Andor Andor Episode 2.08 Discussion Thread (Spoilers Allowed)

The amount of materials to build the Death Star is staggering; entire planets and species destroyed. Now I wonder how the Empire got the materials to build a second Death Star.

 

That’s like the perfect cover for the second Death Star. With open rebellion flaring up everywhere after the first Darth Star is revealed and destroyed, the Empire appears to be struggling with maintaining control. There should be no way it can spare the resources to build another Death Star let alone spare the personnel needed to gather it all again. But that’s Palpatine again making himself appear weaker than he is and using it to his advantage.

 

I so wanted to hold off rewatching this episode until I binge all of S2, but I failed. During my rewatch the obvious comparison my mind wants to make is to Les Miserable, but on rewatch I felt something else. It was more like watching the Nazi's going into the Warsaw Ghetto during Shindler's List. The utter and total destruction of the Ghor, where storm troopers are not enough, but KX droids have to brutalize whoever is left. Chilling.

Just finished watching this. Talk about jaw dropping. I never thought I'd see SW content to rival TESB but Andor is the contender.

 

Is this the best Andor episode so far?

I think that to me it might be.

 

Definitely a contender for me. Other possibilities are The Eye, One Way Out, Harvest, and Welcome to the Rebellion.

 

It's tied with Rix Road for me those other ones are very close tho
