I wonder if the Tarsunt senator is Lanever Villecham. That would also be a nice nod to TFA.

I think the engineer guy spying for the Empire was real, as Saw orders an abandonment of D’Qar. “We won’t be back this way again.” And check out that small moment when the engineer guy asks about the guy who sent Willmon. He was trying to get a name for Axis. I’m kinda, pretty sure of that. But it’s not totally confirmed.
Huh? The replacement kid is Willmon from Ferrix. His dad was killed by imperials, he threw the bomb at Marva’s funeral, and he accidentally got Brasso killed on Mina-Rau by sneaking in a final smooch with his girlfriend. He’s a friend of Cassian and Bix. He works for Luthen. Why would he be an imperial spy?

I could genuinely see it both ways, as he’s also the one who suggests Saw tell him the location of the heist beforehand to help him in his studies, which is why I was wondering if there’s a clue in the scene where Two Tubes “discovers” the evidence as to whether it was meant to be real or not. Because the thing about Saw is no matter how deliriously paranoid he is, they are out to get him.

I love how the end was basically “Set Forrest Whittaker to maximum power. He may fire when ready.”

Cassian's mission here was interesting, but kind of served to show his character in a new mode rather than meaningfully develop the narrative. It's clear he learned from Luthen how to put on a more slick and welcoming personality. I liked his interaction with the attendant at the hotel, but I'm also unsure of whether retconning Tarkin's acts on Ghorman as prior exposition makes sense? Landing his ship on peaceful protestors is a pretty catastrophic thing to do, and I'm not sure how the upcoming massacre will make it much worse.

It's a very funny narrative design to have Syril head to Coruscant and have Cassian head to Ghorman, each just barely missing each other. I really hope they cross paths again before the season ends. The Syril and Dedra relationship continues to be one of the best in this series and I'm eager to see how it all unravels.

Luthen showing up to see Bix was an unexpected detail, and lent that otherwise static storyline some dimension. One detail I really liked was how it was implied that Bix thought he had shown up to tell her Cassian had died. Luthen really is turning into the grim reaper of this series. And finally, seeing Saw become increasingly deranged through Willmon's eyes was certainly one of the more provocative aspects of the season so far.

    7/10

I wouldn't personally count the Holiday Special as an insight into the GFFA's viewing habits even if it's considered canon.

I think those images in AOTC are from sporting events.

I'm thinking the show Bix was watching is the first real lengthy view of GFFA media.

Were those X-Wings or Z Headhunters with Saw's forces?
Was that the first appearance of them in the timeline?

I think they are x-wings. they are also in Rogue One when they bail out of Jedha and there is a crashed one in the scene where Chirrut takes down all the stormtroopers.

Who says he has to be an imperial spy? Luthen would LOVE to have an inside man in amongst Saw's Partisans (assuming Tubes isn't his man, and doesn't tell him everything), and he knows that Saw is so paranoid he wouldn't let Willmon leave.

That is my assumption, too, but I am not 100%. It would totally be in-character for Luthen to try to put an inside man within Saw's operation. Willmon does a lot of "if I don't show up" talk, but he doesn't show up, and yet we don't see Luthen fretting about it. We know things go so bad between Saw's Partisans and the rebels that will become the Alliance that the Alliance believes Saw will shoot on sight - finding a spy in his ranks might do a thing like that.

Rated the middle part with a 5/10.

If I am watching Star Wars and I am bored to death while watching, something's really wrong. I've only felt like this with a couple of the sequels and with the Acolyte in the past. However, Andor is far superior, I just wasn't really interested in most of the things that were happening. I am starting to think that I did not really care for episodes 4-5 because of Beau Willimon's writing. I could never get into House Of Cards, and maybe now I know why. Especially when there are spy shows out there that are 10 times better, like Homeland for example.
