When you phrase it 1BBY it will cause you confusion. The show refers to it as BBY1, meaning that is the *calendar year* the episodes took place in, not that they took place an entire year prior to Rogue One. If the Battle of Yavin occurred on New Year's Day 2025, the last episode of this season took place on New Year's Eve 2024.

Agreed, My take is there is no year zero. Zero would be the battle itself. Everything in Star Wars A New Hope that happens before the X-Wings take off is also happening in 1BBY. The moment the Death Star is destroyed the time line is now set in 1 ABY.

I am disappointed. No Vader. In addition I expected Mon to dance while the credits roll.

Eh. I wouldn’t be so sure. Always have an open mind for better content. When TCW season 6 wrapped I thought there wouldn’t be a Star Wars show that could top it.

when rebels wrapped I thought nothing could top it. When the bad batch wrapped I thought nothing could top it

same goes for live action. When Mando season 1 wrapped didn’t think anything could capture it. Then came Andor.

there’s always the possibility of something better.

We haven’t seen the last of Tony Gilroy in the SW universe, imo. Much like the Terminator, he’ll be back.

You just made me cry again… I also got that feeling that Bix saw the moment and was comforting Cassian as well… and still convinced she is force sensitive and the kid will be also…

She never planned to see that sunrise her and Luthen helped create…

I've given every episode 10 as it is a film to me. It's the prologue to rogue one. I think the final scene is one of the beautiful colour palettes I've ever seen on screen..just jaw dropping

The "I'm not going anywhere" is a rather typical movie trope. But in this case the situation was such that her presence in Coruscant was a liability to everyone. She was one of the most wanted person in the galaxy, even assuming that they wouldn't catch her immediately (as they were about to do), she couldn't even get out of her hideout, let alone keep performing her spy job. The whole infrastructure they had was gone for good.

So, given such a situation, whining about the fact that she's not a fan of Yavin for fairly petty reasons felt a bit ridiculous to me. Voluntarily staying in Coruscant, apart from the danger, had no practical advantage.

I understand that for the sake of the drama it helps to show characters having conflicting views, but in this case it seemed just too obvious that she should have simply gone with Andor.

I agree, very wise, and a great post, my feelings exactly. As a long time Star Wars fan on many different forums, I have heard this numerous times over: this is the best Star Wars thing ever! (Why because its the new best thing?) I view SW as one story. There are times in animation and in live action that will blow my mind, but Star Wars before it was subtitled A New Hope, and before the special editions will remain, and always shall be, my favorite Star Wars thing ever.

An interesting viewpoint, so based on that rationale 1 BBY and 1 ABY are the exact same year - which using the in universe CRC dating system is 7977.

Although it's weird to have a year 0 (which remember is not used IN UNIVERSE, it's only so we as the audience have a reference point) I don't think it's correct because people have always thought R1 and ANH occurred in 0 BBY. So from a chronological perspective
    1 BBY (CRC 7976)
    0 BBY (CRC 7977)
    1 ABY (CRC 7978)
    ergo 3 years.

So for the final scene in the final episode of Andor, although it is set in 1 BBY, maybe it really is on New Year's Eve! Furthermore, even though Cassian goes to Kafrene on this date, the events of R1 itself may span a number of weeks/months into 0 BBY. :)

10/10 for me. I think last week's arc overall was a little better but this was a great ending to this fantastic season. Was so great having K2 in these last episodes and I loved how well it got us to the beginning of Rogue One. Dedra's fate brought me great joy and I'm really glad Kleya made it out alive. Also was so glad to see Bix doing well but that last scene really got me.

The Battle of Yavin takes place on New Year's Eve with several small fireworks and one rather large one.

Right, and she does. She agrees to leave. She’s just realistically having a difficult time of it. She just lost Luthen, and her whole life. And needs a few minutes to convince herself to let it all go. She also doesn’t know that she’s already been discovered, and that her transmissions are being tracked. We as audiences get annoyed at her dithering only because we know she’s been found out, and that a strike team is literally on her doorstep. But the characters don’t know. And if there’s one complaint I have about most genre shows and movies, it’s that characters know more than they should. Gilroy and co. don’t make that mistake. Through the very end of the show.

I agree as the scene with her is there to delay the suspense. She would be in a frantic state of mind and not thinking as clearly thus is why she's reluctant to head to Yavin with Cassian, Melchi and K2SO.

I'm overall so impressed we got a SW show of this perfection, just truly awesome. It took some rewatches and getting used to, but it is a wonderful addition to the before RO timeline. Sets it up very well. It overcomes the things I really wanted to see: How Dedra found Axis, Jimmy Smits as Bail, Saw and his Partisans with space battles, Lonni getting to Yavin. The show still delivers and ended on a beautiful note.

    Outstanding.

There are two very clear aims for me when you get a ‘prequel’ with characters we’ve already met on the big screen. 1) Enhance the show/film you are building up to and 2) Still manage to be a brilliant show itself. Andor, quite simply, absolutely nails both

I don’t know why I didn’t even think of Bix being pregnant, but I can tell you that my mouth was open in disbelief and there were many tears

The argument over Luthen made me furious watching it and only served to make me hate those two rebel council members from Rogue 1 even more. After Luthen’s death not going how I expected, he did in fact end up going out causing a blaze of chaos and I thought it was excellently written

Yep, I rewatched Rogue One and I did enjoy it more after watching all of Andor.

That said, the off-brand John Williams score really took me out of the moment. The score would hit a couple of the notes from the JW score and my lizard brain would automatically get excited because I though I was about to hear the OG Star Wars score I was used to but then the score would quickly change to the off-brand score and it just sounded weird. It felt like I was getting rick-rolled!

Also, when I first saw Rogue One in the theater I didn't mind CGI Tarkin and Leia. In fact I thought it was impressive. Upon rewatch, yeah that crap looks bad. BAAAAAD! They should've just recast Tarkin like they recast Mon Mothma and they probably shouldn't have included Leia at all. Showing her ship escape would've worked well enough.

The one spoiler I couldn't avoid before watching was to make sure you tuned in through the credits. Of course, I assumed that meant a post-credit scene, and when the music turned to the classic ANH ending I thought we were in for a double treat. Obviously not, but I have to admit I was a bit disappointed.

Great show, best thing Disney Lucasfilm has done by far. I hope it raises the bar from now on.
