdrive. Maybe a system close to Yavin.

Vader's Custom TIE Advanced x1 has a hyperdrive, at least in the lore and one can infer from onscreen.
