Found the whole movie - I was wrong Mila Lazarus - the alien navigators are there and depart when Kylo and Rey are just arriving to the throne room of Snoke.

I think there is a good chance of a tie in though the movie won't go into it at all probably "if" Snoke is dead. Yep Serkis has never answered the question I think of why he had to cancel that appearance while Star Wars was filming.

That's what I was going to tell you... I took the screen pictures myself yesterday. I couldn't see when they left though, because my computer blocked and I went to bed :p It's a bit curious that Snoke's assistants left right after Kylo and Rey's arrival.

About Andy Serkis not being - apparently - present in Ep IX, it could also mean that Snoke has simply changed appearance...

A threat from beyond makes me think that Snoke's spirit will be in IX. Makes sense because he's from beyond the grave.

Snokes death could trigger the rest of his species to arrive from ‘the beyond’.. perhaps one of his rings is key in alerting them he’s dead.

Isn't "Black Diamond" the movie's working title?

    Indeed it is.
Iceko, we share the same theory that his ring alerts someone of his passing.

Uh, why would his "species" come just because he dies? Maybe his loyalists, but wouldn't they have already been with him? IDK.

Been reading a lot about Lord momin, I haven't read the Vader comics, just bits from here and there and I started thinking about snoke.
I don't think snoke is momin, because momin is a sith, but I found out that momin was a sculpture and snoke mentioned something to Kylo about not even the finest sculpture can create something...I can't remember right now but I'm sure you know what I mean. Snoke could be referencing momin here. Which means he knows who he was and what he was able to do by transferring his spirit into objects like his mask.
Snoke could have done this with his ring, which was made from rock from Vader's castle, which momin built. Momin was even crushed by a rock Vader threw at him. Could be the same rock that crushed momin.

I am thinking possibly Snoke has a connection to the Grysk despite being a different race and they appear late in the movie setting it up where they can be used for stuff in the future after Ep 9. The Grysk were part of a bigger plan.

Well maybe he was sent to ‘prepare’ the GFFA for the invasion? Reminds me a lot of the Reapers in Mass Effect though. Not sure if I’d dig that too much to be honest..

I’m just speculating here because I don’t think they’ll introduce a new enemy from the beyond in the final film of the trilogy. They could end it with that but that’d be a huge cliffhanger and I’m pretty sure most of the cast wouldnt want to be tie to another film or trilogy..

The whole Snoke's Throneroom scene in TLJ intrigues me so much. It has a very Wizard of Oz feel to it with the giant red curtains, which makes me feel like Snoke was somehow just "putting on a show". The fact that he bounces his Force Lightning off of the floor instead of hitting Kylo directly with it adds to my speculation. I feel like Snoke's power was somehow tied into that room, like he had far more control over the Force that anyone we've seen so far, but it was because that room amplified his power. It might also explain why someone with such power would feel the need to have armed guards constantly surrounding him- just in case his amplifier failed temporarily. Palps had his red guard in his throne room but there were only two of them posted way over by the entrance and he quickly dismissed them when Luke was brought before him.

This all leads me to think that the dead body we've seen in TLJ was only a puppet that Snoke was using- and that his real form is still lying in wait out in The Beyond. I'm hoping this new threat from there is another group that Snoke sends in to deal with Kylo after his betrayal, it just takes them some time to make their way to the GFFA so they show up after Kylo has been running the FO for a while.

I've had the same suspicions about the scene. Puppet is the best way to describe the being that we saw as Snoke. A more elaborate version of the Wizard of Oz..... not merely a projection on a screen, but an organic body physically operated, remotely, by the real Snoke. It's way too risky to put himself in a room with Kylo when there's the possibility Kylo might betray him. It was Snoke's test of Kylo's loyalty. As for the body, it may have been a corpse reanimated by Snoke, or an elderly man kept alive and operated by Snoke. Part of the quest in IX may deal with rooting out the source of this Force marionette show. Both Kylo and Rey continue to encounter beings of great power, only to defeat them and encounter another. A true phantom menace. Then they finally find the tomb.... and who knows what happens next!?

Personnally, I believe that if Snoke is still alive, he won't be played by Andy Serkis: that could be Matt Smith... It would explain all the secrecy around his character. Of course it's only speculation from my part, but I tend to think that JJ will want to show the audience that Snoke is actually a spirit who can take several forms.

But still if he's alive somewhere, being "killed" by Kylo is exactly what he wanted. If Kylo had killed Rey, he would have been overwhelmed by guilt, like when he killed his father. In this scenario, Snoke certainly knew that it would further weaken him, while killing HIM and becoming the new Supreme Leader would make him feel more powerful. He probably expected Kylo to kill Rey after that, if she refused to join him... Snoke would have had everything he wanted then.

That, of course, if Snoke is not dead. I guess I should rather not believe too much in this idea.

I re-watched both TFA and TLJ, and I count three times in which the word "Wise" was used in a scene involving Snoke. Just sayin'.

Kylo Ren's random, ill-placed "The Supreme Leader is wise" line in TFA. And also, Snoke utters the word "wise" twice in TLJ:

Snoke: Oh. Have you seen something? A weakness... in my apprentice... is that why you came? [laughs] Young fool. It was I who bridged your minds. I stoked Ren's conflicted soul. I knew he was not strong enough to hide it from you, and you were not wise enough to resist the bait. [moves Rey closer and looks face to face with Rey] And now... you will give me Skywalker. Then... I will kill you with the cruelest stroke.

Snoke: I did not expect Skywalker to be so wise. We will give him and the Jedi Order the death he desires.

Good catch there. The "wise" line from Kylo in TFA felt like JJ messing with the fans after the Darth Vegas stuff.

“Snoke is bloody dark; way darker than Palpatine,” “He’s riddled with this osteoporosis so his body’s twisted, like a corkscrew. He’s incredibly damaged, so there’s a bizarre vulnerability about him. "Beneath that vulnerability, though, is this intense hatred.” “He’s definitely not a Sith, but he’s certainly at the darker end of the Force. Without giving too much away, that begins to unfold a little in this one.”

Serkis statements a little prior to TLJ's release.

“Begins to unfold” sounds like there is very possibly more to unfold with this character.

He was just figuring out if it was time to think about taking Kylo out like his previous apprentices. Kylo's actions in that throne room test has helped him make that decision. He has been around long enough to not want to play those Sith games. ;)

The irony is that Snoke, like his buddy Plagueis, aren't wise enough to avoid being killed in humiliating ways.

Dont forget Palpatine. He could fight off Yoda but couldn't stop himself from getting thrown like a sack of s%&^ down a reactor shaft by his one handed asthmatic apprentice.
