To be honest last episode felt bit unneeded for me. Like it connect to Rogue One very well but I think it was not really necessary to connect this closely.

It did exactly what rogue one did with a new hope..exact dovetail..so elegant. The last scene was as beautiful as a van Gogh painting..
For me it also echoed aunt beru looking into the sunset at the end of episode 3

Fun Fact! Rogue One ends with Andor dying. The TV show Andor ends with Andor living, well his baby that is.

I was thinking of giving this a 9 but honestly K2 just one-manning the tactical squad elevates it a ton. Add in the nice bow on top of all these characters' stories while diving directly into Rogue One and it really deserves that 10.

I've seen some people call the final scene a "cheap way to create hope", but it put me in mind of Bobby Sands, an Irish Rebel who died on Hunger Strike in a British prison, who said: Our Revenge Will Be The Laughter Of Our Children.

And others have expressed upset at the show putting Bix "to the side and giving her a baby" and calling it misogynist. Which, isn't fair. If Bix was the only woman on the show, I'd agree. But she's not, there are four other women in the main cast in that finale who all have varied callings, varied things they will be doing, and they all are fighting for the future in different ways. Except Dedra who is in the opposite place, she's in a hopeless place. And in her story, from beginning to end, you can see the sexist ways she was treated, not by the writers, but by the Empire. Her being shunted aside, manhandled by Krennic, and finally imprisoned for doing her job the only way she could as a woman, highlights the nature of the Imperial machine.

I also love that we get to see Kleya actually experience both kindness Luthen couldn't give her and the Rebellion he died to give her. That little smile?

I really hope these characters show up in more post-Rogue One/A New Hope media.

One thing I loved about the council scenes is they sort of clarified that Mon Mothma, while still 100% righteous and still as idealistic as ever, is absolutely the warhawk of the council, with Bail being the deciding vote to back her up because even he's not as quick to view Kleye and Luthen's info as actionable intel, and with how Mon in RO is shown smiling when she realizes Cassian and Jyn went off mission and Raddus has flown to coop. I still think she probably gave it her quick ex-post-facto endorsement and that's probably why she's the only politician we see in ROTJ, since she's probably now got unassailable political support within the Alliance.

And we're used to seeing her contrasted with Luthen that its refreshing to see her contrasted with others.

10/10. Just finished it and loved it. The daily lives of rebel scum. I can't not watch Rogue One straight away after that!

I'm guessing that Diego Luna could potentially return to the canon sometime in the future, maybe a couple of decades from now playing his offspring as an older man.

Wow I can't believe it's over. Going to have to watch R1 tonight

The conclusions to characters like Bix, Dedra, and Partagaz was top notch. I will say re: Dedra that I was expecting her to stand up, preparing to jump when the lights went out instead of breaking down crying.

To me it's obvious Bix knew she was expecting. There is no way Cassian wouldn't do everything in his power to get him and Bix someplace safe, away from the rebellion. I expected it, the only thing I got right on my bingo card. And there is nothing wrong with hope. Rebellions are built on hope afterall.

    Diego Luna is absolutely brilliant.

I liked Cassian in R1, but this show has made Cassian into one of my favorite characters ever.

Actually I have missed Bodhi Rook here, because in Rogue One he was the driving force to bring the knowledge about the Death Star and Galen Erso to the rebellion. After finishing Andor II I watched the start of Rogue One to see how the tie-in is actually working. At the outpost in the Kafrene Ring I see Tivik telling Cassian about the Death Star and Galen Erso, and Cassian seems to be totally clueless about it. Groundhog Day. Sure there can be two people concluding the same thing at the same time but actually the final of the Andor series is taking away all the glory from Bodhi, what I find a bit sad.

Another minus point - the over long talk between Cassian, Ruescott Melshi and Kleya about the Death Star, Galen Erso and the Kyber Crystals in the Coruscant apartment. Fine that everything is making sense now, but do they have to discuss this while the ISB is approaching, when the com frequencies were severely disturbed already? I just thought: What are they are still doing there?

I also found the title Jedha, Kyber, Erso not quite an ingenious one. Just like the first episode One year after. O.k. I know, and could you gimme please the title too?

Tynnra Pamlo was totally in character like in Rogue One.[face_cow]

I would have liked to know how the marriage of Leyda and Stekan will proceed. Now, with Mon ostracized from the Imperial society, it may be inappropriate for the Skuldun family to have ties to her family anymore. And Stekan Skuldan didn't seem to be very decided or strong in the arc he got. All we get about this at last is to see how Davo and Runia Skuldun are drinking alkohol at the backseat in the glider - seriously?

It also took a bit long for Vel on Yavin to speak to Kleya directly. Why that domino spiel via Cassian, via Mon Mothma at the start? Why not talking from woman to woman about everything, especially the losses they both had to endure?

Anyway, I think Cinta and Vel as a couple is another reminiscence on Legends I spotted so often in Andor. Does anybody here still remember Sintas Vel, Boba Fett's wife?:boba:

I also thought the final to become a RogueOne-esque one but with the exception of Cinta Kaz and Enza Rylanz at least all the female characters are quite alive and well. Still shocked Dedra got to one of the Narkina bases in the end. I thought they would just sent her deprived of her former rank to another far far away ISB unit. But - hey - Cassian showed us how to get away from Narkina V. That could become a quite interesting spin-off series. Imperial resistance in an imperial detention facility. =P~

I'll be honest, this last one served little other than to wrap things up and setup Rogue One, which is fine, and basically what the Andor team said it would. The Council arguments are never great theater, never have been.

Bix holding their son was probably the coolest reveal of the entire series. Plus "B" has a new friend.

Another 10/10. Well now I can take my Andor spoilers officially off of my browsers. That was a heck of a live action show, and I'm already planning on rewatching R1 tomorrow morning. K2 rescues Cassian, Kleya and the other guy just in the nick of time. Back on Yavin, Mon contacts Saw, warning him about Jeddha. He seems as stubborn as ever, which we know will be his downside eventually. I'm glad that they included him in this final episode as a tie-in, because otherwise I wasn't exactly sure about his role in these early stages before Jyn comes into play. When Cassina returns, he tells everyone about Luthen and then the real plans for the Death Star; all the while Bail and (I think) Ackbar among those who doubt the sincerity. Cassian is sent to the Ring of Kafrene; which I assume is where we pick up his story in R1. And then the ending; that was a shocker and a half. Bix has a baby, and it's pretty obvious that's Cassian's. What happens to them? I won't say that's an obvious plot hole for the time being, but one could hope that we find out what happens with that family eventually.

The only new information that Bodhi brings in RO is that Galen Erso built a weakness into the Death Star. That is still true, nothing about his role has been diminished.
They have no idea ISB is on the way. They probably assume K's comm just died on him, they have no other evidence that anything is amiss (other than Kleya's obvious wantedness, but Mothma was just as wanted when they sat around and chatted during her extraction).

    All of this. To underline:

    1. Bodhi’s (and Galen’s) role is not at all stepped on by the show. He delivers Galen’s message which is totally new information. Two critical pieces of information, actually. There’s a weakness in the weapon’s reactor core that if hit will start a chain reaction, and the Death Star plans are on Scarif. In Andor, nobody knows this information yet. I can’t understand how one could watch Rogue One immediately after the last three episodes of Andor, and somehow miss this. But it’s dense, so, OK. No worries.

    2. They don’t know the ISB is coming as they’ve been using an old frequency radio that nobody uses anymore. Not even the Alliance does. Just Kleya and Wil. This point was literally hammered home by Kleya, and by Dedra when talking to Heert.

Loved it... beautifully done. The last 6 or 9 episodes have been exquisite Star Wars television, IMO, and are exactly what I wanted from SW TV. Long form stories, lovingly crafted with the production values of a film, but very much in the format of a TV show. 9/10.
