It looks like such a massive critical success that Lucasfilm will have to eventually follow up on it.

Imagine how good some of the other shows could have been with competent people in charge...

My own personal dream (that won't happen) ?

Tony Gilroy Directing a KOTOR trilogy!

Sadly, this is not confined to the world of SW entertainment.

I'm glad we got to see Krennic in charge of an operation. He was more chill and much less anxious, as in R1. I think that Dedra and Syril come from a similar cloth as Krennic. They are normal sorts of bureaucrats who become very wicked out of necessity, or what I call the banality of evil. My view of that theory is that ordinary people become callous out of a mimetic desire to fit in with the authoritarian system. In terms of mimetic process, one can either follow the ideal of the postmodern sacrifice, or the noble goal to love humankind's good traits. Or one can fall into postmodern nonsense as they imitate the mistakes of the fallen idols. Therefore, I feel like those who help prop up the fascist system give up their individuality and, accordingly, their humanity. It's like a tragic Shakespearean play to witness, and even though I don't like the villains, it helps me to feel sorry for their old selves a bit.

The Expanded Universe came up with similar villains. Like Caedus, Plagueis, Lumiya, Kreia/Traya, Darth Zannah, Darth Bane, Darth Malgus. Very dangerous and yet complicated individuals. So, I feel like Gilroy and Co. are providing us with a stage play like that in the secular world. Thus, I enjoy it.

    Yeah.

You can see, or at least imagine, the transition from noble but corrupt Republic to outright evil Empire here. Some of these people were around in the Republic, where they got caught up in the Clone Wars, maybe saw a necessity for order and security (from their view at least) and all of that was just fine. Over time they make more and more excuses for the evil that is clearly unfolding around them. However, some rise to the occasion. The Empire allows these kinds of people to flourish and finally be ...free to be wicked and truly evil. It allows them to think genocide for a power source is a absolutely fair price to pay. That tearing up entire worlds is fine. That there is no line, as long as they achieve their goals. (Their agenda).

We see the same thing in our reality as well.

And most of the galaxy, Empire or not, doesn't even really know who's running the show. Emperor Palpatine is just a politician, who saved the Republic, and created the Empire. But that's it. His true Sith nature is unknown to them.

Star Wars is for everyone from small toddlers to old adults. And thats with diverse of creators. We get someone who dosent like Star Wars in Tony Gilroy, Jon Favreau who at first only liked the OT, Dave Filoni who is a fan of all of it by how admission. Competence depends on how you view it, is Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni not competent? Tony Gilroy is another beast, who makes no use of the volume and it cost almost 300 million to make. And it gets little viewership. The Mandalorian is what got us Andor. And Tony Gilroy likes The Mandalorian and Skeleton Crew.

The only thing I really want to see in this season is more Saw Gerrera. Was disappointed that he had just two short scenes in Season 1. I'd like to see how he and Mon Mothma developed a feud with one another, which was talked about in Rebels:

Basically I'd like to see him doing everything Mon Mothma was accusing him of doing here. And it'd be nice to know how he lost some of his limbs, as we'd seen in Rogue One.

Just a quick 2 cents. Had very low expectations of Andor going into S1, but was quickly blown away. Yes, the pacing could've been better, yes it did appear to be aimed at older audiences than we were used to, but it was quite the masterpiece. It's as if people who were never SW fans like Gilroy actually understand Star Wars and deliver what the fans really want more than writers and directors that were lifetime Star Wars fans. That seems to be a pattern.

In that context, Andor S2 has been the most excited I've been for any show (or movie) for a long time, and it delivered, again. To be fair, the pacing could still have been better, the whole arc on Yavin seemed totally pointless and extremely prolonged, but overall the acting, dialogue, costumes, cinematography -- all spot on. The fact that each episode is a new day during the 3-day wedding was a nice touch. The emotions were very raw and relatable. And "that scene", as uncomfortable as it was, was masterfully done.

Overall, I think the content of these 3 episodes could have easily been squeezed into 2 without missing anything important, and some of the cuts were a bit jarring and repetitive, but otherwise there's very little to complain about. At least the story and the motivations make sense, no canon controversy is being stirred, and we're being exposed to a lot of new stuff that's not just "fan service".

I said this in the individual episode thread. Specifically, I mean 2.3. But Brasso was under-rated in Season 1. He helped Cassian Andor, Bix, Maarva, the droid, and everyone. He was a busy guy. He didn't impose his will on others. He wanted to be a big brother in his community. That's what I appreciate about this show. Cassian himself is sort of the class clown who gets in trouble, but he later grows into a determined rebel leader. Brasso is the guy who protects the class clown from the haters. It's a lot of work, but he was up to it. Wonderful fellow.

I always got the impression that Brasso was very highly rated. He is like everyone's best friend and big brother.

I lolled at the Rebels using the metric system. I’m not even sure it was a deliberate joke. Regardless, t’was amusing.

Those rebels were morons though. I hope they all get eaten. Or get real bad diarrhea from eating rotten fruit. And then get eaten.

I think a dedicated series all about the rebellion from Mon Mothma's POV would be excellent.

An Andor successor show set during the Original Trilogy - an ensemble wartime espionage series with Mon Mothma being the main connective thread - would be absolutely awesome
