In Rogue One is Saw using oxygen or is he huffing gas?

I gave the episode an 8/10

Seems like the Empire is cracking down not only on the rebels' activities but suspicious activities going on by Syril and his cohorts At least it seems that things are being spelled out, where they're actually anticipating a rebel incursion so the Empire can come down hard and swift on them. Cassian finally gets to Ghorman. We finally get to understand what happened from Tarkin's massacre from the eyewitness at the hotel. That was really the most important part of this episode; gets really to the core. Saw and his rebels get some more screen time here. Every time I see Forrest Whitaker on screen, I'm hoping he talks more about Saw's time during the Clone Wars. He did get into a little anecdote but seemed to go off on a tangent. He also dropped a hint about a sister and I got excited, but it wasn't even a name-drop.

    I gave this a 9/10.

This was a good episode and promises a killer 6th episode.

I liked how Cassian pretty much told the rebels more or less your plans not going to succeed. He's thinking strategically, to what will work, and you see how they not only didn't like it but questioned his bona fides as a revolutionary. I'm interested in seeing how it plays out.

So obviously Syril isn't incompetent. I hate to say this, but he's got a good plan so far. That he got it okayed speaks more to his competence and ability to think strategically.

Kleya is a really interesting character and I like her strength. She's able to go toe-to-toe with Luthen and hold her own. That's impressive.

That end scene with Saw was nuts. You really see how he's kind of lost it. This is part of what's so interesting about Andor though. The rebellion at this point is so decentralized they're pretty much all doing their own thing and hoping for the best. We see this in Rebels as well.

I don’t think he’s thinking strategically. That’s Luthen, considering the Ghorman resistance in the larger strategic picture, and being willing to sacrifice them for it. Andor’s thinking tactically, on the other hand (correctly assessing that they can’t pull it off without being destroyed), AND emotionally, in terms of protecting the Ghormans from visiting another massacre upon their heads. And that’s at the heart of his conflict with Luthen. Luthen only cares about grand strategy. While Cassian cares, just a bit more than Luthen, about the people in the fight.

10 - Lots of great espionage going on here. Syril is just a terrific character. Saw/Forest is great to have back as well.

No wonder Saw has trouble breathing in Rogue One, inhaling in all that rhydonium. [face_hypnotized]

This article suggests that Tony Gilroy thinks the mask in Rogue One is actually there so Saw can just inhale rhydonium anytime he wants.

I have a theory about what transpired when Cassian met with the intel liaisons for his Ghorman mission. The Teeny Little Super Guy was placed in his pocket, along with a Teeny Little Super Walkie-Talkie. Cassian, with an earpiece, listened to him talk about the details of his alias.
Listen to his voice, and I think you'll agree.

You know, it’s not out of the question that TLSG was the inspiration for that voice!

I like that Syril wore the brown suit his mother ridiculed in season 1 to his meeting at ISB in this episode.

Saw caught on to the traitor when he said if he could just focus on one variation he would have the confidence to do it. One variation means there’s only one rhydo station they would be going to, which is where the ambush was then set up.

But was that when Saw *caught on* or when Saw got paranoid? Willmon is lucky they don't have Bor Gullet, yet, or they would have tossed him in there and accidentally mindwiped the only person who knew how to do the job.

Another 8 out of 10 for me.

Dark and full of both Imperial and Rebel intrigue.

Saw Gerrera is a truly unhinged dude. Wow.

He might actually be the scariest character in the show.

Speaking of Saw… can you imagine Syril and Saw in the same room together [face_hypnotized]
I think Saw would probably kill him with his crazy gaze alone

I didn't expect to see the Resistance base from TFA in this episode i'm not a fan of the Sequels but i feel like that reference gives a deeper context to those movies i would like to see the director of Andor get a new show to try to fix the mistakes of the Sequels and Saw Gerrera what a character arc has Saw had since TCW an original character created by Lucas one of my favorite characters of the New Canon

Yep exactly, took me a while at first but they were prepraring on all variations so that none of them were aware in which station they would pull the heist...that's typical traitor stuff...insisting on knowing which one ratted him out...
