I think when you watch everything chronologically,, especially in a few years time it will all become clear. For me Andor is a culmination of something that begins in solo and ends in return of the jedi

Well stated, DGJ. Here's hoping Starfighter and Mando and Grogu are both on the lucky, Andor side of LFL's endeavors.

I think Andor is going to have a long tail. It's the kind of show that people will talk about and watch even several years from now. Shows like this often continue to expand their audience long after they are released.

I don't think any of the other live action shows (with the possible exception of Mando S1/S2) are going to be things people care about long term (outside of making fun of them/memeing them lol)

So glad to see everyone's positive views on a show that's well deserving. The character development was so strong and extremely impressive. To learn what the rebellion went through to get to where they are (OT), its amazing. I do hope we get something similar in the future, but won't be suprised to see this stand alone as one of the greatest shows & SW of all time.

Just noticed that little girl next to Bix picture halfway down playing with a AT-ST.

I love that reoccurring theme in Andor ^^

The oppressive monster they feed and support, eventually consumes the ones who feed it.

A theme that’s really sticking with me from this show…

Just the sadness of the ISB council.

Dedra for example, She is arguably a genius.

Imagine if she used her intelligence for good.

In the end, it doesn’t matter what gifts you have, it matters how you use them.

Not to worry. Dedra will be released from Imperial Prison in about 4 years … or whenever the NR decides to allow Imperials back into the fold after completing a semester at Re-Education Academy.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Dedra is killed off after ANH

The Luthen flashback was very good. And so was Cleya's infiltration of the hospital, but the last episode was kinda dull.

    Deep breath....

Andor is a major achievement for Star Wars storytelling that still had an even higher ceiling.

Let me start off by saying I’m deeply appreciative of this entire show. There’s an ambition and design to everything here that often fulfills the best of what this mythology can do as a television series. And its best moments rank with the greatest Star Wars moments ever. My two favorite episodes of the series were both in this season (“Harvest” and “Make It Stop”).

And the number of well written and developed characters in this series can’t be understated. I always go back to how many characters I respond to, and Andor arguably has the deepest roster out of any Star War ever.

What I keep coming back to however, is that I ultimately prefer season 1. It set the tone for the series, and the cadence with which it developed its characters and the narrative over a year had a better pace overall.

While season 2 has a number of incredible moments, seeing 4 years condensed to 12 episodes meant that compromises had to be made. Had season 1 followed a similar pattern to season 2, maybe I would not have had this problem. Major time jumps across films and seasons of TV aren’t uncommon, especially for Star Wars, but in season 2 I was often left wanting more. Conversely, try condensing the events of season 1 to just three episodes. Not so easy, I think.

Perhaps my biggest issue is with Bix, who understandably is dealing with a lot of trauma to start the season and gradually finds her way out of it. But it felt weird to see her on the sidelines so often, especially knowing that she’s arguably more devoted to the Rebellion than even Cassian. I ultimately am fine with her sacrifice and am curious to see if she and the baby are explored any further, but I really wish she had more to do in this season.

Another character that I was very surprised didn’t have greater utility was Saw Gerrera. No Rebel character is a person of action more than Saw, yet we never saw him get truly involved on missions. Again, this is the reality of a compressed timeline. Also, the fact that Wilmon’s ostensibly life changing experience with Saw in the second arc seemed completely discarded when we see him again one year later.

In many other cases, we got great moments in season 2 that deserved even more buildup. Vel and Cinta was one of the relationships I was most invested in from season 1. While I think their time apart made sense for the storytelling, I really wanted to have their reunion in the second arc of episodes this season come sooner. Keeping it to a single episode just didn’t feel like enough despite the devastating payoff of Cinta’s accidental death and Vel’s reaction to it.

Mon Mothma’s speech to the Senate is the culmination of her entire arc, but I wanted much more consideration and escalation leading up to that scene. The ramifications for her family’s safety could have elevated the stakes further, despite her distance from her husband and daughter. Season 1 did a great job of intertwining her home life with her obligations as a Senator, but her speech ultimately felt like a professional peak, but I think there was more opportunity to make it personal as well.

Seeing so much time devoted to the Maya Pei brigade seemed to imply a continued focus on the development of the Rebellion, but we seemingly got more time with those nincompoops than getting to see a gradual escalation and emergence of leadership that we meet in Rogue One and A New Hope. Luthen got a fitting and resonant conclusion to his story, but many of the rifts that he has with other Rebel leaders happens offscreen. There was so much more potential for Luthen’s diminishment and Cassian’s ascendancy that what we got.

There are other more minor issues I have with this season, but I truly don’t want to make it sound like my overall takeaway is negative. I just find myself preferring season 1’s macro storytelling.

I agree, his cameo in the last arc centered mostly with his actions in Rogue One, with another season we could have touched on Saw a bit more, but I'm still happy with what we got.
In about 6 months or less, the youtubers will have fully dissected Andor season 2, like they did with TFA, which at first was a great re-entry but 6 months later just a clone of ANH... so we shall see how long the hype will last.

Totally agree that when critics talk about Star Wars TV shows from now and forever they'll likely sing the praises of Andor and then not mention the other shows or only briefly mention that Disney also cranked out a bunch of cartoonish live action Star Wars shows that are largely forgotten.

The characters of Andor will likely live on in peoples memory. Nobody is going to remember The Acolyte characters in five years, if they remember them even now. Ditto goes for Skeleton Crew or any of the new characters that appeared in Kenobi, or Boba Fett. If it weren't for the cartoons, people probably wouldn't remember the Ahsoka characters either.

Anyone else wondering how Leida is doing ? What happens after her mom’s defection to the Rebellion?

Did Mon have protection for her set up?

How worried was Mon about the Empire going after Leida in retaliation?

I suspect if Mon had set up any kind of special protection for Leida, the ISB would see that as proof that Leida was involved in the Rebellion. Probably better to do nothing at all and let her have plausible deniability.

Gotta say that Dedra, Krennic and Partagaz where all so much better than Thrawn was on Ahsoka.

Partagaz was like a mini-Emperor Palpatine. He was threatening and yet still quiet.

It was terrifying watching him circle the meeting room, calling out subordinates.

I'm glad we didn't get token cameos from the Emperor, Vader, or Tarkin; makes them loom all the larger in the narrative.

Honestly it would be interesting to see they could pull off a story about Dedra set during the New Republic. Would she have an interest in joining the surviving Imps? Would she join the New Republic? Would she lone wolf it?
